Obamacare leads to no where…

June 26, 2009

Amidst all the various sad stories being splashed across the Internet and airways having to do with the supposedly sad state of health care in America something  has gone by the wayside. That something is called freedom and liberty. The freedom to choose what sort of  coverage that you want, and the liberty to decide if you do,in fact, want or need any coverage at all.

Brought to you by our good friends at The Independence Institute in Golden, Colorado is a presentation addressing exactly this issue.

Obama Care, Teddy Care, and so on…

June 20, 2009

I don’t know about you, but the more I am hearing about “health care reform” the more skeptical I become. From making gun control into a health care issue to deciding who gets what care, and when?

This entire issue is becoming a Trojan Horse from the looks of things. Here’s a thought though. On another thread a person argued in favor of a complete ban on mentally ill people from owning firearms. Alright, that sounds reasonable prima facie. In many places those will mental illness are also banned from voting. Therefore, those afflicted with the mental illness of Hopolophobia will be forever banned from voting, or owning weapons! Fat chance that will happen in this day and age of political correctness.

Obamacare Takes Center Stage

ABC News is lending itself to the Obama administration for the night of Wednesday, June 24, for a live broadcast of ABC World News Tonight from the Blue Room of the White House. This will be followed by an hour-long primetime special entitled “Prescription for America,” which will advocate the Obama health care plan. The Republican National Committee noted that with the absence of opposing views, the programming amounts to little more than a campaign commercial — one that should rightly be paid for by the Democratic National Committee.

ABC predictably took offense and claimed that it will have complete editorial control over the content of the program. Or at least as much control as the White House wants them to have. As columnist Cal Thomas observes, “By the way, guess who’s the new director of communications for the White House Office of Health Reform. It’s former ABC News correspondent Linda Douglass, who left journalism last year to join the Obama campaign.” How convenient.

The network claims it will have “thoughtful” and “diverse” perspectives on the plan, but one noteworthy absence is “20/20” anchor John Stossel, who will not be participating. A pity, too, for if anyone at ABC has the requisite “thoughtful” and “diverse” perspective, it’s Stossel. (See his 2007 health care report for more.)

Obama’s reason for taking to the airwaves is that his proposal is facing stiffer opposition than anticipated. First, his estimate of $634 billion over 10 years is wildly optimistic. The Congressional Budget Office estimates that the plan will cost $1.6 trillion over 10 years and “result in a net increase in the federal budget deficits of about $1 trillion,” despite Obama’s reassurance that his reform (read: takeover) “will not add to our deficit over the next 10 years.” Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus (D-MT) promised to cut $600 billion from the proposal and to pay for it with tax increases, spending cuts and other offsets. House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Charles Rangel (D-NY) said the plan includes $600 billion in tax hikes and $400 billion in cuts to Medicare and Medicaid.

Furthermore, the CBO estimates that 23 million Americans will lose the insurance they currently have, contrary to Obama’s key promise that no one will lose insurance. “[T]he number of people who had coverage through an employer would decline by about 15 million (or roughly 10 percent), and coverage from other sources would fall by about 8 million,” the report says.

Obamacare only tastes good after the alcohol kicks in

The CBO estimate is so ugly for Democrats, The Hill reports, that “lawmakers are talking about changing the chamber’s normal accounting procedures,” substituting estimates from the White House Office of Management and Budget for those of the CBO. So much for “transparency.”

Considering the whole of Obamacare, one Patriot reader declared, “I haven’t heard health care advice so laughable since Lucille Ball flogged Vitameatavegamin on TV. ‘It’s so tasty too. It’s just like candy.’ Has our president been hitting the Vitameatavegamin bottle himself? Not to worry, though. Even though socialized medicine has proven an abject failure in every venue trying it, the United States is such a big country that, like Lucy and Ethel selling homemade salad dressing below the cost of their ingredients, no doubt ‘We’ll make it up in volume.'”

The BIG Lie

“Let me also address an illegitimate concern that’s being put forward by those who are claiming a public option is somehow a Trojan Horse for a single-payer system. I’ll be honest: There are countries where a single-payer system works pretty well. But I believe — and I’ve taken some flak from members of my own party for this belief — that it’s important for our efforts to build on our traditions here in the United States. So when you hear the naysayers claim that I’m trying to bring about government-run health care, know this: They’re not telling the truth.” –President Barack Obama to the American Medical Association

When asked which countries’ citizens enjoyed their socialized medicine, White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs later admitted, “I don’t know exactly the countries. … I assume Canada, Britain, maybe France.” Not the examples we’d pick to bolster Obama’s case.

