The Battle of Athens: Time for another in your face confrontation?

The more that some public officials overstep their authority, the more that voters — and others — are stepping up and saying, “Stop!”

The 2014 congressional elections represented a collective shout by voters to politicians and bureaucrats to back off.  Way off.

Consider the case of Arnold Abbott, a 90-year old involved in feeding the needy at the Sanctuary Church in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.  This “scofflaw” is a serial free food dispenser to the poor who come to his church for meals.  

Abbott was arrested by the Ft. Lauderdale police for his supposed threat to the peace of society.  During the arrest, an officer shouted to Arnold, “Drop that plate right now!”

You read that right.  Arnold was not told to “Drop that gun right now,” but rather “to drop that plate!”  Onlookers were outraged and shouted: “Shame on you!” to the officers.

Arnold has beaten the city before in court, and expects to see them in court soon on their new law making his charitable activities a criminal offense.

Ideally, the Broward County Sheriff would inform the Ft. Lauderdale police that they would be arrested if they attempted to arrest Mr. Arnold.  So far, that has not happened.

In other counties, however, sheriffs have interposed themselves between their people and the threat of rogue power from wayward officials.

America’s history illustrates this on a grand scale. Our War for Independence quickly grew from militia encounters to armed resistance directed and financed (however fecklessly) by the Continental Congress.

In the last century, veterans returning from World War II found that their city of Athens, Tennessee was controlled by a very corrupt machine.  When the August, 1946 Democrat primary election (the only election in town) was literally stolen (the police walked off with the ballot boxes), the armed people of McMinn County rose up and rousted the corrupt regime.  Clean elections then gave a victory to the reform slate.

The Second Amendment was intended to protect the people’s personal arms so they would be able to resist tyranny should an American government ever go off the rails of the Constitution and rule tyrannically.  The Battle of Athens was an applied case of what the Second Amendment is intended to make possible.

In Elkhart County, Indiana, the people have elected a Constitutional Sheriff who has had occasion to interpose himself between the Food and Drug Administration and a county dairy farmer. The FDA was threatening to confiscate the farmer’s dairy equipment because they don’t like raw milk — even though they can point to no problems.  Elkhart Sheriff Brad Rogers threatened to arrest any FDA agents making further visits to the farmer’s property.  End of the FDA threat.

The voters of Elkhart County indicated their strong support for Sheriff Rogers’ interposition.  He was just reelected with 75 percent of the vote.

Rogers’ warning to the FDA has kept the peace in Elkhart County.  Let us hope the time will come soon when Broward County will have a sheriff who understands his role as a keeper of the peace against the Ft. Lauderdale food police.

Gun Owners of America has just released its 2014 Voter Guide, which rates all the candidates running for federal office.  Examine the grades of candidates in your state, and see where they really stand on gun rights!

It’s tough being an anti-gun radical like Michael “Big Gulp” Bloomberg these days.

The former New York City Mayor has pumped millions of dollars into his fanatical effort to get gun control passed.

But that money was no match for the massive grassroots resistance that awaited him.  Even liberal media outlets like National Public Radio were forced to report on the unparalleled strength of GOA’s grassroots:

“Gun Owners of America showed with one email alert that it could help flood the phone lines on Capitol Hill days before the Senate vote.” — NPR, December 26, 2013

The result?  Bloomberg lost an epic battle in the U.S. Senate last year — even while media pundits predicted his minions would win.

Within the past year or so, the Bloomberg forces lost ground in several states and failed to pass expanded background checks in many places where GOA was active (like Nevada and New Hampshire).

Having suffered so many defeats, Bloomberg is trying to make an end run around elected legislatures by forcing referendum votes around the country.

And to that effort, “Daddy Warbucks” has pledged $50 million in his crazed effort to remodel this country’s gun laws to resemble England’s.

Turning most gun owners into criminals

Bloomberg’s first attempt at buying a state is in Washington. If he is successful in the Evergreen State, simply owning a gun — without making a tiny mistake which would land you in jail — will be like dancing barefoot in a pit of scorpions.

