Remembering: The day the earth stood still 9/11

September 10, 2010

Remembering  this day… I think that perhaps the best way to honor the thirteen men that I knew, trained, and worked with might be best served by simply not posting. That is why this is an hour and fifteen minutes early. Our attention, rather, should be guided toward remembrance of those that died that day. The professionals that did their duty, and paid the ultimate price, as well as the overt victim’s.

America, as in the United States of America. Is not about bowing, even a head nod, to those that wish the destruction of Freedom and Liberty.

The “American Dream” is not about owning a home. It is not about being overpaid for the work that you do. It is not about gaining personal power. It is about having the ability to actually do those things!

Read the Declaration of Independence.

Read the Constitution.

Read the Bill of Rights.

Think about it… Being an American, philosophically is a Natural Human Right!

Time is up. I’ll post links tomorrow.

Christmas Miracles: Cor Zero Mother and baby both make it!

December 30, 2009

Miracles do still happen, and no, after more than twenty years in Emergency Medical Services don’t come to me and say that it was all the Doctors, Nurses, and Technicians.

Irrespective of what you see on television the truth of the matter is that neurological saves are a rare event. Much less  two at the same time. Merry Christmas, and many more to follow thanks to a dedicated resuscitation team, and some help from above!

DENVER – Mike Hermanstorfer was clutching his pregnant wife’s hand when her life slipped away in a Colorado hospital on Christmas Eve, and then he cradled his newborn son’s limp body seconds after a medical team delivered the baby by Cesarean section.

Minutes later he saw his son come to life in his arms under the feverish attention of doctors, and soon he learned his wife had inexplicably come back to life.

“My legs went out from underneath me,” Hermanstorfer said Tuesday. “I had everything in the world taken from me, and in an hour and a half I had everything given to me.”

Time is Running Out for President to Free Border Agents

November 12, 2008

Regular readers of this blog are more than well aware that my feelings toward President Bush and his cronies are anything but kind on many issues. Illegal immigration is one of those things and related to that issue is the shear terrorism that the Bush Administration has committed against those that put their lives on the line every single day. When the Justice Department flays those that protect us what is there to fall back upon? The power of the President, that is what. I will not bother with listing what many consider to be abuse of power by past Presidents using the power of the pardon. I seriously doubt that I would live long enough to do so. Not to mention that something like that, by it’s very nature would be quite subjective.

This brings us to the cases of Border Patrol Agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean. The trial was a farce, pure and simple. Those men were railroaded by U.S. Attorney Johnny Sutton. I know it, anyone, including President Bush knows it, and now it is past the time to do what is right and correct. President Bush, pardon in full these two brave men that put their butts on the line for the United States of America.

This is yet another bald faced example of the failure of the War on Drugs. No, I am not at all in favor of drug use. I am also very much in favor of line soldiers in that war. In plain English, if you are for this war, you are for making thugs and murderers into wealthy people. That, after all, is the end result of the war on drugs. In more than twenty years working the streets of Denver and the Front Range I saw precisely four, that’s correct four, people that died from taking drugs, or those that were driving while under the influence of drugs. I saw in that same time several Officers from different agencies, Firefighters, and by standers including small children killed or wounded as a direct result of the drug war. It’s time for change alright, change from a policy that was brought upon us by another President.

President Bush needs to step up to the plate and pardon these men.

An Unknown running for President!

August 28, 2008

Friends, Coloradans, Countrymen! Lend me your ears, for an (almost) unknown (outside EMS circles) man among men is running for President of these United States of America!

A man of immense integrity  and strength, he tells Flight Nurses where to go! As well as the occasional Paramedic, Police Officer, Sheriff, and Fire Chiefs! Most often because they are lost, but that is a subject for another day! 🙂

My friends, this is the man that you want when things get tough! Such as when he was doing a ride along with me, and a rather large drunk at the old Jeffco Detox decided that I would look much better if my nose was sticking out of the back of my head. I simply looked at Chris, and said “Sick’Em!.”  A single glance at Chris, and things with the drunk suddenly became easier.

I also know the mans family, and his Father ( May he rest in peace for all eternity, and Mother have always been proud of this country’s heritage. Heck! I mean, his Father used Browning shotguns to hunt with!

Chris Smith

for

President

Yes, this is posted in jest. But in all seriousness folks? I can think of a lot worse people being President of these not so United States of America. I could start with Barak Obama, and John McCain.

My name is Patrick Sperry

Once upon a time I was a passing fair Paramedic from Saint Anthony’s Paramedic Program, Cycle 32… God bless you Gerry, where ever you are!

For some reason, I can’t find a link about the Father of Pre-Hospital Emergency Medicine right now. I suppose that it is the tears in my eyes. In any case? Vote for Chris Smith for President of the United States of America! Hell, Tom Tancredo doesn’t even answer emails any more…
