The Sky Is Falling On Gore Again

I found this piece, and love it!

Al Gore has certainly secured his place in history. His Academy-Award-Pulitzer-Prize-winning prediction that climate change will raise sea levels by 20 feet will be studied by future history students, along with the predictions of Malthus and Paul Ehrlich.

With Gore-like zeal, in the 19th century, Malthus predicted that the world’s population would soon outstrip the world’s food supply. In the 20th century, Paul Ehrlich predicted that, “By 1985 enough millions will have died to reduce the earth’s population to some acceptable level, like 1.5 billion people.”

He also predicted that by 1980, life expectancy in the United States would drop to 42, and that the U.S. population would drop to 22.6 million by 1999.

The grand prize for idiotic predictions in the 21st century has already been claimed by Al Gore. His insistence that the earth will fry, that the seas will rise, and that life as we know it must undergo a “wrenching transformation” will be studied by his grandchildren with the same appreciation that his, and Ehrlich’s ridiculous predictions deserve.

Is it possible that Ehrlich and Gore really think their predictions are valid? Or, are they just following the instructions of Dr. Steven Schneider, who tells fellow scientists:

“We have to offer up scary scenarios, make simplified, dramatic statements, and make little mention of any doubts we may have. Each of us has to decide what the right balance is between being effective and being honest.” (Discover magazine, Oct. 1989)

Students of Malthus generally agree that he was sincere in his predictions, actively engaging his detractors in debate, and revising his conclusions accordingly. Malthus was sincerely wrong. The same cannot be said about Ehrlich, or Gore. Ehrlich jumped on the environmental band wagon early. His book “Population Bomb” was published in 1968, and was an instant best-seller. He rode the wave of book sales and popularity for a decade, making speeches and writing articles offering excuses for failed predictions and promising even worse consequences for what he called environmental abuse.

Al Gore saw an opportunity to re-claim the political spotlight when he chaired the June 28, 1988 Senate hearing that called Jim Hansen to testify that the current heat wave was caused by global warming. Gore, having been defeated in the 1988 presidential primary by Jesse Jackson in the South, and by Michael Dukakis in the North, turned his attention to the environment, and to global warming in particular.

It was Hansen’s testimony at Al Gore’s hearings that propelled the United Nations’ efforts to get into the global warming business. Before the end of 1988, the U.N. Environment Program, and the World Meteorological Organization established the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change to take charge of global research and action.

Gore’s selection as Vice President in 1992 provided the perfect stage for what was until then, his most influential performance. He publicly ridiculed then-President George H.W. Bush into attending the 1992 United Nations Conference on Environment and Development in Rio de Janeiro where the U.N. Convention on Climate Change was adopted.

Throughout the Clinton administration, Gore was “Mr. Environment.” He directed negotiations at virtually every U.N. Climate Change meeting during the 1990s working toward the Kyoto Protocol. When the negotiations stalled in Kyoto in 1997 because the U.S. Senate adopted a resolution directing the President to not accept the Protocol unless it applied to China and India and other developing nations, Gore flew in to save the day. Despite the Senate’s resolution, Al stood before thousands of U.N. delegates in Kyoto and announced that he had instructed the U.S. delegation to be “more flexible” in their negotiations. At the last moment, the Protocol was adopted, without participation by developing nations.

Al’s crushing defeat in 2000 left him rudderless for a few years, but he re-emerged with his “An Inconvenient Truth.” This spectacular movie won an Academy Award. Gore received the Pulitzer Prize. Once again, Prince Albert ascended to the global warming throne, despite the fact that the film’s assertions were not supported by science, according to more than 31,000 scientists.

Ignoring his critics, and refusing to confront and debate the scientists who clearly refute his hyperbolic hallucinations, Al is now seeking to reclaim the global spotlight. He denigrates those who reject his unfounded predictions, and calls instead for massive national commitment to abandon fossil fuel, and launch a “go-to-the-moon” type campaign to convert all electricity generation to wind, solar, other “alternative” sources in the next ten years.

Gore has been spouting his predictions of climate disaster for more than a decade, while in reality, the global climate has actually been cooling.

The media, and uninformed politicians, gobble up Gore’s gloomy forecasts, just as they embraced Paul Ehrlich’s forecasts of people dying in the streets. History has proven Malthus to be sincerely wrong. History has proven Paul Ehrlich to be ridiculously wrong. History is proving Al Gore to be wrong as well.

But Gore must continue to peddle his predictions. His financial future is tied to his salesmanship. The more he cries “the sky is falling,” when the science says it is not, the more Al looks like a midway barker making whatever claims he thinks will separate the public from its money.

