Lose all your Guns before 2035 under the Amnesty Bill before the Senate

June 9, 2013
We’ve written you before about the immigration amnesty bill that will be debated on the Senate floor beginning June 10.
We had just been through a hard fight to stop gun bans and registration.  And some of you may have even felt the immigration amnesty was not a “gun” issue.
But if the amnesty bill is passed, within 20 years, Washington could be as anti-gun as Albany, Hartford, and Sacramento.
This is because the bill will create at least 11,500,000 new citizens — but probably closer to 20,000,000 — and, if history is any guide, they will vote 71% of the time for far Left Democrats like Barack Obama.
Impartial analysts have determined that Florida, Colorado, Nevada, and probably Arizona will never vote for Republicans again. Given this, for the rest of your life, the White House will be occupied by someone who is just as anti-gun and just as liberal as Barack Obama.
Conservatives in the Senate think that they can woo new immigrants to their side of the aisle. But it is informative that, after the last amnesty bill (the 1986 Simpson-Mazzoli bill signed by Ronald Reagan), those people given citizenship were LESS LIKELY to vote for more conservative and constitutional candidates.
Currently, the two political parties nationally, stand in a delicate political balance. Mitt Romney lost the presidency by 334,000 votes in four states (Florida, Ohio, Virginia and New Hampshire).
So if you add a net gain of almost 8.5 million Obama voters to the electorate, the same amnesty that turned California “blue” will probably turn the whole country anti-gun as well.
Already, the calls for gun confiscation in “blue” and “purple” states are growing louder and louder:
  • New York Governor Andrew Cuomo said that “confiscation could be an option” after the Sandy Hook shooting;
  • Likewise, an Iowa legislator said that we need to “start taking” guns from law-abiding gun owners;
  • This year, legislation in both Minnesota and Missouri would have (if enacted) forced residents to cough up their high-capacity magazines and many of their semi-automatic firearms;
  • And legislators in New Jersey were recently caught on an open microphone saying that “we needed a bill that was going to confiscate, confiscate, confiscate.”
By 2035, the battle will no longer be about stopping the expansion of background checks.  Most likely, it will be about stopping the government from coming to take your guns away. And there is nothing we will be able to do about it.
ACTION: Click here to contact your Senators and urge them to vote against the anti-gun immigration amnesty bill.

“They stood and they watched and our people died.”

October 22, 2012

Unforgivable, that is what the current administration is. Read about this episode of “The obama follies.”

HERE

Then there is the ongoing saga of “Let’s kill Americans and Mexicans so that we can get our way!”

Fast & Furious is in the news again.  The Obama Administration this week filed court papers to get the lawsuit filed by the House of Representatives against Attorney General Eric Holder thrown out.
The House lawsuit asks the court to reject a claim of executive privilege by the President, who sealed thousands of documents relating to Fast & Furious, a Justice Department operation that facilitated the smuggling of thousands of U.S. weapons south of the border.
The administration calls the House lawsuit a mere “political dispute” between the branches of government.  But this is much more than a political dispute.  People died as a result of Fast Furious, which makes it much worse than even Watergate where no one died.  Fast & Furious has led to the deaths of more than 200 Mexicans and at least one U.S. federal agent.
On a somewhat positive note, GOA asked you last week to urge Paul Ryan to bring up Fast & Furious in his debate with Vice President Joe Biden and to send your request through the Romney-Ryan website.
Well, Ryan didn’t bring up the point, but Mitt Romney did this week during the presidential debate as he told the American people — some who were probably hearing this for the first time — that Fast & Furious guns were used to kill people on both sides of the border.  “They [drug lords] used those weapons against – against their own citizens and killed Americans with them,” Romney said. “And this was a … program of the [U.S.] government.”
Romney then went on to challenge the President for using executive privilege to cover up the administration’s role in Operation Fast & Furious:  “[I]t’s one of the great tragedies related to violence in our society which has occurred during this administration. Which I think the American people would like to understand fully, it’s been investigated to a degree, but [the] administration has carried out executive privilege to prevent all of the information from coming out.”
There it is — the invoking of executive privilege by the Obama Administration, which was simply an attempt to cover up details as to why the U.S. government would help send guns south of the border.  Of course, we in the gun-owning community know why.  It was an attempt to justify support for new gun regulations.
As stated by Sharyl Attkisson of CBS News:  “[Justice Department] emails show they discussed using the sales, including [Fast & Furious] sales encouraged by ATF, to justify a new gun regulation called ‘Demand Letter 3.’ That would require some U.S. gun shops to report the sale of multiple rifles or ‘long guns.’”
In other words, Operation Fast & Furious was intended to help the administration justify calls for a new gun registration scheme, which was eventually implemented (illegally and without Congressional authority) in four southwestern border states.
Thanks again for your activism last week in encouraging the presidential ticket to bring up Fast and Furious, so that it doesn’t get lost in all the campaigning.  GOA is currently traveling across the country and joining with pro-gun candidates to draw attention to Fast & Furious, as well.