Bloomberg’s proposal — an initiative which will be voted on in the November election — is 18 pages long.  So the only thing most Washingtonians will know about it is the lies Bloomberg is paying to spew over the airwaves.

Bloomberg’s minions have more than a dozen similar referendums planned around the country for 2015 and 2016.

All of this means that educating and mobilizing the grassroots — and the next generation — becomes even more important.

To that end:

* And GOA has also issued alerts here and here into Washington to mobilize gun owners there.

WYOMING FREEDOM ALERT! More fakery by the forces of despotisim!

The establishment is now plotting a scheme to force Wyoming Gun Owners to disclose its members publicly.

They now want to conveniently punish all “non-offending” groups because of the actions of a slimy shadowy group that spent thousands of dollars to make sure “the Anti-Gun” politicians were elected to office, as well as an all out attempt — to remove two Pro-Gun Champions, Representative(s) Allen Jaggi and Kendell Kroeker from office.

This “fake” group calling themselves the Wyoming Freedom Riders was formed in June of this year.

Revealing the posers they really are, they covertly used a provision under Wyoming law to secretly register their group using a paid organizer — thereby skirting accountability.

Nobody knows who the Wyoming Freedom Riders are, or where their money is coming from.

It may have even come from Bloomberg himself —  flooding several district with bogus mailings.

And we have confirmed that Gun-Grabber Senator John Hastert (D-Green River), also the President of the Anti-Gun AFL-CIO, recruited  a so-called “Republican” to run against Pro-Gun Representative Allen Jaggi.

And of course, there is Absolutely No Outcry from the establishment on this: The fact that Rep Jaggi’s district was the first blanketed with outlandish tales of how bad Wyoming’s Pro-Gun Champion was for Wyoming.

The AFL-CIO is well known for these kind of campaign tactics, so Hastert’s actions should’t be accepted as some kind of coincidence.

It has been estimated that the Shadowy Group spent $30,000 or more in the recent primary elections.

And they may be doing it all over again during the coming general elections in November.

So the picture is clear, it is an — establishment politician nonprofit  — coordinating with the same bad politicians during the elections.

And to make certain their operation remained covert — the fake group’s mailings were “sent in” by no other than an out-of-state mail-house.

These were professional , oversize, full-color printings — the kind you usually see in big campaigns where lots of money is being dropped.

All by a non-profit that was secretly organized, and had absolutely NO public fund-raising.

Is it starting to smell fishy yet?

And to divert the attention away from the establishment hacks, they will run a “False Flag” to — turn their follies around — for their own selfish cause.

Instead of requiring the “shadowing group” to come clean, they have other political aspirations…

As I am writing this, Capitol insiders tell me that now a number of politicians (who don’t vote with us anyway) want to pass legislation that would force all nonprofits, including Wyoming Gun Owners, to disclose all of its members.

How convenient! This is identical to Obama’s IRS puppet — forcing conservative non-profits to disclose their membership!

The gun grabbing politicians simply want their cake, and they want to eat it too.

WyGO will be on the front lines defending our members from this gun-owner registration scheme.

Even if it comes to reorganizing WyGO in a private-business model.

As soon as I have all the bad guys in the line-up, you’ll be the first to know.

And now with the larger, well known, National Gun Organization actually endorsing the same candidates that the fake group was supporting — it’s so telling of just how serious this problem has become in Wyoming.

Wyoming politics has been forever changed for the worse.

And that’s why we’re taking this fight so seriously.

These are similar tactics used to take over states like Colorado.

We must STAND in their way!

Our long-term plan is to meet them head-on.

I can’t give you the details right now, and quite frankly,  I don’t want the bad actors to know what we’re doing.

Civil War in these not so United States..?

This has been an ongoing discussion for many years. Indeed, when I still worked in emergency services it was always a scenario that was discussed and planned for. I retired in 2001, so this really isn’t anything new.

Why then is this being taken so seriously now? In a word, Obama.

Can America survive another Civil War?