Profiles of valor: USA Sgt. Mora

July 21, 2008

United States Army Sergeant Ezequiel Mora of DeKalb, Illinois, was on patrol in a Baghdad neighborhood in May 2007 when his convoy was attacked. The rear Humvee in the convoy was hit by an explosively formed penetrator, the most lethal of all roadside bombs. The convoy commander and platoon medic were both in the damaged vehicle, and both were badly injured. Mora directed his Humvee to the rear. He ignored heavy fire as he jumped out to aid the trapped soldiers. Mora assisted in rescuing the gunner and administered first aid to the badly wounded medic. He turned his attention back to the wounded gunner and, along with another sergeant, carried him to safety though still under fire from the insurgents. Sergeant Mora saved the lives of many soldiers that day. As a result of his courage and determination, he was awarded the Bronze Star with Valor.

American Gestapo?

July 21, 2008

Barack Obama showed more of his true intentions the other day. Just who will this new force answer too? An American Gestapo is a sure way to a path of revolution here in these not so United States. Others have called me crazy in the past when I reffered to “Authoritarians.”

“According to Obama, the U.S. “cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives we’ve set.” He continued, “We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded.” Whoa there, compadre! (That’s a little Spanish there for the man who wants us all to learn it.) Will this “national security force” also wear brown shirts? Oddly enough, it seems that Obama’s campaign realized that wouldn’t fly—the line was stricken from the transcripts given to the media, though it is still in the video posted on YouTube.”

Taliban resurgence?

July 21, 2008

On Sunday, 200 Taliban fighters attacked 45 American soldiers at a remote outpost in Afghanistan. The Taliban militants crossed the border from nearby Pakistan under cover of darkness, surprising the American troops, who had not yet completed the defenses of their new, makeshift outpost. But despite being outnumbered more than four to one, the valorous American force inflicted grievous losses on the Taliban, who were driven off after a four-hour firefight. Nine American soldiers were killed and at least 15 more were injured. While Leftmedia outlets like The New York Times are pointing to the incident as proof that we are losing in Afghanistan, we think it shows that our courageous soldiers are capable of winning against overwhelming odds, especially when they are given the right strategy and support.

To that end, the Pentagon has dispatched the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln to the Gulf of Oman, where it will provide air support for U.S. special forces. Democrat and Republican lawmakers have confirmed that the White House has authorized a plan to deploy commandos deep into Pakistan’s tribal areas, where al-Qa’ida and the Taliban have been operating freely. The decision comes after a tumultuous debate among President Bush’s staff. In light of Islamabad’s failure (and even unwillingness) to rein in the Islamic terrorists within its borders, we believe that President Bush’s decision to take more aggressive action inside Pakistan is the right one. As the improved situation in Iraq clearly shows, an insurgency can be defeated, but only when its havens are no longer safe.

White in America

July 21, 2008

White In America!

For those of you that watched “Black in America” on CNN, you might be interested in how it is to be White in America

1. We are racists. WE can not use the “I have a black friend” excuse, it doesn’t work. WE have either owned a black person or OUR family has, and therefore WE as white people OWE every Black person in America something.

2. WE are in control of ALL money in America, WE have the ability to hire anyone, and WE never hire black people because they are black. That is the rule.

3. When Black folks walk past US and WE grab your wallet or purse, that is a racist response no matter where WE are or what time of day it is. IT is acceptable however to open OUR wallet or purse and empty the contents on the sidewalk and run because (see #1 WE OWE THEM).

4. WE vote for Barak Hussein Obama because you owe black people.

5. WE don’t vote for Barak Hussein Obama because you are racist.

Oh and according to all politicians, movie makers, media outlets, sitcoms, radio hosts, bloggers or basically ANYONE saying anything… White, hetero sexual, Christian, Males are the reason for everything bad in America. However; if you mention any facts that do not agree with that assertion YOU ARE A RACIST!

I hope one day to see true racial equality, I hope one day to see the end of the victim mentality in America, and the start of the personal responsibility era, maybe my grandchildren will see it but I honestly believe it is ingrained in the culture now. Oh Shit I must now be a racist.

