Microsoft Helping Fund Anti-Hunting Movement

June 17, 2007

REDMOND, WA—The U.S. Sportsmen’s Alliance (USSA) announced earlier this month that Microsoft Corp. has rejected a request to abandon its partnership with the nation’s leading anti-hunting organization. The USSA is reporting that software giant Microsoft is working with the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) on a pilot program called the “i’m Initiative.” Under the new program, whenever a Microsoft Windows Live Messenger user has a conversation using the new program, Microsoft will give a portion of the program’s advertising revenue to one of 10 organizations selected by the user. The HSUS is one of the choices on the list of options, and the USSA says there’s no limit to the amount of money that can be donated.

The USSA says it’s repeatedly asked Microsoft to end its support of the HSUS, but so far the company has refused. According to Microsoft representative Tara Kriese, Microsoft believes the new program is “a great way to enable people to help causes that are important to them.”

“Microsoft is going to pour hundreds of thousands of dollars, probably more, into an organization that recently issued a manifesto that targets hunting for extinction,” said USSA President Bud Pidgeon. “If there was ever a time for sportsmen to take grassroots action, this is it.”

Sportsmen are being asked to contact Microsoft and encourage it to end its financial support of the HSUS. You can contact Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates at: Chairman, Microsoft, 1 Microsoft Way, Redmond, WA 98052; phone: (425) 882-8080, fax: (425) 936-7329.

Wouldn’t it be amazing if Microsoft did the same thing for the GOA?

The National Rifle Association sells out Gun Owners Again

June 10, 2007

The National Rifle Association sold out the American Constitution  again. Negotiating yet again with Democrat neo-communist forces leads only too more restrictions placed upon the American people.

The story can be found at http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/19146984/ but it is not the whole story.

As usual, the devil will be in the details. This bill is being ramrodded through, and that normally means that the Senators do not want you or me to know what is in it.

I will be looking into this more deeply, and I can assure you that I will turn up the heat when full discloser is made.

TWO MAJOR ENERGY COMPANIES KEEP PRIVATE LAND OPEN FOR HUNTERS

June 9, 2007

Bull ElkTWO MAJOR ENERGY COMPANIES KEEP PRIVATE LAND OPEN FOR HUNTERS

Working with the Colorado Division of Wildlife, EnCana and Shell have agreed to keep several large privately-owned parcels open for public hunting in the Piceance Creek area.

The two energy firms have reached separate agreements with the DOW to allow hunting on private land owned by the companies.

The EnCana agreement is a one year commitment by the company to keep approximately 17,000 acres of private land on the Roan Plateau open during the 2007 big game hunting seasons.

“We’re pleased that we can once again open this beautiful area up for the season and we’re especially proud of the partnership that has developed with the Division of Wildlife,” said Darrin Henke, Vice President of EnCana’s South Rockies Business Unit.

Access to property owned by Shell is maintained through a ten year hunting access lease that Shell and the DOW entered into in 2006. The agreement leases more than 19,000 acres of land to the DOW for hunting access for $1 per year.

“We understand that the sport of hunting is important to west slope communities,” said Jill Davis, senior public affairs representative for the Shell Mahogany Research Project.  “Part of doing oil shale the right way is to maintain and improve northwestern Colorado’s way of life. Maintaining hunting access to the Piceance basin is certainly a part of that.”

To protect the safety of energy exploration workers that may be operating in the areas the agreement lays out specific areas where hunting is allowed. For more information about hunting access locations, please contact the DOW Meeker office at (970) 878-6090 or PO Box 1181, Meeker, CO 81641.

The specific properties are located in what is commonly called the “Girls Claims”.
The Girls Claims were originally operated as public land by the Bureau of Land Management, but an agreement signed in 1980 provided provisions allowing energy companies to claim the land and convert it to private ownership. One part of the agreement required that the land remain open to the public for 25 years. The agreement expired in August, 2005 and private property signs began appearing in these areas.

“It was frustrating for some of our hunters when they arrived in these areas where they may have hunted for years, or in some cases generations, only to find that they were no longer welcome,” explained DOW Area Wildlife Manager Bill deVergie. “It’s great that these two companies have agreed to keep these lands open to hunters.”

The Colorado Division of Wildlife is the state agency responsible for managing wildlife and its habitat, as well as providing wildlife related recreation. The Division is funded through hunting and fishing license fees, federal grants and Colorado Lottery proceeds through Great Outdoors Colorado.

