As much as most of us wish that the election was over it is not. There are still races that could determine whether the forces of freedom will prevail in some small measure. Or if the socialist juggernaut of the Democrats will simply steam roll us all into some reworked version of the Soviet Union.

Your gun rights may be hanging in the balance, depending on the
outcome of elections in Minnesota and Georgia.
The Democrats currently control 58 seats in the Senate. If they get
to 60 (the number needed to overcome a filibuster), it will be nearly
impossible to stop the gun control agenda of incoming President
Barack Obama.
The Minnesota Senate race between radical anti-gunner Al Franken and
pro-gun Sen. Norm Coleman is coming down to the provisional and
absentee ballots. Sen. Coleman's lead of fewer than 200 votes is
slipping away, while Franken and his legal team are busily trying to
steal the election.
With the growing possibility of Democrats getting to 59 Senate seats,
all eyes are now focused on Georgia.
Pro-gun Senator Saxby Chambliss is in a tight December 2nd run-off
election.
Saxby is "A" rated by Gun Owners of America. His opponent, Jim
Martin, refused to respond to the Gun Owners of America candidate
survey, but he has an anti-gun record from his days in the Georgia
State House.
No wonder that Sen. Charles Schumer, the anti-gun extremist from New
York, is so excited about this race. Schumer, who heads the
Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, is pouring tons of money
into Martin's campaign.
But the stakes are much higher than just getting another anti-gun
Senator. If Democrats can get to the magic number of 60, the minority
Senators will lose their ability to stop any gun control legislation
that is anointed by the leadership. Therefore, a world of
possibilities opens up for anti-gun Senators like Dianne Feinstein,
Chuck Schumer, Dick Durbin and Frank Lautenberg.
President-elect Obama and the Senate leadership know what is at stake
in Georgia. That's why they’re descending on the state by the
thousands and pouring in millions of dollars.
Pro-gunners need to do the same. If Saxby loses this seat, there
will be dire ramifications for years to come. Without the ability to
stop the anti-gun leadership, we could see:
* The reauthorization of the Clinton gun ban;
* Legislation to close down gun shows;
* A ban on .50 caliber rifles;
* Massive expansions of the NICS background check system;
* More and more gun stores put out of business;
* Ratification of an anti-gun UN treaty;
* Lock-up-your-safety requirements like personalized handguns, and
more.
Gun owners, sportsmen and anyone concerned about the erosion of
liberty in this country should engage in this battle in Georgia.

Change! That was the mantra of the Obamasia was it not? Well, so far it appears that we will be having a rerun of the Clinton years. Are we really wanting to see things going on like that again? I mean, after all is said and done can we truly be proud of the things that went on with the “Crew.” From one thing after another it was a very bad time for America. So much change that Hillary Clinton will be Secretary of State?
What follows is from last Fridays Patriot Post, enjoy.
As the Obama administration begins to take shape, “change” has become little more than a bag of recyclables from the Clinton years. On a near-daily basis, it seems, Barack Obama has stocked his shelves with Clinton retreads or other longtime Swamp-dwellers. The next attorney general, for one, will be Eric Holder, Bill Clinton’s deputy attorney general from 1997-2001. Holder was instrumental in returning young Elian Gonzales to Communist Cuba at gunpoint, and in processing that rogue’s gallery of Clinton pardons in January 2001. Nothing like the smell of change…
The post that everyone is talking about, however, is that of secretary of state. Swamp gossip points to Hillary Clinton as the prime candidate, but despite some wishful thinking, it is not a done deal. History has proven that the best secretary of state is the one who acts as the mouthpiece of the president. Think Henry Kissinger or James Baker III. Those who do not promote the president’s ideological stance tend to be failures, pushing America’s foreign policy off the rails. Think Colin Powell. With that in mind, it’s hard to picture Hillary Clinton as the person charged with acting as the international mouthpiece of President Obama.
On the campaign trail, these two held strongly opposing views on American foreign policy. It could be said that Obama wants Clinton on board precisely because she can make up for his own inadequacies in foreign policy. If that is the case, then what does one do about the elephant in the room — i.e., Bill? As we all know, he has made a cottage industry of the ex-presidency, raking in millions of dollars from overseas speeches, consulting and philanthropy. As a private citizen, he’s of course allowed to keep many of his dealings secret, but how many of those secret deals will run into direct conflict with the interests of the United States if his wife is secretary of state? Clintonistas say this is not an issue, which means it’s a huge issue.
Furthermore, Hillary still has a future to consider. She has made a name for herself in the Senate, and another run for the White House isn’t out of the question. However, if she is tied to Obama’s administration and it falters, then she is likely to absorb a share of the blame. Perhaps the best advice came from former UN ambassador John Bolton: “Obama should remember the rule that you should never hire somebody you can’t fire.”
Meanwhile, what happened to John Kerry, who was openly vying the secretary of state post? He was recently named chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee — ironically, the very committee to which he testified in 1971 that U.S. soldiers in Vietnam were committing war crimes. According to Kerry, our military personnel in Vietnam “personally raped, cut off ears, cut off heads, taped wires from portable telephones to human genitals and turned up the power, cut off limbs, [blew] up bodies, randomly shot at civilians, razed villages in fashion reminiscent of Genghis Khan, shot cattle and dogs for fun, poisoned food stocks, and generally ravaged the countryside of South Vietnam in addition to … the normal and very particular ravaging which is done by the applied bombing power of this country.” Kerry then added, “There are all kinds of atrocities and I would have to say that, yes, yes, I committed the same kind of atrocities as thousands of other soldiers have committed.” So now we have a confessed war criminal in charge of the Foreign Relations Committee. That’s a change, all right.