Michael Savage starts off his upcoming book “Stop the Coming Civil War: My Savage Truth” with the words:

People can justify a government’s controversial policies and actions for only so long until they see a pattern of abuse of power. Then, even the most devout supporters of any regime must decide if they support these extreme policies and actions or oppose them.

My question is this, he continues. Will the Obama inner circle of extremist left-wing radicals trigger an event that will provoke an American insurrection, even a civil war?

Is this concern to be dismissed as a “right-wing conspiracy theory”?

My own thoughts are along the lines of this being no longer the realm of kooks and conspiracy types. It’s mainstream America, and includes all races and cultures. We are no longer a melting pot. Nor are we kissing cousins. There are a whole lot of very angry people out there, and they are angry for many different reasons. This is indeed a recipe for a not so civil war…

When you have nothing substantive play the race card first! Obama’s new gun control twist

Gun control has been a highly debated issue for decades now, and it’s heating up again. Apparently the Obama administration is going to add racial profiling to the list of issues.

New gun buyers are now being forced to declare their race and ethnicity upon purchase. This doesn’t appear innocent from any perspective. Does it mean that there will be statistics being created behind White House doors to prove which ethnicity buys more guns?

The only way this could become a positive is if a majority of new buyers turn out to simply use them for sport in firing ranges or something equally legal. Almost any other result could end up with the U.S. government claiming that a certain “race” is buying guns for drug trafficking, gang wars, border backlash, or terrorist means.

This could lead to yet another new low in the Obama approval ratings, since it was a highly supported theory that Barack Obama was elected under a strong “minority” vote. Now it looks like gun control racism may be what turns the tide, enraging the masses who voted for him to demand we impeach Obama.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives amended Form 4473 to include an additional area where you must check off whether you are Indian, Asian, black, Pacific Islander or white. This is after checking a box as to whether you are Hispanic or Latino. Failure to check one of those boxes is now a violation capable of forcing a business to shut down.

This new law has little to do with reducing the amount of gun related crimes, and more to do with basic racism. Why does it matter what your ethnicity is when you’re buying a firearm?

Is this the end..?

“Hey, Martin,” he called out across the room at a meeting I attended recently.

He walked closer so that no one would hear what he was about to say.

“What chance do you give our survival as a nation?” he asked.

“Not much,” I said, as I walked off. I did not want to engage in this type of conversation in a setting where eavesdropping ears were nearby. He followed me to an area off to the side of the room where he continued to press me on the issue.

“That’s a terribly morbid assessment there, Martin. I would have hoped that you would not take such a morbid point of view.”

“Morbid or not,” I said, “Those are the facts. Either we face the facts and do something drastic to save us from disintegration as a free nation, or we can go on pretending that this is only a passing phase, a part of a cycle that is to be expected, knowing that the pendulum will swing back in the other direction. The only problem is this time, the pendulum is not swinging back. This is not a passing phase in a cycle. Too many of our freedoms have been annihilated by this government, and too much of the Constitution has been shredded for this to be merely a passing phase.

“What has happened,” I continued, “is that we as a nation have crossed the threshold into a post-Constitutional era. Once that happens our freedoms and liberties and rights are either vulnerable or completely gone.

“Note the lesson of history,” I said. “Once freedoms are trampled upon and rendered inoperative by oppressive government, that government never gives those liberties back to the people. Never. The people are forced to take them back.”

The United States has already outlived all other great nations in history. As noted by the following quote that has been attributed to various and sundry political experts, “Great nations rise and fall in 200 year cycles.” We as Americans are already well beyond that limit.

And as incredibly pessimistic a statement such as the following may be, it is a terrible truth that must be faced — the upcoming election in November is not going to save us from our current fateful course. Too many Americans have thrown in with peddlers of taxpayer funded entitlements that they will continue to vote for them no matter what. Even if the Senate goes Republican we are not out of the woods. Too many of them have aligned themselves with the D.C. elitist class. To be sure there are candidates and elected officials here and there who are trying their best to guard the Constitution and restore the parts that have been shredded. But there are not enough of them.

Thus, so far precious little has been done to stop the ominous tide of “progressive” anti-constitutionalists who are leading us over the cliff. Unless this is stopped, we’re done.