More on immigration

June 9, 2007

This is good! Below is a good example of a discussion with a master of circular logic. Don’t be logical, don’t
respect the truth or your adversary, just say what you think makes a new case when the previous case gets too
difficult to defend. On the streets of downtown Houston, May 1, 2006.

Jim Moore reporting for a Houston TV station:

Jim: Juan, I see that you and thousands of other protesters are marching in the streets to demonstrate for your
cause. Exactly what is your cause and what do you expect to accomplish by this protest?

Juan: We want our rights. We will show you how powerful we are. We will bringHouston to its knees!

Jim: What rights?

Juan: Our right to live here…legally. Our right to get all the benefits you g et.

Jim: When did you come to the United States?

Juan: Six years ago. I crossed over the border at night with seven other friends.

Jim: Why did you come?

Juan: For work. I can earn as much in a month as I could in a year in Mexico. Besides, I get free health care, our
Mexican children can go to school free, if I lose my job I will get Welfare, and someday I will have the Social
Security. Nothing like that inMexico!

Jim: Did you feel badly about breaking our immigration laws when you came?

Juan: No! Why should I feel bad? I have a right to be here. I have a right to amnesty. I paid lots of money for my
Social Security and Green Cards.

Jim: How did you acquire those documents?

Juan: From a guy in Dallas. He charged me a lot of money too.

Jim: Did you know that those documents were forged?

Juan: It is of no matter. I have a right to be here and work.

Jim: What is the “right” you speak of?

Juan: The right of all Aliens. It is found in your Constitution. Read it!

Jim: I have read it, but I do not remember it saying anything about rights for Aliens.

Juan: It is in that part where it says that all men have Alien rights, like the right to pursue happiness. I
wasn’t happy in Mexico, so I came here.

Jim: I think you are referring to the declaration of Independence and that document speaks to unalienable
rights .. Not Alien rights.

Juan: Whatever.

Jim: Since you are demanding to become an American citizen, why then are you carrying a Mexican Flag?

< /FONT>Juan: Because I am Mexican.

Jim: But you said you want to be given amnesty … to become a US citizen.

Juan: No. This is not what we want. This is our country, a part of Mexico that you Gringos stole from us. We want
it returned to its rightful owner.

< SPAN style=”FONT-SIZE: 18px; COLOR: black; FONT-FAMILY: Arial”>Jim: Juan, you are standing in Texas. After
wining the war with Mexico, Texasbecame a Republic, and later Texans voted to join the USA. It was not stolen
fromMexico.

Juan: That is a Gringo lie. Texas was stolen. So was California, New Mexico andArizona. It is just like all the
other stuff you Gringos steal, like oil and babies. You are a country of thieves.

Jim: Babies? You think we steal babies?

Juan: Sure. Like from Korea and Vietnam and China. I see them all over the place. You let all these foreigners in,
but try to keep us Mexicans out. How is this fair?

Jim: So, you really don’t want to become an American citizen then.

Juan: I just want my rights! Everyone has a right to live, work, and speak their native language wherever and
whenever they please. That’s another thing we demand. All signs and official documents should be in Spanish .
Teachers must teach in Spanish. Soon, more people here in Houston will speak Spanish than English. It is our right!

Jim: If I were to cross over the border into Mexico without proper documentation, what rights would I have there?

Juan: None. You would probably go to jail, but that’s different.

Jim: How is it different? You said everyone has the right to live wherever they please.

Juan: You Gringos are a bunch of land grabbing thieves. Now you want Mexico too?Mexico has its rights. You Gringos
have no rights in Mexico. Why would you want to go there anyway? There is no free medical service, schools, or
welfare there for foreigners such as you. You cannot even own land in my country. Stay in the country of your
birth.

Jim: I can see that there is no way that we can agree on this issue. Thank you for your comments.

Juan: Viva Mexico!

You will not see this heart-stopping photo on the front page of the NY Times or on the lead story of the major
news networks. The protestors put up the Mexican flag over the American flag flying upside down at Montebello High
School in California.

I predict this stunt will be the nail in the coffin of any guest-worker/amnesty plan on the table in Washington.
The image of the American flag subsumed to another and turned upside down on American soil is already spreading on
In ternet forums and via e-mail.

Pass this along to every American citizen in your address books and to every representative in the state and
federal government. If you choose to remain uninvolved, do not be amazed when you no longer have a nation to call
your own nor anything you have worked for left since it will be “redistributed” to the activists while you are so
peacefully staying out of the “fray”. Check history, it is full of nations/empires that disappeared when its
citizens no longer held their core beliefs and values. One person CAN make a difference. One plus one plus one
plus one plus one plus one……..