On Cross-Examination

“It’s hard to know whether President Obama’s health care ‘reform’ is naive, hypocritical or simply dishonest. Probably all three. The president keeps saying it’s imperative to control runaway health spending. He’s right. The trouble is that what’s being promoted as health care ‘reform’ almost certainly won’t suppress spending and, quite probably, will do the opposite.” –Washington Post columnist Robert Samuelson

This Week’s ‘Alpha Jackass’ Award

“I do not want the government to run things. I’ve got enough to do.” –President Barack Obama, attempting the equivalent of a Jedi mind trick: “These are not the droids you’re looking for.”

Anthrax and Al Qaeda coming to your town soon?

June 3, 2009

The utterly pathetic response by the government of the United States in border enforcement has not gone unnoticed by those that truly wish us harm. Both political parties can share equal blame on this issue. The issue is not about racism, that’s a red herring and I refuse to go fishing for that species.

It is however, about national security, and I’m not just talking about economic warfare. It is about criminal gangs crossing the border and committing crimes here in the United States. It is also about collusion between those gangs, and international terrorism. Be that violent criminals from the various drug cartels or maniac Muslim’s.

This all fits in quite well with the current administrations plans to disarm the American public. The “ninety percent” lie and other things that come straight out of the hate America first play book. The DHS is hell bent on lumping anyone that disagrees with the regime into some warped group that includes militia hate groups and other similar fallacies. While at the same time facilitating others that wish every man, woman, and child in America dead.

U.S. counterterrorism officials have authenticated a video by an al-Qaida recruiter threatening to smuggle a biological weapon into the United States via tunnels under the Mexico border, the latest sign of the terrorist group’s determination to stage another mass-casualty attack on the U.S. homeland.

The video aired this year as a recruitment tool makes clear that al-Qaida is looking to exploit weaknesses in U.S. border security and also is willing to ally itself with white militia groups or other anti-government entities interested in carrying out an attack inside the United States, according to counterterrorism officials interviewed by The Washington Times.

The officials, who spoke only on the condition they not be named because of the sensitive nature of their work, stressed that there is no credible information that al-Qaida has acquired the capabilities to carry out a mass biological attack although its members have clearly sought the expertise.

PATRIOT RESISTANCE MOVEMENT

June 3, 2009

It appears that Gunny Bob at 850 KOA is on a rampage, and I don’t blame him one bit. First our fearless leader bows to the king of a country that supplied most of the people that attacked the United States on 9/11, and now he refuses to even acknowledge that the attack on the Arkansas recruiting station was a terrorist act. Certainly the list is much longer. One only has to read the news or the many blogs that are not kowtowing to the impostor in chief to be aware that something is just not right in America. Heck, when Pravda is more truthful than the American MSM it should be a wake up call…

PATRIOT RESISTANCE MOVEMENT

GUNNYISM OF THE DAY
“The CIA and Pentagon both say huge numbers of US military personnel have been killed in Iraq by the Iranian terrorist regime. The State Department lists the Iranian government as a terrorist entity. Obama just formally invited them to join our Independence Day celebrations. Is this fool out of his mind?”

Leftist Paper Had Refused Until Gunny Humiliated The Infamous Rag On The Air

Shortly after Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammad, who received terrorist training in Yemen and was illegally traveling on a Somali passport, attacked a military recruiting office in Little Rock at 10:30AM CT (9:30AM MT) on 1 June, news outlets across the country began urgently reporting the story. The shocking story went national within minutes.

But the Denver Post, run by Obamanista Greg Moore, refused to carry the story of how an Army recruiter’s assistant was killed in the brazen attack, another wounded, and that the terrorist would be charged with 1st degree murder and 15 counts of committing a terrorist act.

By 9:15PM MT, the Post was still refusing to publish the story. Gunny Bob went on the air and immediately began reporting how the Post would not run the story despite major national coverage. He did this repeatedly until 1:00AM Tuesday. At precisely that time, the Post capitulated and published the story 15 1/2 hours after it broke.