And the next step will be war. Patriots will never start a war due to the fact that most of us hate war with a passion. Americans have never supported war activity unless we were forced into it. The problem is we are gradually being forced into it by the progressive cabal that is firmly embedded in the permanent political class. Sooner or later the forces of anti-freedom will do something stupid and fire off some shots at the citizenry. When that happens all bets are off. There will be no stopping what will follow. Even those of us who do not want any civilians hurt will have little or no say in the matter. Once this genie is out of the bottle, it will take on a life of its own that will be out of our hands

California: The Stealth War Expands: Live Free or Die!

From the very beginning the “Stealth War” has been a broad-based endeavor designed to restore the Constitution to its rightful place as the final rule of law in America. Gun rights have been at the forefront of this war due to the accelerated effort of gun control advocates to take firearms out of the hands of ordinary citizens. But the War is much broader than that. Patriots are fighting for their very lives in an effort to save all of the individual rights protected by the Constitution.

Thus, the Stealth War is about much more than gun rights. It is about free speech, free religious expression, a free press, and the freedom of citizens to assemble with fellow citizens, particularly as it relates to banding together to protest the actions of a rogue federal government. Similarly, another front of this war is the restoration of the necessity of law enforcement to obtain warrants before bursting through the doors of citizens in the middle of the night with their guns drawn. This government has sought to throw out the necessity of warrants. They don’t even think that you must be suspected of committing crimes. Thus, Constitutional rights have been trampled upon in a variety of areas. The Stealth War seeks to restore them all.

And this brings us to yet a new front in this endeavor of patriots to insure that government obeys the law and protects the rights of citizens. The issue here is ammunition. In places such as California, efforts are underway by Democrats, “progressives,” and other totalitarians to restrict the ability of citizens to purchase ammunition. This comes on the heels of their announced intention of restricting the gun rights of citizens. When the progressive leviathans became convinced that gun bans would not work due to massive civil disobedience, they set their sights on the ammunition that is needed to exercise gun rights.

California, thus, is taking direct aim at ammo. The collectivists who run the state now wish to force citizens to get a permit to buy ammunition. If for any reason the state decides you are not worthy of having the freedom to buy bullets, then you are prevented from exercising your Second Amendment rights, no matter how many guns you own.

Perhaps the California collectivists have not heard that patriots can make their own ammunition. If ammo is banned, or if government makes it nearly impossible to purchase ammo, citizens in the liberty movement will make their own ammo on a widespread basis. Many have been doing this for several years now in anticipation of the worst case scenario in which government outlaws the right of citizens to buy ammo. As with the guns themselves, enough Americans can make their own ammo that their activity in this regard will create the largest black market in the history of the world. Americans have demonstrated in the past that they will disobey any law that encroaches on their Constitutional rights by taking it underground. Reference the era of Prohibition. Despite the government’s laws, citizens found a thousand and one ways to make, transport, sell, and buy alcohol.

The bottom line is that citizens are poised and ready to make their own guns and ammunition. No law will stop us. Why? Because any such law is illegal in a free society. We have no intention of obeying illegal laws.

And if for some reason it becomes impossible for citizens in certain states to engage in these activities, smuggling will be used to make sure they get the guns and ammo they need. Smuggling has already occurred in states that have recently passed restrictive gun control laws as an overreaction to the Sandy Hook shooting. Patriots can easily smuggle ammunition into states where collectivist leviathans have made it hard on liberty oriented citizens. If the states continue to encroach on these liberties, the smuggling will only become more widespread and intensified.

Obama and the Democrats who enable him have already shown that they have no hesitation to disregard the law and trash the Constitution in order to advance their illegal agenda. Regardless of the midterm elections this year, the most dangerous president in U.S. history still has two more years in office. Thus, citizens must get set to kick up the Stealth War into high gear if necessary. And the necessity of doing so grows by the day.

Punk ass Obama Administration Retreats

As you will recall, GOA rallied gun owners several times over the past couple of months in opposition to Operation Choke Point.