The Farce called a debate…

October 12, 2012

Stolen from my friend and fellow conservative blogger. Fred expresses my own sentiments quite well.

Joe Biden was argumentative, rude, he interrupted, he was a disruptive force and he had an ally in Martha Raddatz.

Joe Biden came off as an oafish ass, in other words, Barack Hussein Obama got his wish, Joe was just being Joe.

Joe Biden had NO real argument, nothing that made sense, so he ranted and laughed a lot, he came off as highly unprofessional and NOT as someone that would make you feel the least bit confident if he were to have to take up the mantle of President.

Paul Ryan was trying very hard to use facts and figures but he was allowing Joe Biden to interrupt. Ryan was interrupted and challenged by Martha Raddatz on several occasions and he was far too polite for MY taste.

BUT … Ryan was far more professional, and gave a fine showing of himself.

It was VERY obvious, at least to me, that Martha Raddatz was a *partner* for Biden, a tag-team partner on several occasions. When Ryan was making a telling point Raddatz would interrupt, question Ryan herself, actually challenge him or change the topic and move back to Biden.

Much was made about Raddatz and her Obama Connection and many had hoped that she could put that aside and assume at least some degree of journalistic integrity.

That was NOT to be the case.

To Ryan’s credit, he didn’t get into any heated exchanges with Joe Biden, maybe this was running through his mind: If a wise man contends with a foolish man, whether the fool rages or laughs, there is no peace. Proverbs 29:9

I heard one of the FOX talking heads say that this debate was not terribly important because no one ever votes based on who the #2 was on the ticket.

THAT is pure BULLSHIT!

I know quite a few people that claimed they didn’t vote for McCain in ’08, they said their vote was for Palin, and that is the most STUPID thing they could have EVER said.

Not to be bashing Palin, but to vote for a particular candidate because you don’t like him but you love his running mate? Seriously?

If McCain has won HE would be POTUS and Sarah Palin would have been the Joe Biden of McCain’s administration, the Palin GAFFE machine.

OK, so I bashed her a little. :P

I don’t believe Paul Ryan WON the election for Mitt Romney; it will take Romney totally eviscerating Obama in the next 2 debates to make that happen.

I also don’t believe Biden did Obama any real favors. The VP Debate was a chance to see what the #2 guy was made of, and frankly, I liked what I saw in Paul Ryan a lot more than ANYTHING I saw from Joe Biden.

“Blame Bush” With “Blame Romney” anything but blame where blame is due!

September 23, 2012

Has Mitt Romney sewed up the 2012 election and begun issuing policy pronouncements via the Office of the President-Elect?  That’s what you’d think to hear mainstream news commentators tell it.

Witness the media uproar over Romney’s absolutely true, courageously firm observation that President Obama’s State Department is more interested in sparing the feelings of Muslim terrorists than standing up for American values.

Rather than evaluating and refuting his charges; rather than critically reexamining Obama’s approach; rather than considering the repercussions of the President’s conciliatory stance toward our enemies; liberals… blamed the crisis on someone who doesn’t even work for the government.

Rachel Maddow cried that we were in the middle of a tense, hair-trigger confrontation requiring suave diplomatic prowess, and that Romney may just have sent rioting protestors over the top.

Newsflash, MSNBC hosts: Rioting protestors were already over the top—literally, in the case of the embassy walls they scaled and the black Al Qaeda victory banners they hoisted after tearing down and burning American flags in Egypt and Libya.

Fanatic Muslim savages don’t need an excuse to wreak havoc against the West.  A few boilerplate conservative statements by an American presidential candidate don’t rouse them from a stance of tranquil tolerance to one of prickly outrage.  They’re already perpetually in a state of prickly outrage.

