A Bit of History

Got this from my friend Texas Fred. In one form or another this has been around for decades. Hat tip to Texas Fred ( http://texasfred.net/ )

A Ten Gallon Hat Tip to Texas Fred.

I just posted the below on my blog, not looking for hits folks but if you want to use this and re-post it on your blogs or send it to your list of readers, please feel free to do so… I am in a really patriotic America 1st mood this morning, and I think it shows…

Gun Control…

In 1929, the Soviet Union established gun control. From 1929 to 1953, about 20 million dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
In 1911, Turkey established gun control. From 1915 to 1917, 1.5 million Armenians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
Germany established gun control in 1938 and from 1939 to 1945, a total of 13 million Jews and others who were unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated
China established gun control in 1935. From 1948 to 1952, 20 million political dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
Guatemala established gun control in 1964. From 1964 to 1981, 100,000 Mayan Indians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
Uganda established gun control in 1970. From 1971 to 1979, 300,000 Christians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
Cambodia established gun control in 1956. From 1975 to 1977, one million ‘educated’ people, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
Defenseless people rounded up and exterminated in the 20th Century because of gun control: 56 million.
It has now been 12 months since gun owners in Australia were forced by new law to surrender 640,381 personal firearms to be destroyed by their own government, a program costing Australia taxpayers more than $500 million dollars. The first year results are now in:

List of 7 items:
Australia-wide, homicides are up 3.2 percent
Australia-wide, assaults are up 8.6 percent
Australia-wide, armed robberies are up 44 percent (yes, 44 percent)!

In the state of Victoria alone, homicides with firearms are now up 300 percent. Note that while the law-abiding citizens turned them in, the criminals did not, and criminals still possess their guns!

While figures over the previous 25 years showed a steady decrease in armed robbery with firearms, this has changed drastically upward in the past 12 months, since criminals now are guaranteed that their prey is unarmed.

There has also been a dramatic increase in break-ins and assaults of the ELDERLY. Australian politicians are at a loss to explain how public safety has decreased, after such monumental effort and expense was expended in successfully ridding Australian society of guns. The Australian experience and the other historical facts above prove it.

You won’t see this data on the US evening news, or hear politicians disseminating this information.

Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws adversely affect only the law-abiding citizens.

Take note my fellow Americans, before it’s too late!

The next time someone talks in favor of gun control, please remind them of this history lesson.

With guns, we are ‘citizens’.
Without them, we are ‘subjects’.

During WWII the Japanese decided not to invade America because they knew most Americans were ARMED!

If you value your freedom, Please spread this anti-gun control message to all of your friends and post it on your sites…

Of course this is all true because someone said it.

The misinformation regarding a “Japanese Invasion of the US.” There was no plan because they couldn’t have done it, logistically speaking. Look how hard it was for the U.S. to take over little islands, closer and closer to Japan before they finally dropped the bomb. Coming in through Alaska would have caused the same problem the German and the Nepoleonic French armies had, that is freezing to death before victory.

The plan, as it was, has been well documented, and no. I will not supply the information. Do your own research.

The Japanese, at that time thought of logistics in a very different way that we do, and did. Courage equaled much more then a handful of rice.

Thanks for your well thought out comment. At least you do know how to spell…

Well, never mind – here in the happy go lucky UK started to have gun control after WWI yup that long, mostly because after WWI the rich couldn’t be relied on to have all the guns – even up until the early 1920s if there was a bank robbery there would be a call up for individuals with guns to help the constabulary….

But when yokels started to turn up who weren’t of the right stuff, you know, then gun controls arrived….

So far, barring Churchill’s interest with eugenics (when he was told that we did not do that sort of thing) there has not been that much danger of the government round us up by the hundred thousand and sending us off to the gas tanks – it’s just as well we always knew our place, but it does show that gun control does not mean mass slaughter of innocents.

Great points Free to Think. However, I believe that the experience in Britain is the exception that makes the rule, so to speak.

In college, I wrote a research paper about “the elitist roots of gun control in America.” It would appear that the same might be true elsewhere in the world.
As is the general futility of implementing personal weapon controls. The havoc raised in Great Britain by the Irish Republican Army as well as other groups elsewhere in Europe being perhaps the greatest examples of such folly.

There is a problem that has arisen recently – the local fascists, ie ‘New Labour’ under El Presidente Blair changed the laws which meant that anyone carrying a gun over a certain age (around the 17 mark) would automatically face 5years in prison… How this has changed things is that if older criminals and other do-badders want to take a gun from A and deliver it to B they now use child runners.

Unsurprisingly gun crime and deaths have gone up – where once the ‘evil folk’ used judgement about who should be able to carry and who shouldn’t they have now opted for the ‘safe’ option – which means that other folk are now less safe – the politician’s would say that the criminals are just being bad and need locking up, but their policy made the criminals react in a way must of us would think sensible (ie – I am not going to jail so I’ll do it this way…) if we only thought about it from their view.

Still, not your hundreds of thousands, not yet anyway…