Why the Left can’t get it Right

July 21, 2008

By Mark Alexander

Ask a liberal about some manifestation of his worldview—for example, why he supports charlatans like Barack Hussein Obama, Hillary Rodham Clinton, Albert Arnold Gore, Jean-Francois Kerry, et al., and he invariably predicates his response with, “Because I feel…”

Ask a conservative about what he believes, or why he does or doesn’t support John McCain, and he invariably predicates his response with, “Because I think…”

It has always been easier to “feel” rather than “think,” and that is why our national culture, and by extension, national politics (see Democrat Party Platforms) reflect only the most rudimentary remnants of the guiding principles established by our Founders. Of course, though Republican Party Platforms are more consistent with our Founding principles, Ronald Reagan was the last Republican president to stand firmly in support of those principles.

Liberalism tends to appeal to the worst of human instincts—greed, envy, laziness, victimization and every line of division. Its practitioners appeal to constituent “feelings,” and they thus convert emotions into political capital.

Leftist pathology is deserving of its own category on the short list of personality disorders, and liberal politicians have one uniformly defining characteristic: hypocrisy.

Liberal politicos advocate populist themes but are consummate elitists. They feign concern for the plight of the poor while hobnobbing with the richest of the rich. They are charitable with everyone’s income but their own. They decry school vouchers yet send their children to the finest academies. They hate SUVs, unless they are expensive imports. They advocate mass transit but commute on private jets. They express concern for the homeless yet maintain multiple manors.

Liberals advocate diversity, unless your views don’t comport with their own doctrines of moral relativism. They want to preserve nature and the natural order but advocate homosexual “marriage.” They oppose the death penalty for the most heinous of criminal sociopaths, but they support the execution of unborn children in their mothers’ wombs. They believed that one nut who bombs an abortion clinic deserves far more law-enforcement attention than jihadi cells planning the 9/11 attacks. They called 9/11 victims “Little Eichmanns” while calling their murderers “oppressed.” They “support our troops” while calling for retreat and surrender.

Liberals call for “change” but are firmly committed to the status quo. They oppose nuclear power production while complaining about “global warming.” They call for racial, ethnic and religious harmony, but they rally constituencies by fomenting division and hate. They deride moral clarity because they can’t survive its scrutiny.

Indeed, liberals have turned the wisdom of their iconic sovereigns inside out.

Then: “My fellow Americans: ask not what your country can do for you—ask what you can do for your country.” —John F. Kennedy, Inaugural Address, 1961

Now: “Ask not what you can do for your country, ask what your country can do for you.”

Then: “I have a dream that my children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.” —Martin L. King, Address from the Lincoln Memorial, 1963

Now: “I have a dream that my children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the content of their character but by the color of their skin.”

Liberals have replaced the original Constitution with their so-called “Living Constitution” so that they can insist on viewing the First Amendment through a wide-angle lens—except, of course, the “freedom of religion” part, where they opt to censor Christianity while imposing secular atheism. They advocate a “Wall of Separation” between church and state, but they tear down any obstacles between your income and the state. Of course, they also insist on viewing the Second Amendment through a pinhole.

Liberals protest economic recession, all the while suppressing economic growth with evermore taxes and regulations. Most of them are card-carrying members of the ignoble ranks of “useful idiots,” those Western apologists for Marxist-Leninist-Maoist collectivism. Of course, that card reads: “Member, Democrat National Committee.”

I have no doubt that you’ve already come up with a list of additional examples of liberal hypocrisy. Unfortunately, there isn’t enough bandwidth on the Internet to compile a comprehensive list here. (Feel free to post additional examples on our reader comments page.)

Liberal and conservative worldviews often collide for this reason: Disciplined conservatives put God first, family and country second and themselves third, while liberals tend to put themselves first, their country last, and serve gods made in their image. This is the most defining philosophical distinction between these two groups.

As we approach the next presidential election, Leftmedia types suggest that most Americans are in the middle—“moderate” or “centrist.” But political researchers are finding that we are in fact a deeply divided nation, with many voters strongly identifying with either conservative or liberal doctrines.

Let’s hope and pray that more of our fellow Americans, those guided by their feelings, will think better of this process and vote on right-minded principles. Otherwise, it will be difficult to seat candidates who, in the words of Samuel Adams, possess the qualities of “wisdom and knowledge, of moderation and temperance, of patience, fortitude and perseverance, of sobriety and true republican simplicity of manners, of zeal for the honour of the Supreme Being and the welfare of the commonwealth…”

Sort of reminds me of something we were taught in Devil Pups on Camp Pendleton all those years ago. God, Family, Country, Corps…