And the Post wonders why it is on the verge of extinction.

Politicians hang fire on guns

May 22, 2009

Across the country, ammunition prices are soaring and many guns are in short supply as weapons fly off the shelves at stores. This is a telling economic indicator about consumer confidence as many Americans stock up for fear that the end is nigh. It’s also a logical reaction to gun-owner fears that Democrats will implement far-reaching new gun controls. There is cause for concern. Leaders in the Obama administration and Congress have stated that they plan to limit what guns Americans can buy and that guns should be registered.

There is one thing that can be said of President Obama with certainty — his election has had a phenomenal effect on gun sales.

Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. said Feb. 25 that, “As President Obama indicated during the campaign, there are just a few gun-related changes that we would like to make, and among them would be to reinstitute the ban on the sale of assault weapons.” House Speaker Nancy Pelosi poured fuel on the fire five weeks later by admitting that Democrats want to register guns. “It’s a Democratic president, a Democratic House,” she said on ABC’s “Good Morning America.” “We don’t want to take their guns away. We want them registered.”

The gun controllers are at odds with public opinion. Despite Americans constantly being bombarded with attacks on guns by an anti-gun media, Frank Newport, editor-in-chief of the Gallup Poll, notes that “Attitudes toward gun control have become more conservative, people not wanting gun control.” A Gallup poll released April 8 shows that only 29 percent of Americans support banning handguns. According to Gallup, “the latest reading is the smallest percentage favoring a handgun ban since Gallup first polled on this nearly 50 years ago.”

Popular support for the Second Amendment isn’t lost on all congressional Democrats. On May 12, 27 Senate Democrats voted with 39 Republicans to end a ban on law-abiding citizens carrying legal firearms in national parks. The amendment was attached to unrelated legislation to regulate credit cards. The same tactic was used Feb. 26 when an amendment striking down most of the District’s gun-control laws was attached to a Senate bill giving the District a vote in Congress. Twenty-two Democrats, including Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, voted for this amendment, which passed 62-36.

It’s too early to celebrate Democratic respect for gun rights. Some Senate Democrats who voted for the national park amendment complained that they were painted into a corner on the issue. Sen. Richard J. Durbin, Illinois Democrat, the party’s chief vote counter, told National Public Radio last week that they were concerned about “how many more times they’d have to face such votes.” Democrats are torn between their constituents’ support for gun rights and an Obama administration committed to gun control.

Cheney fires back

May 21, 2009

Dick Cheney fired back again at the impostor in chief today. This never ending chorus of “torture” has become so old it is pathetic to say the least. Mind tricks are not torture. Protecting the nation is a good thing in my opinion. But, then again I am tossed into that terrorist grouping that the DHS published.

Who wants to bet that if there had been another devastating attack here in the United States the same people that are whining about waterboarding would be wringing their hands, and blaming the Bush administration for not having protected the nation..?

Bush and company made more than enough mistakes. The border is still porous while Mexican drug gang activity is on a rather steady increase here in the U.S. Americans still are not, in general, allowed to properly prepare and be appropriately armed to fend off the invasion.

The present administration wants to disarm Americans even more as well as bring terrorist to the mainland. I have a question for gun hating N.Y.C? After what happened earlier today do you still think the rest of the nation should be as powerless as you are?

I don’t care if it is Drug Gangs, or jihad’s, they need to be stopped in their tracks, period.

Obamanomics explained

May 10, 2009

Who will help me plant my wheat?" asked the little red
            hen.

"Not I,"
            said the cow.

 "Not I," said the
            duck.

 "Not I," said the
            pig.

 "Not I," said the
            goose.

"Then I will do it by myself,"
said the little red hen, and so she did. She planted her crop, and
the wheat grew very tall and ripened into golden
            grain.

"Who will help me reap my
wheat?" asked the little red hen.

 "Not
            I," said the duck..

 "Out of my
            classification," said the pig.

 "I'd
lose my seniority," said the cow.

 "I'd
lose my unemployment compensation," said the
            goose.

"Then I will do it by myself,"
said the little red hen, and so she
            did.

At last it came time to bake the
bread. "Who will help me bake the bread?" asked the little red
            hen.

"That would be overtime for me,"
            said the cow.