The battle for our secure borders and immigration laws that actually mean something, however, hasn’t even begun.

Bill O’Reilly

June 9, 2007

‘With great power there must also come – great responsibility!” So said the first Spider-Man comic book, in 1962. In the last few weeks, talk radio’s The Caplis & Silverman Show has abused its great power.Since May 16, almost every C&S Show has incited a campaign against Boulder High School. I wish that hosts Dan Caplis and Craig Silverman would focus their considerable talents elsewhere, rather than harassing the Boulder High community, and attempting to impose the censorious morality of outsiders on Boulder.

Last April, several panels of the CU Conference on World Affairs were held, as is the custom, at next-door Boulder High. For the panel “STDs: Sex, Teens and Drugs,” some students attended on their own, with parental permission; several classes were brought to the panel by teachers. Not every teacher specifically restated the universal policy at Boulder High – applicable to all films, books and speakers – that anyone who was uncomfortable could opt out.

In the ensuing fallout, the Boulder Valley School District immediately stated that the failure to re- announce the opt-out rule was an error. Moreover, the panel violated BVSD policy that a broad range of views be presented on controversial subjects. The responsible employees were reprimanded.

End of story? Not for C&S. Day after day it has been playing selected quotes from the panel. Caplis has demanded that “each school authority” be “severely disciplined.” C&S has orchestrated an e-mail and telephone deluge against Boulder High.

Conspicuously missing from the C&S daily expression of “outrage” is support from Boulder High parents of students who actually listened to the panel. One parent of a student who was brought in to hear the panel complained at a school board meeting. Neither C&S nor other media have found even a second upset family of a student who actually attended the panel.

Given the school board’s appropriate response to the single aggrieved parent – ensuring that in the future every parent have the opportunity to opt out of any CWA panel beforehand – C&S should have moved on long ago from a story that merited, at most, a couple days’ attention. The silent majority of Boulder families apparently are not as repressive as C&S about how free the speech in public high schools should be.

Many parents who tell their teenagers to “say no” know that students must learn to think for themselves. A comment on the Boulder Daily Camera Web site aptly quoted John Milton: “I cannot praise a fugitive and cloistered virtue, unexercised and unbreathed, that never sallies out and sees her adversary . . . ”

Harping on the need to protect “the children,” C&S arrogates to itself a decision that properly belongs to BHS parents.

Statements of panelists have been shorn of context. C&S tells its audience that panelist Antonio Sacre said that he had stopped using condoms because it “doesn’t feel as good.”

Literally true, but nearly libelous. What C&S did not tell the audience was that Sacre explained his regret for his foolish choices about condoms as a teenager. Sacre warned his audience that they should always use condoms – even if the female is taking birth-control pills – because of the danger of sexually transmitted diseases, and because there is always a risk of pregnancy. (The full transcript and audio are available at , which C&S, to their credit, have linked to on their KHOW Web page.)

Caplis insists that teachers should have driven the students out of the auditorium because “within five minutes” the panel was promoting drug use and sex. In fact, the opening 10 minutes consisted of introductions and a presentation by Sanho Tree of the Institute for Policy Studies, who simply critiqued counterproductive programs, such as DARE, which loses credibility because of its reckless exaggerations.

C&S claimed that the panel was in accord with panelist Joel Becker, who encouraged students to have sex and use drugs “appropriately” because they would be having sex and using drugs anyway. Actually, Sanho Tree, the panel’s drug policy expert, said not a single word encouraging the students to use drugs. Instead, he criticized the harmful effects of current drug policies.

Appearing on Bill O’Reilly’s Fox TV show, The O’Reilly Factor, Caplis did not even know the name of the school’s good-hearted and excellent principal Bud Jenkins, but was sure that Jenkins and every administrator should be fired. Heedless of First Amendment case law, O’Reilly proclaimed that the panel’s speech constituted a crime. The only crime was perpetrated by the O’Reilly producer who, attempting to ambush interview school board President Helayne Jones, criminally trespassed into her garage.

As a Boulder High parent, I have discovered that the school is a much more tolerant place than the average large high school. Respect for freedom of speech is part of what makes Boulder High special.

O’Reilly tells the world that Bud Jenkins is “the villain.” As Boulder High students are learning, media scandal- makers sometimes tell you much less than the full story.