Boston Tea Party 2008

July 21, 2008

Join in NRA and GOAL’s “Boston Tea Party 2008!” In 1998, former Massachusetts Governor Paul Cellucci (R) signed a law into effect that continues to violate our Second Amendment rights.   Wednesday, July 23 will mark the ten-year anniversary of the signing of the Gun Control Act of 1998.  Chapter 180 of the Acts was signed with the ill-conceived notion that crime and violence would be eradicated from the streets.  Not only has this notion proven to be incorrect by the increase in criminal activity, but it’s also been in direct violation of our Second Amendment rights.  As a result, July 23, 2008 will be known as the “Boston Tea Party 2008” and the National Rifle Association, in conjunction with the Gun Owners Action League (GOAL), are encouraging members to send a symbolic message to our elected officials that we want them to repeal Chapter 180.  We are asking members to send this note, as well as a tea bag, to your elected officials to let them know, just as our forefathers did, that unfair treatment against lawful gun owners will not be tolerated.  To find contact information for your State Legislators, please click here.

D.C. Refining of Gun Laws–Offensively Stupid

July 21, 2008

Washington D.C. is not into following the law it would appear. At least when it doesn’t suit them is probably a more accurate way to phrase the situation.

Only a few weeks after the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling in the Heller case, which struck down D.C.’s ban on handguns and allowed having a firearm in operable condition at home, D.C. has passed “emergency” law and new police regulations intended to retain as much of the ban and storage requirement as possible. The law was crafted in consultation with the Brady Campaign, according to the Washington Post.

There are many objectionable features to the new D.C. law and regulations, but two stand out as particularly egregious. Though the Supreme Court ruled that D.C. could not ban handguns, the new rules would still ban all or most semi-automatic pistols. And in spite of the fact that the court ruled that D.C. cannot ban the use of guns for protection in the home, the District still prohibits having a gun loaded and ready unless an attack within your home is imminent or underway.

Without Congress’ intervention, D.C. can violate the intent of the Heller decision indefinitely. That is because under “Home Rule,” D.C.’s emergency bills are not subject to review by Congress, and D.C. can reinstitute “emergency” laws every 90 days. The city’s officials are already thumbing their noses at the Supreme Court.

Personally, I would love it if the Supreme Court charged all those involved in these shenanigans with contempt and had them paraded before the Court dressed in those pretty orange jump suits, on television, and had some serious discussions with them.

Denver, and the DNC a Target rich Environment

July 19, 2008

I was speaking with a few former coworkers the other day about the upcoming convention. It appears that yes indeed, there is trouble on the horizon. Paramedics and Firefighters will be targeted just like the police will be by several anarchist groups. Before long I was asked about defensive measures that they could take.

I will not go into specifics here about those moves. Why tip off opponents as to how you are preparing? Operational security is just as important here on what very well prove to be some very mean streets as it is in military planning.

After a bit one guy asked why I thought that the place could become a hell hole in a hand-basket. It really is a simple explanation.

  • The DNC will have concentrated various disparate groups that all have opponents that are willing to use violence as a means of forcing their will upon all of the rest of us.
  • Professional hell raisers are already saying that they will cause civil unrest.
  • Mayor Hickenlooper is a negotiating wimp. He would rather try and talk his way out of a wet paper bag than use a knife to free himself.

So, we will, or very well might have groups that hate major components of the Democrat Party. There are Muslim extremist among us that operate in a state of misogyny. There are Christian extremist that would rather set off a bomb among the homosexuals than pray for them. There are racist groups that will not stand for the possibility of a black President. Then there are groups like recreate68, that just want death and destruction, along with fifteen minutes of fame. There are far right extremist’s that will have Wayne Pachelle and many other people that are on their “ten most wanted ” list.

Now they have moved the final ceremonies to Mile High Stadium at Invesco Field … The place is ; A Snipers dream. A Morter mans dream. A Chemical Weapons fighters dream, and, the list goes on.

Game thieves … Gotcha!

Folks, I happen to really like folks from Akansas. But even in the best kettle of Cod, there are a few that stink up the barrel.

ARKANSAS MEN GUILTY IN COLORADO POACHING INCIDENT

The Colorado Division of Wildlife (DOW) has wrapped up the poaching case against six Arkansas men with the final two suspects entering guilty pleas in Moffat County District Court.

In late 2005 Colorado Wildlife Officer Mike Bauman began hearing stories about a group of Arkansas hunters who were poaching in the Bible Back Mountain area south of the Colorado-Wyoming border. During the 2006 hunting seasons Bauman was able to determine that a group of men from Arkansas were, at a minimum, buying leftover licenses for Game Management Units 4 and 12 but most likely hunting in Game Management Unit 5.