 "I'd lose my welfare
            benefits," said the duck.

 "I'm a
dropout and never learned how," said the
            pig.

"If I'm to be the only helper,
            that's discrimination," said the
            goose.

"Then I will do it by myself,"
            said the little red hen.

 She baked five
loaves and held them up for all of her neighbors to see. They wanted
some and, in fact, demanded a share. But the little red hen said,
"No, I shall eat all five
            loaves."

 "Excess profits!" cried the
            cow. (Nancy Pelosi)

 "Capitalist leech!"
            screamed the duck. (Barbara Boxer)

 "I
demand equal rights!" yelled the goose. (Jesse
            Jackson)

 The pig just grunted in
            disdain. (Ted Kennedy)

 And they all
painted 'Unfair!' picket signs and marched around and around the
            little red hen, shouting
            obscenities.

 Then the farmer (Obama)
came. He said to the little red hen, "You must not be so
            greedy."

"But I earned the bread," said
            the little red hen.

 "Exactly," said Barack the
farmer. "That is what makes our free enterprise system so wonderful.
Anyone in the barnyard can earn as much as he wants. But under our
modern government regulations, the productive workers must divide
the fruits of their labor with those who are lazy and
            idle.."

And they all lived happily ever
after, including the little red hen, who smiled and clucked, "I am
            grateful, for now I truly
            understand."

 But her neighbors became
quite disappointed in her. She never again baked bread because she
joined the 'party' and got her bread free. And all the Democrats
            smiled. 'Fairness' had been
            established.

 Individual initiative had
died, but nobody noticed; perhaps no one cared...so long as there
was free bread that 'the rich' were paying
            for.

 EPILOGUE

 Bill
Clinton is getting $12 million for his
            memoirs.

 Hillary got $8 million for
            hers.

 That's $20 million for the
memories from two people, who for eight years repeatedly testified,
under oath, that t hey couldn't remember
            anything.

Do you feel safer now..?

Politics, and blindfolds, as in Lady Justice

May 7, 2009

The impostor in chief is about to have the opportunity to not only make history yet again but to put his stamp on generations to come. How so? With at minimum one appointment to the Supreme Court.

Justice is supposed to be blind, not filled with emotion. Not issuing rulings based upon personal desires, but upon law. This is most important when one is a Justice on a Supreme Court, be that of an individual state or the United States Supreme Court. The rulings that are made in those places have an effect all the way down to the individual citizen. They determine how one lives, or dies too as far as that goes.

All too often high courts thwart the intentions of the people that had laws passed in order to achieve their own (the courts) personal agenda. Be that a State Supreme Court or the U.S. Supreme Court. Of note, or example, would be the Colorado Supreme Court trashing the Tabor Amendment, and the U.S. Supreme Court by endorsing ex post facto law that also takes away unalienable rights for less than felony indiscretions. Or mysandry based regulation or law founded within the realm of political correctness.

Part of the duty of those courts is the protection of minority groups, be those racial, political or based upon gender. We have all but put away the arguments based upon racial superiority in America, at least within the legal concept. Racism does still exist in America, as well as everywhere else in the world but we are making headway on that front where as in many other parts of the world it is lip service at best. On the other two fronts we have not really changed much at all. We have simply exchanged one evil for the extreme opposite. That, is where things become incredibly difficult when choosing a Supreme Court Justice.

What follows is from yesterdays Patriot Post about this subject. You read, and decide if someone should be appointed, for life, to a position of near unbridled authority based upon the contents of their crotch, personal penchants, and ability to go with the flow. Or, upon personal integrity, honor, and sense of duty.

“[J]udges, therefore, should be always men of learning and experience in the laws, of exemplary morals, great patience, calmness, coolness, and attention. Their minds should not be distracted with jarring interests; they should not be dependent upon any man, or body of men.” –Johns Adams

Rule of men: “Now, the process of selecting someone to replace Justice (David) Souter is among my most serious responsibilities as president, so I will seek somebody with a sharp and independent mind and a record of excellence and integrity. I will seek someone who understands that justice isn’t about some abstract legal theory or footnote in a casebook; it is also about how our laws affect the daily realities of people’s lives, whether they can make a living and care for their families, whether they feel safe in their homes and welcome in their own nation. I view that quality of empathy, of understanding and identifying with people’s hopes and struggles, as an essential ingredient for arriving at just decisions and outcomes.” –President Barack Obama