Well, faced with a devastating barrage from the Second Amendment community, the Obama administration has staged a hasty retreat on its plan to shut off credit for gun stores through “Operation Choke Point.”

According to an article in The Washington Times, “[g]un retailers are no longer on a hit list deemed ‘high risk’ by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. after the banking regulator formally withdrew [this list]” last week.

The FDIC said its efforts to destroy the gun industry “led to misunderstandings.”

But frankly, the only “misunderstanding” in the actions by the FDIC and Eric Holder’s “Operation Choke Point” involved Obama’s misunderstanding of the withering response to his slimy efforts to destroy the Second amendment “by the back door.”alt

With the support of GOA, appropriations legislation in the House had language which would have eliminated Operation Choke Point entirely.  And Harry Reid was forced to pull the bill and derail the appropriations process after Senator Rand Paul, with our urging, threatened to force endangered Democrats to vote on the issue in that chamber.

As is always the case with Barack Obama, one can never assume that he has backed away from his efforts to destroy the Second Amendment.

But last week’s actions are pretty good news for the gun community.  So thanks again for all your hard work!

GOA issues official rebuke to President Obama

As Congress leaves for its August recess, Gun Owners of America is turning up the heat on the White House.

GOA today posted an Open Letter to President Barack H. Obama and pressed him to revise the official White House explanation of the Second Amendment.

Thousands of children across the nation use this official site to get help in understanding the Constitution while doing reports for their civics classes.

Given that fact, the Presidential misunderstanding of our God-given rights — and confusing them with mere privileges — is simply atrocious.

GOA educating the masses as to how guns save lives

While the national media has engaged in a virtual blackout of the tremendous news story out of Darby, Pennsylvania, GOA is helping to spread the news from coast to coast.

As we mentioned in our alert last week, a concealed carry holder in at the Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital saved countless lives on July 24 when he used his firearm to stop a killer who was bent on taking down even more innocent lives.

GOA has published several iterations of this story on its Facebook page … has profiled it on the GOA website … is highlighting this self-defense shooting on other sites and talk shows nationwide … and is currently working on publishing a video for students and media types alike.

Senate Democrats to Hold More Hearings on Gun Control

Senate Democrats Gear up to Push More Gun Control 
— Even after a CCW holder averts a mass shooting in Pennsylvania!

 

“More people are carrying concealed in this country, and yet the gun homicide rate has been dropping precipitously. We are safer today with more guns ‘on the street’ being carried in good people’s hands.” — GOA Communications Director Erich Pratt on WPFL, Florida (July 28, 2014).

There has been incredible news in the 2nd Amendment community over the past several days.

You may have heard that a DC federal judge struck down Washington, DC’s ban on carrying firearms in public on Saturday. Judge Frederick Scullen’s decision referenced the Supreme Court’s decisions in Heller (2008) and McDonald (2010) — arguing that the carry ban violates the U.S. Constitution.

And last week, a concealed carry holder in Darby, Pennsylvania, saved countless lives when he used his firearm to stop a killer who was bent on taking down even more innocent lives.

Police said the armed doctor “saved lives” and prevented a disgruntled patient from walking down the hall and gunning down people “until he ran out of ammunition.”

One would like to think that such good news would serve as an object lesson for our elected leaders.  But not for Harry Reid and his cohorts.

Senate Democrats to Hold More Hearings on Gun Control

Even though the nation just witnessed a perfect example of how guns save lives in Pennsylvania, Senate Democrats are gearing up for another push to restrict 2nd Amendment rights.

It’s an amazing thing, really, especially considering that several D and F-rated Democrats are in tough reelection fights this fall. We are talking about Senators Mark Begich (D-AK), Mark Pryor (D-AR), Mark Udall (D-CO), Mary Landrieu (D-LA), Al Franken (D-MN) and Mark Warner (D-VA).

So, what would you think Senate Democrats on the Judiciary Committee are working on in order to aid their campaigns?

Answer: GUN CONTROL.

And the gun control which is being pushed on these Senators’ behalf is a particularly nasty piece of work.