Seems that what I have said over the years, as well as many others have about fiat money is getting some press…
Chagrin Falls, Ohio – Too much credit and easy money. Those were the biggest culprits behind this financial crisis. Yet, apallingly, the government’s rescue attempt is built on more credit and even easier money. That’s like giving a procrastinator a deadline extension. By choosing this course, Washington has steered us on to the “road to Weimar” – the road to runaway inflation.
It didn’t have to come to this. And it still doesn’t. But the proper remedy will take tremendous political courage: Bring back the gold standard. That, more than any byzantine regulations that emerge from the Bretton Woods II conference this weekend, would provide stability and safety for nations and individuals around the world.
Sadly, current policy seems to reflect a desire to weaken the dollar as quickly as possible.
The Federal Reserve’s own data tells the story. The headline is the doubling of Federal Reserve credit, the main component of the US monetary base. Since Labor Day 2008, it’s risen from $894 billion to $2.2 trillion.
That’s the greatest monetary expansion in the Fed’s 95-year history. How the Fed is doing it matters almost as much. It has nearly abandoned its traditional instrument for monetary policy, open-market operations, which involves the purchasing and selling of full-faith-and-credit US Treasury securities. With increasing frequency and amounts, it has relied primarily on “discount window operations” – lending to specific institutions for specific purposes instead of general injections of funds into an open market – since August 2007. This shift may weaken its ability to “tighten” monetary conditions should inflation reach dangerous levels.
A gold standard offers exactly the kind of discipline that’s missing from the Fed. But its impact would be wider: Both in substance and in symbolism, gold provides integrity to the entire global financial system. Governments, however, have historically bridled at the constraint and accountability a gold standard brings. After all, when currency can be exchanged for gold, it’s harder for governments to inflate the money supply, which they’re tempted to do in order to spend beyond their means or cheat on their debts.

Has the time come for a change in the Marine Corps Hymn? Piracy on the high seas has always been a problem. But, in recent history it was more like a gnat on a cows butt. Just not that big of a problem.
Enter those capitalistic souls in the beleaguered nation state called Somalia. Reputedly having ties to various terrorist organizations, as well as those that are just looking to make a few dollars the Somali pirates are morphing into international prominence.
Has the time come to send in the Marines? With some pretty lax, by normal standards, rules of engagement? Heck, Barack Obama could establish a legacy right off the bat that would put him squarely in the same sort of caliber as Thomas Jefferson. Not to mention save the economy of several nations. I certainly do not see George Bush as having the stones, to use a Brit phrase, to get this much needed task accomplished.
In the mean time piracy on the high seas has become a lucrative profession. Read about this up and coming lucrative profession here.

The faux scientist’s took another hit it seems. First the originator of the computer model that pronounced climate change as man made said the model was faulty, and gave faulty results. Then the actual statistics showed that no warming had happened. Then, poor Al Gore had to go into hiding because it was shown that his big pitch was more about lining his own, and his cronies pockets than science. Now this..? What is an eco chicken little freak to do?

A surreal scientific blunder last week raised a huge question mark about the temperature records that underpin the worldwide alarm over global warming. On Monday, Nasa’s Goddard Institute for Space Studies (GISS), which is run by Al Gore’s chief scientific ally, Dr James Hansen, and is one of four bodies responsible for monitoring global temperatures, announced that last month was the hottest October on record.