Rioters didn’t require a shoddy 14-minute YouTube film trailer to cause mayhem on September 11.  They were already sufficiently motivated to murder American ambassador to Libya Chris Stevens and drag his body through the streets.  Even the Obama administration now admits that Stevens’ murder was a terrorist attack, and new evidence suggests that Al Qaeda was behind it.

But by liberals’ calculation, the real policy-driver, the de facto Commander in Chief, the actual mover and shaker who’s screwing up the Middle East, is an unemployed father of five struggling to keep even with Obama in the polls.

Consider the essence of Democrats’ “Blame Bush” strategy, which they initiated at the height of the 2008 presidential campaign season and have continued right up through August’s lousy job numbers.  Remember that their approach did not merely take Bush to task for things he did wrong.  Most conservatives will happily rattle off a laundry list of complaints about Bush, from his expanding government entitlement programs to his failing to win the Iraq War early and decisively enough.

No, “Blame Bush” was the catchall excuse Democrats evolved to protect Obama from unflattering comparisons to the far more experienced Republican candidate Senator John McCain, and from criticism of his handling of the economy and international relations once President.

Obama wasted four years spending the country into oblivion; but when we failed to recover from the recession, Democrats blamed Bush for leaving him an economy much worse than was imaginable by anyone, including liberal economists we were supposed to trust regarding the restorative effect of Obama’s stimulus bill.

Obama spent four years bowing and scraping before our enemies; but when he pledged to sit down and talk with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad without preconditions, and Iran responded by defying the international prohibition on continuing its nuclear weapons program, Democrats blamed Bush for creating a hostile negotiation environment.

If Mitt Romney is elected president, Democrats’ strategy will transition from blaming everything on Bush to blaming it on Romney, as though Obama’s four-year stint in the White House left no trace.

But I don’t know anyone who anticipated that Democrats would be desperate enough to start blaming the unelected Romney for Obama’s failures.

Of course the real culprit behind the foreign policy debacle in Libya and Egypt is not Romney but Obama.  It was Obama’s State Department that failed to adequately secure the breached embassies ahead of 9/11, despite warnings of attacks; failed to deploy Marines to secure the premises; released from Gitmo a detainee involved in the attacks; fell all over themselves to issue apologies for Americans’ trampling on Muslim sensibilities; harassed the director of the trailer for making the video, Pastor Terry Jones for promoting it, and Google and YouTube for hosting it; and spent four years denying that America stands for any particular virtues that are superior to those of any other country.

(Does Obama really think having a half-Indonesian sister so endears him to the Muslim world that his State Department doesn’t need to raise the security level a notch at Middle Eastern embassies every time 9/11 rolls around?)

Mitt Romney’s Libya statement—like his 47% “gaffe” earlier this week—provided a badly needed kick in the pants to a nation accustomed to four years of Obama.  Romney’s clarification of the situation in Libya and Egypt constituted the proverbial wakeup call: “The first step in realizing our country is weak under Obama is realizing we have a problem.”

But who will Democrats blame Obama’s failures on for the next four years if Romney loses?

Real Solutions to Last Night’s Shootings — As another Gun Free Kill Zone claims lives

July 20, 2012

Gun Owners of America Offering Real Solutions to Last Night’s Shootings

— As another Gun Free Kill Zone claims lives

Last night’s shooting in Aurora, Colorado was extremely tragic, as more than a dozen people were killed in another Gun Free Kill Zone.

At the opening showing of “The Dark Knight Rises,” James Holmes dressed up in costume and murdered several people while the movie was barely thirty minutes into the story. The gunman used a movie gunfight to cover his actions and further surprise the innocent patrons. Worse, the theater in Aurora reportedly has a “no guns” policy.

Despite gun control’s obvious failure, the calls for more restrictions have already begun:

* Piers Morgan of CNN came out of the box, calling for more gun control in the wake of the shooting.

* New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg said the strategy of people arming themselves for self-defense just “doesn’t work.”

* And the Brady Campaign took the opportunity to tell the nation that, “This is yet another horrific reminder that guns enable mass killings.”

Tragically, many were killed last night. But it is also tragic that there was not another gun-toting Samuel Williams at the theater — the senior who rescued several Floridians against two armed thugs at an Internet cafe last week. (You can read the story and watch the exciting video here.)

