GOP Candidates and Gun Rights

I opened my email this morning, and began to read Townhall Daily. Specifically, an article by Ken Blackwell.

I found at least part of it ludicrous to say the least!

“Mitt Romney, Fred Thompson, John McCain, and Mike Huckabee are staunch Second Amendment advocates

I would suggest that anyone that has even a passing interest in individual rights to check the Gun Owners of America website to see just where these men really stand. Figure it out. The taking of inalienable rights based upon less than a felony conviction, or serious mental disability, and ex post facto law are all immoral, as well as very much unconstitutional. Every one of the candidates mentioned have supported those things in the past. I for one, am sick and tired of having to choose the lessor of the evils.

We need a Barry Goldwater or Ronald Reagan to get this great nation back on track.

Just curious, who do you believe is the strongest supporter of the 2nd amendment running for president?

I know that Tom Tancredo is a great supporter of RKBA. He had a single weak moment right after the Columbine tragedy, but then quickly recanted after McCain came here and spouted off that we needed more gun laws in Colorado. I think it was 23 laws that were violated in just obtaining the weapons used, which shows the utter fallacy of McCain’s words.

Ron Paul does have a solid record supporting firearms rights. I can’t get behind him for reasons posted elsewhere in this blog though.

Well Sheridan, what can you tell me about the superiority of Apple / Macintosh over PC systems? I do little music anymore due to nerve damage in my ears from all the sirens in the older ambulances. I mostly do word processing, bloging, and things like using Excel for budgets.

The Macs appear a lot more expensive to me. What advantages might there be in me purchasing one for my next computer?

Yes, I did check out your website. It gets a thumbs up! :)