In 2007, wildlife officers set up a hunting camp in the area and posed as hunters to gather evidence against the group. Officers were able to document two deer that were killed without proper licenses, trespassing on private land, wounding of deer without following up on shots as required by law, and the illegal killing and willful destruction of one buck deer by two members of the hunting party.

“It was blatant poaching. At one point, individuals in the Arkansas camp were seen shooting and killing a deer then tying the head to a tree so they could later return and claim the antlers,” Bauman explained. “The incident occurred on private land the men had no permission to enter and in a unit for which they didn’t have a license.”

It was determined that the hunters were staying across the Wyoming border and Colorado officers contacted investigators with Wyoming Game and Fish to request assistance with monitoring the group at and around their Wyoming motel.

As the Arkansas hunters were packing up and preparing to leave for home, Colorado wildlife officers caught up with part of the group to interview them and charge the suspects. Additional members of the group were detained by Wyoming officers who also collected evidence from the hotel and from a Wyoming meat processor. Based on interviews with the group, wildlife officers determined that, in addition to the 2007 violations, at least three deer were illegally killed in 2006. Assistance was requested from wildlife officers in Arkansas who collected evidence from the men’s homes.

“We appreciate the cooperation we received in this case from Wyoming Game and Fish and Arkansas Game and Fish,” added Bauman. “While we had some of the charges locally, the evidence that was obtained from previous years and from the hotel made it possible to show an ongoing pattern of poaching violations.”

Based on the investigation the following individuals were charged:

William Newton (DOB 06/06/1983), Hampton, Arkansas
Plead guilty to following charges as part of plea agreement:
1 count – Illegal take of three or more big game animals
2 counts – Waste of edible game wildlife
1 count – Illegal possession of a deer
4 counts – Hunting without a license
Sentencing: 30 days in jail, $9,500 fine plus court costs, forfeiture of rifle and illegally taken wildlife.

Bradley Shankles (DOB 06/21/1983), Hampton, Arkansas
Plead guilty to following charges as part of plea agreement:
1 count – Felony willful destruction of wildlife
2 counts – Hunting without a license
2 counts – Illegal possession of a deer
1 count – Waste of edible game wildlife
1 count – Defacing a firearm
Sentencing: Deferred sentence on felony willful destruction charge, fine of $5,000, four year ban from hunting in the United States, four years of supervised probation, $2,000 donation to Operation Game Thief, forfeiture of rifle and illegally taken wildlife.

Richard W. Carson (DOB 03/14/1964), Hampton, Arkansas
Plead guilty by payment of citation
1 count – Failure to pursue wounded wildlife
1 count – Hunting deer without a license
1 count – Illegal possession of a deer
1 count – Unlawful trespass on private property
Warning – hunting without orange clothing
Carson chose not to contest the charges and instead plead guilty by paying $2,041 in fines. He was assessed 65 points against his hunting privileges.

Michael B. Welch (DOB 07/18/1983), Bearden, Arkansas
Plead guilty by payment of citation
1 count – Hunting deer without a license
1 count – Illegal possession of a deer
Warning – Failure to tag
Welch chose not to contest the charges and instead plead guilty by paying $1,781 in fines. He was assessed 30 points against his hunting privileges.

Anthony Moser (DOB 05/02/1987), Hampton, Arkansas
Plead guilty by payment of citation
1 count – Hunting deer without a license
1 count – Illegal possession of a deer
Moser chose not to contest the charges and instead plead guilty by paying $1,781 in fines. He was assessed 30 points against his hunting privileges.

Harlan C. Welch (DOB 01/12/1976), Hampton, Arkansas
Plead guilty by payment of citation
1 count – Uncased rifle on an ATV
Warning – Unlawful trespass on private property
Welch chose not to contest the charges and instead plead guilty by paying a $68 fine. He was assessed 5 points against his hunting privileges.

Five of the six men still face an administrative hearing process that will be conducted by the Colorado Wildlife Commission. Anyone assessed more than 20 points against hunting and fishing privileges is subject to wildlife hunting suspension hearings. The men could lose their hunting and fishing privileges in Colorado and 27 other states that are members of the Wildlife Violator Compact. Hearing dates have not yet been set for the men.

“Colorado has the largest migratory mule deer and elk herds in the nation,” concluded Ron Velarde, Northwest Regional Manager for CDOW. “Because of that spectacular resource we attract hunters from around the world. We welcome those who come here to experience what our great state offers, but we absolutely will do everything possible to catch those who believe that our remote areas provide enough cover to cheat and steal from Colorado’s citizens and true sportsmen.”