And of course, while the national media is sure to focus on this Aurora, Colorado shooting for days to come, there is another shooting in that same city that you probably heard nothing about — when a worshipper at an Aurora church stopped a shooting this past April.

In that shooting, the bad guy was only able to kill one person in the parking lot, as the armed hero took him out before any other damage could be done.

Funny how the national media tends NOT to pick up stories where the good guy stops the perp!

To keep this in perspective, whenever we hear about horrid shootings like the one last night in Aurora, Colorado, we should remember that guns save as many as 80 lives for every one that is tragically taken. See the Gun Owners of America Fact Sheet here.

Gun Owners of America is appearing on several media outlets today to answer questions about our gun rights and to offer concealed carry solutions as the cure to future acts of terrorism like this.

Also, you can call in to GOA Radio Live to discuss this event with our Talk Show host, Bill Frady, from 6:00-8:00 pm tonight. Call 703-776-9264 to be on the show. GOA’s Larry Pratt will be interviewed by Frady next week.

Please stand with us and help GOA continue defending our gun rights across the country.

The murder of 13 moviegoers last night in a Denver-area theater was horrific.

My prayers, and the prayers of our staff and members, go out to the families of the victims and those wounded in this attack.

Living in Colorado, this attack strikes close to home for me.

I was sad this morning, but now I’m angry.

I’m angry that the theater bans law-abiding citizens from arming themselves for self-defense.

I’m angry that this deranged lunatic murdered men, women and children in a senseless act of violence.

And I’m outraged that already, not even twelve hours after the shooting, the gun control vultures are circling the victims.

This morning, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg has taken to the airwaves to exploit the blood of innocents to advance his radical anti-gun agenda.

Never one to let a “crisis go to waste,” Bloomberg is demanding both President Obama and Republican nominee Mitt Romney publicly come out in favor of expanding gun control.

While Colorado and the nation remain in a state of shock and grief, the Bloomberg political machine is callously exploiting this tragedy to churn out their anti-gun lies and rhetoric.

Make no mistake — this is a dangerous time right now for our gun rights.

President Obama and Republican Mitt Romney are neck-and-neck in the Presidential race and they’re desperate.

With a sinking economy and lackluster campaigns, they’re BOTH looking for any advantage they can muster.

And that means OUR Constitutionally-protected gun rights are certain to be in their sights.

You and I both know what President Obama thinks of gun owners . . .

. . . he thinks we’re “bitter” hicks, who “cling to our guns.”

But Mitt Romney’s record is no better. As Governor of Massachusetts he permanently banned an entire class of firearms.

Tragedies like last night’s movie theater shooting are just the sort of thing that the gun-banners have been waiting to exploit.

They will use this tragedy — and others like it — to call for “action.”

You and I both know their “call to action” means more gun control.

As gun owners and gun rights activists we MUST be vigilant in these times — not just in the defense of our loved ones, but in defense of our right to keep and bear arms.

With the UN “Small Arms Treaty” gun control meetings in New York City concluding exactly one week from today, it looks more likely than ever Barack Obama will attempt some sort of election-year gun grab.

In the name of public or international safety, and under pressure to conform to international “law,” that could mean a ban on inexpensive, imported ammunition . . .

. . . or a ban on full-capacity magazines . . .

. . . or an outright ban on civilian ownership of handguns . . .

. . . or worse yet, they could attack our very right to own firearms at all!

To make matters worse, Republican nominee Mitt Romney might help him!

You and I both know that Barack Obama, Michael Bloomberg and left-wing international gun-grabbers will work every angle of this shooting as an excuse to restrict our rights.

Our right to defend ourselves and our families from violent thugs — and anti-gun politicians — hangs in the balance on a daily basis.

Here is what you can do to help:

*** Please pray for the families of the victims and those injured by the horrific attack near Denver.

*** Gun grabbers seize upon every outrage and crime, so we must always be prepared.

For Freedom,

Dudley Brown

Executive Vice President

P.S. New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg has taken to the airwaves to exploit the blood of innocents to advance his radical anti-gun agenda.

Our right to defend ourselves and our families from violent thugs — and anti-gun politicians — hangs in the balance on a daily basis.

Please pray for the families of the victims and those injured by the horrific attack near Denver.

Gun grabbers seize upon every outrage and crime, so we must always be prepared. Please click here to chip in $15 or $20 to help the National Association for Gun Rights continue to fight against the gun control schemes of liberals like Mayor Bloomberg and President Obama.