Israel is always on my mind. For one, or another reason. I myself love Israel having been there on several occasions. I love the courage of the people there. The sheer tenacity for life that the people possess after centuries of being flattened by so many other peoples from all over the world.
When things get really, really bad Israeli’s have much in common with Americans. After all, who the hell else gets so much flak just for being who, and what they are, than Israeli’s, or was that Americans..? Hell, I get so confused about those things.. After all, most Israeli’s are from the former Soviet Union, or Nazi Germany. Sort of like the Irish and Scot Irish in America. They are strangers in a desperate land. Hence, I think, that there is a kinship between the two nations.
I have met many Arabs as well as other Muslims while traveling in the mid east. I have met Jews in most parts of the world. Introduced individualy there have been many fine and just people from both groups. Then, there are those that are so stuck on the Ugly American theme that they cannot get their collective heads extricated from their asse’s. From both groups.
Who the hell has come to the aide of either group when the feces hits the rotating occilator device?
The United States of America. That is who. Call us what you want. Deride us at every opportunity. I simply do not care. I am an AMERICAN!
Read this, and just perhaps you will begin to get a glimmer about what I speak of…

The continuing debate over the current financial crisis aside the dash for the latest government gold rush appears to be in full swing. Government policy started the crisis, not the so-called free market. Now, the government seeks to make matters worse while appearing to make life better. At least for those that have the ability to contribute the millions that it takes to stay in elected office.
When governments attempt to “fix” economies by meddling with the free markets that power them, these would-be market-driven economies become political footballs. Economic decisions that would have been fairly and justly arbitrated by unbiased, natural laws of economics become decided on purely political grounds. Markets lose stability in direct proportion to the extent of such meddling. This is certainly the case with the government “fix” known as TARP, or Troubled Asset Relief Program. The bailout package was originally crafted to relieve banks so that they would remain solvent, preventing further meltdown of the U.S. economy. But with $700 billion up for grabs, TARP’s original purpose was thrown under the bus in the gold rush that ensued. Now everyone wants in on the government’s largess, and markets have reacted accordingly. And why not? Why shouldn’t we all line up to “get ours” if the government is giving away “free” money? Sadly, this seems to be the new American corporate mindset.
Insurance giant AIG, for instance, is now slated to receive more than $150 billion in the largest single bailout allotment from TARP thus far. The government effectively nationalized AIG in the process, establishing a $40 billion stake in the world’s largest insurer. Eager to get in on the TARP lottery, American Express — that’s right, the credit card company — is apparently also now a “bank,” having been so blessed by the Federal Reserve. Evidently unaware of AMEX’s subtle approach, one draping the hat-in-hand recipient in “bank-like” trappings, U.S. automakers are pursuing more blunt-instrument strategies. Their game plan? Simply demand funds from Washington on the basis that, well, they need the cash, and everyone else seems to be getting an awful lot of it lately. Perfect.
The government has committed $290 billion so far without any oversight because Congress has yet to fill the positions it created. Somewhere in all of this thrash for cash is a lesson about the proper role of government in a free market economy. We just hope that this lesson hits home before The Great Depression, Part II does.

“Have you ever had any association with any person, group or business venture that could be used — even unfairly — to impugn or attack your character and qualifications for government service?” –page 7, question 61 of the questionnaire required of prospective Obama administration cabinet members
One among 63 intrusive questions that will serve only to drive qualified people away, this question stood out for two reasons: Obama himself has many troubling associations (though that didn’t seem to matter to 66 million voters), and prospective cabinet members would have to answer, “Yes, I’m associated with Barack Obama.”
Political analyst Rich Galen also observed, “If this were an incoming Republican Administration, I guarantee you the name ‘McCarthy’ would be on every front page in the nation in describing [this questionnaire].”
And speaking of guns, question 59 reads, “Do you or any members of your immediate family own a gun? If so, provide complete ownership and registration information. Has the registration ever lapsed? Please also describe how and by whom it is used and whether it has been the cause of any personal injuries or property damage.”
Memo to Obama: Other than in the twisted world of Washington, DC, guns are not registered, nor should they be.

Ted Nugent, God love him and all that is his! In a recent piece the “Nuge” has received a lot of coverage, and thank God someone is finally listening. He covers things that have been beaten to death on this, as well as other blogs for quite some time. Perhaps his very notoriety will get those ideas noticed. What the heck? Perhaps Ted will even hammer the folks over at the NRA for comprimising away the very rights that they claim to uphold. Seems a little late, but this “coming out” is certainly better late than never. Strong work Blood Brother!