Gun Control…

In 1929, the Soviet Union established gun control. From 1929 to 1953, about 20 million dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
——————————
In 1911, Turkey established gun control. From 1915 to 1917, 1.5 million Armenians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
——————————
Germany established gun control in 1938 and from 1939 to 1945, a total of 13 million Jews and others who were unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated
——————————
China established gun control in 1935. From 1948 to 1952, 20 million political dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
——————————
Guatemala established gun control in 1964. From 1964 to 1981, 100,000 Mayan Indians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
——————————
Uganda established gun control in 1970. From 1971 to 1979, 300,000 Christians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
——————————
Cambodia established gun control in 1956. From 1975 to 1977, one million ‘educated’ people, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
—————————–
Defenseless people rounded up and exterminated in the 20th Century because of gun control: 56 million.
——————————
It has now been 12 months since gun owners in Australia were forced by new law to surrender 640,381 personal firearms to be destroyed by their own government, a program costing Australia taxpayers more than $500 million dollars. The first year results are now in:

List of 7 items:
Australia-wide, homicides are up 3.2 percent
Australia-wide, assaults are up 8.6 percent
Australia-wide, armed robberies are up 44 percent (yes, 44 percent)!

In the state of Victoria alone, homicides with firearms are now up 300 percent. Note that while the law-abiding citizens turned them in, the criminals did not, and criminals still possess their guns!

While figures over the previous 25 years showed a steady decrease in armed robbery with firearms, this has changed drastically upward in the past 12 months, since criminals now are guaranteed that their prey is unarmed.

There has also been a dramatic increase in break-ins and assaults of the ELDERLY. Australian politicians are at a loss to explain how public safety has decreased, after such monumental effort and expense was expended in successfully ridding Australian society of guns. The Australian experience and the other historical facts above prove it.

You won’t see this data on the US evening news, or hear politicians disseminating this information.

Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws adversely affect only the law-abiding citizens.

Take note my fellow Americans, before it’s too late!

The next time someone talks in favor of gun control, please remind them of this history lesson.

With guns, we are ‘citizens’.
Without them, we are ‘subjects’.

During WWII the Japanese decided not to invade America because they knew most Americans were ARMED!

If you value your freedom, Please spread this anti-gun control message to all of your friends and post it on your sites…

Received from a party that I will not identify for his own personal security.

At first I thought this was funny…then I realized the awful truth of it.
Be sure to read all the way to the end!

  Tax his land,
  Tax his bed,
  Tax the table
  At which he’s fed.

  Tax his tractor,
  Tax his mule,
  Teach him taxes
  Are the rule.

  Tax him if he
  Tries to think.

  Tax his cigars,
  Tax his beers,
  If he cries, then
  Tax his tears.

  Tax his car,
  Tax his fuel,
  Find other ways
  To tax the fool

  Tax all he has
  Then let him know
  That you won’t be done
  Till he has no dough.

  When he screams and hollers,
  Then tax him some more,
  Tax him till
  He’s good and sore.

  Then tax his coffin,
  Tax his grave,
  Tax the sod in
  Which he’s laid.

  Put these words
  upon his tomb,
“Taxes drove me to my doom…”

  Do not relax,
  Its time to apply
  The inheritance tax.

FIREARMS REFRESHER COURSE:

May 19, 2007

Can I get an “AMEN” brother!

FIREARMS REFRESHER COURSE:

1. An armed man is a citizen. An unarmed man is a subject.

2. A gun in the hand is better than a cop on the phone.

3. Colt: The original point and click interface.

4. Gun control is not about guns; it’s about control.

5. If guns are outlawed, can we use recurves or long bows?

6. If guns cause crime, then pencils cause misspelled words.

7. “Free” men do not ask permission to bear arms.

8 . If you don’t know your rights you don’t have any.

9. Those who trade liberty for security have neither.

10. The United States Constitution (c) 1791. All Rights Reserved.

11. What part of “shall not be infringed” do you NOT understand?

12. The Second Amendment is in place in case the politicians ignore the others.

13. 64,999,987 firearm owners killed no one yesterday.

14. Guns only have two enemies: rust and politicians.

15. Know guns, know peace, know safety. No guns, no peace, no safety.

16. You don’t shoot to kill; you shoot to stay alive.

17. 911 – government sponsored Dial-a-Prayer.