From the gun grabbers: “[T]he Supreme Court has ruled in a direction that gives more opportunity for people to have guns. We never denied that right. We don’t want to take their guns away. We want them registered … and we have to rid the debate of the misconceptions that people have about what gun safety means.” –Nancy Pelosi

Non Compos Mentis: “Welcome to Cinco de Cuatro — Cinco de Mayo at the White House.” –Barack Obama (click here for video)

Quite taken with himself: “Everywhere I go, crowds spontaneously assemble. They start to cheer, whether I go to a play on Broadway or I’m going home to Wilmington, Delaware. I walk on the train. People stand up and clap.” –Vice President Joe Biden

Tacky: “If we had pursued what President Nixon declared in 1970 as the war on cancer, we would have cured many strains. I think Jack Kemp would be alive today. And that research has saved or prolonged many lives, including mine.” –Sen. Arlen Specter (D-PA), who fits in just fine with his new party **”Specter’s use of Kemp’s death is not only tasteless but nonsensical. If Republicans killed Kemp by blocking cancer research, how is it that the research they blocked prolonged Specter’s life?” –James Taranto

“That President Obama has made ’empathy’ with certain groups one of his criteria for choosing a Supreme Court nominee is a dangerous sign of how much further the Supreme Court may be pushed away from the rule of law and toward even more arbitrary judicial edicts to advance the agenda of the left and set it in legal concrete, immune from the democratic process. Would you want to go into court to appear before a judge with ’empathy’ for groups A, B and C, if you were a member of groups X, Y or Z? Nothing could be further from the rule of law.” –Hoover Institution economist Thomas Sowell

“Mr. Obama will make Supreme Court history, all right. He will become the first president in American history to make lawlessness an explicit standard for Supreme Court justices. … He has boldly proclaimed that he intends to make sure his nominees to the Supreme Court don’t harbor any crusty fealty to the written Constitution, or the millenniums of Western law that undergird its principles, or to the timeless truths that underlie our Declaration of Independence.” –Judicial Confirmation Network counsel Wendy E. Long

“There is a reason that Lady Justice wears a blindfold. Justice is supposed to be blind to the race, gender, finances, politics — and every other ’empathy’-eliciting — characteristic of those who seek it in good faith.” –columnist Carol Platt Liebau

“It is dangerous in this day and age to use the word ‘fascism’ lightly. Liberals sling around the term ‘fascism’ without regard to its meaning — for the Left, ‘fascism’ applies to everything from religious social perspectives to conservative tax cut prescriptions. But economic fascism has a precise, defined meaning. And Barack Obama’s economic policy fulfills that meaning in every conceivable way.” –radio talk-show host Jerry Doyle

“Liberals do not win elections for Republicans. Conservatives win elections. Whenever conservatives try to placate liberals and show how sensitive and caring and in touch with the feelings and concerns of the other party they are, they lose. But when Republicans stand on principles and demonstrate conviction and give evidence that their ideas work, they win.” –columnist Cal Thomas

“The killer virus for Republicans hasn’t been intolerance inside the party for moderates. What cost Republicans control of the White House and Congress was alleged conservatives behaving too much like Democrats, especially on spending.” –columnist Brendan Miniter

All quotes by former Congressman Jack Kemp (1935-2009)

“As the GOP stumbles around Washington trying to be the party of Herbert Hoover, it’s sad to see so many Republicans drifting so far and so fast from the Reagan model that helped pave the way for the great, non-inflationary economic and jobs expansion of the past 25 years.”

“Democrats are quick to draw parallels with the stock-market crash of 1929. The irony is that it’s mostly the Democrats who want to repeat the mistakes that turned the Crash of ’29 into the Great Depression.”

“The first order of business must be debunking the Democrats’ notion that higher taxes will lead to a more prosperous America.”

“When you tax something you get less of it, and when you reward something you get more of it.”

“Our friends in the other party say the economy is moving forward, and it is. But it is moving like a ship dragging an anchor, the anchor of high taxes, excessive regulation and big government.”

Will the man that refuses to show his real birth certificate choose wisely, or rather based upon political correctness and expediency? Only time will tell.