18. Assault is a behavior, not a device.

19. Criminals love gun control — it makes their job safer.

20. If guns cause crime, then matches cause arson.

21. Only a government that is afraid of its citizens, tries to control them.

22. You only have the rights you are willing to fight for.

23. Enforce the “gun control laws” we ALREADY have: Don’t make more.

24. When you remove the people’s right to bear arms, you create slaves.

25. The American Revolution would never have happened with gun control.

26. “A government of the people, by the people, for the people…”

PLEASE FEEL FREE TO SHARE THIS WITH PEOPLE WHO THINK THAT “WORDS” ALONE PROTECT OUR FREEDOM.

Hat Tip to Bear!

Dingell, McCarthy, Working on ‘Compromise’ Gun Bill

May 19, 2007

Gun Owners of America E-Mail Alert8001 Forbes Place, Suite 102, Springfield, VA 22151Phone: 703-321-8585 / FAX: 703-321-8408 http://www.gunowners.org/ordergoamem.htm “The Gun Owners of America [has] already launched a public campaignto block the legislation that the NRA supports, warning that theproposal could ‘block millions of additional, honest gun owners frombuying firearms.'” — Newsweek, April 24, 2007 ACTION: 1. It is imperative that you contact your Representative immediatelyand urge him to oppose the McCarthy/Dingell bill. A “compromise”[read: gun control] deal is in the works and all legislators –especially those who are pro-gun — need to hear from gun ownersright away. GOA members have received a mailing from us within the past week, asking them to send postcards to their U.S. Senators. It isIMPERATIVE that you mail those postcards in. We want to increase theheat on these legislators by deluging them with thousands ofpostcards. Now, once you’ve sent in those postcards, we would askyou to e-mail the specially-tailored message that is included belowalong with contact information. 2. Please circulate this alert to all your pro-gun friends andfamily, and encourage them to take action as well. Wednesday, May 16, 2007 Anti-gun Rep. John Dingell (D-MI) continues his assault on Americangun owners. Dingell has been tapped by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to broker acompromise with Carolyn McCarthy (D-NY) on H.R. 297, a gun controlbill being pushed in the wake of the Virginia Tech shooting. The bill provides about $1 billion to the states to “provide theNational Instant Criminal Background Check System [NICS] with allrecords concerning persons who are prohibited from possessing orreceiving a firearm… regardless of the elapsed time since thedisqualifying event.” As GOA has pointed out in previous alerts, this could lead tomillions more Americans being included in the FBI’s database ofprohibited persons. Dingell, being a former NRA board member, is in a unique position inthe Congress on Second Amendment issues. Despite the fact that hebetrayed gun owners by supporting the Clinton semi-auto ban, he isstill viewed on the Hill as one of the few pro-gun Democrats. So his support gives the bill the appearance of having the support ofgun owners, when actually it is the most massive expansion of guncontrol in over a decade. McCarthy, of course, is the most notorious anti-gunner in theCongress. Her sitting down with Dingell to decide the fate of ourgun rights is like two foxes deciding how to best guard the henhouse. To make matters worse, Dingell is in negotiations with the NRA tocome up with a ‘compromise’ as quickly as possible. The NRA itself told Newsweek in an exclusive interview on April 24that the group “backs [the] proposed new legislation” in the House. Newsweek reported, “The NRA’s position puts the group at odds withthe Gun Owners of America, which has already launched a publiccampaign to block the legislation that the NRA supports, warning thatthe proposal could ‘block millions of additional, honest gun ownersfrom buying firearms.'” Politicians always seek to pass laws in the aftermath of a tragedy,as if one more law will stop evil people from doing evil deeds.Instead of passing more and more laws that ultimately will snuff outour liberty, we should consider repealing gun control laws thatprevent citizens from defending themselves when a madman strikes. CONTACT INFORMATION: You can visit the Gun Owners Legislative ActionCenter at http://www.gunowners.org/activism.htm to send yourRepresentative the pre-written e-mail message below. And, you cancall your Representative at 202-225-3121 or toll-free at1-877-762-8762. —– Pre-written letter —– Dear Representative: Gun Owners of America informs me that H.R. 297, a colossal guncontrol bill, is on the fast track. I strongly urge you to opposethis bill. The Virginia Tech tragedy, which Rep. Carolyn McCarthy is using totry to push this bill, highlights the failure, not success, of guncontrol. Instead of passing yet more laws that restrict my Second Amendmentrights, Congress should consider repealing the failed gun controllaws already on the books — laws that increasingly result inlaw-abiding adults being disarmed just when they need their guns themost. Please oppose the McCarthy bill, H.R. 297, and let me know what youintend to do.