470 Nitro (TEA PARTY) Express: A proven RINO KILLER

March 7, 2012

Some four years ago, in a chat forum, the now deceased John Basti said we need another Tea Party, and things went wild from there. All of us knew, and myself as well as Texas Fred even said that it would end up co-opted by the big hitters. Just as all really good ideas do…

The Taxed Enough Already movement grew beyond simply addressing tax issues. Eventually holding local politicians feet to the fire about all the assaults that governments large and small have been directing squarely at the Bill of Rights. From Private property rights, to tax issues, to politicians utterly ignoring their oaths to uphold the Constitution TEA Party activist’s have been there.

First we were called racist and gun nuts. Then the pictures of the TEA Party activist spread over the internet. A Black Man, with an AR 15. Then we were called women haters. At least until the pictures, and statements of the females within the movement started showing up. That is until those very same women were told that they were in fact simply too stupid to even know that they were being abused… But then? Those women’s credentials just blew the forces of big government authoritarianism apart... So then, who really are the sexist’s? The absolute misandry of the left is hypocritical to the extreme. The anti Freedom and personal Liberty of the left is much the same…

The forces present this day in these not so United States are bringing us again close to an actual civil war. Be they neo-nazi groups, La Raza, New Black Panthers, and a host of others that, I believe that another not so civil war is about to unfold here. That’s not even counting the various religious groups that want to impose their version of sharia upon us…

Back in the day, there was on the darkest continent, one single weapon caliber that was always in the forefront when it came to this worlds most dangerous animals. It was the double rifle, chambered in 470 Nitro Express. It took absolute courage to take on a Rino or Jumbo with one. We the people of America will, one and all, need to summon up that same type of fortitude and courage if we are to save our nation.

Where Does Romney Stand Today on the Second Amendment?

February 27, 2012
Gun Owners of America today sent an Open Letter to Gov. Mitt Romney, asking him — yet again — to submit his survey responses to GOA.
“We sent you a questionnaire not once, not twice but three times now,” said GOA Vice Chairman Tim Macy.
“What did you send back? A form letter stating you are pro-Second Amendment — with absolutely nothing to back up this laughable claim. As Governor, you were proudly anti-Second Amendment, but as you have with most issues, you have now changed your stripes to spots.”
GOA has posted a description of Romney’s Second Amendment record at: http://gunowners.org/mittromney-2012.htm
In this analysis, you will see his past support for all of Massachusetts’ strict gun control laws, including his support for semi-auto bans and waiting periods.
Mitt Romney said in a recent speech that he was “severely conservative” as Governor of Massachusetts. But if that’s true, then why is he steadfastly refusing to answer the Gun Owners of America questionnaire on Second Amendment issues?
GOA’s Tim Macy asks: “Do you want to clear up this possible misconception I (and most members of Gun Owners of America) have about you? If you do, then call me at (916) 984-1400. Even better, why don’t you fill out one of the THREE GOA questionnaires we’ve sent to you so that millions of American gun owners will know where you stand?”
GOA would ask its members to forward our open letter — which can be read at http://gunowners.org/open-letter-romney.htm — to Gov. Romney.
You may contact Mitt Romney at:
* Email: info@mittromney.com
* Phone: (857) 288-3500
Please let us know of any response you get from Gov. Romney.
And be sure to forward the Open Letter to your friends and family.

The Chicago way: secretive, behind-closed-door meetings

February 15, 2012

While most people would rate the economy and jobs as the most important issues in the 2012 Presidential campaign, another issue of overwhelming importance would be the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty.

MacySantorumMany Americans have never heard of this treaty.  But President Obama and Hillary Clinton reversed the position of President Bush and are pushing a UN treaty that could ban large classes of firearms (such as semi-automatic firearms) and license everything else.

In secretive, behind-closed-door meetings, the UN committee charged with drafting the Arms Trade Treaty language has covered lots of ground. From deciding how to force the US to reduce its military strength, to deciding if every American should give up our guns, these folks have every intention of weakening our ability to protect our nation.

If this treaty were to be ratified by the United States Senate, every American citizen’s Second Amendment rights would be threatened by the United Nations. If that doesn’t scare every freedom-loving American, nothing will!

This is one of the biggest reasons why Gun Owners of America believes the most important elections in 2012 after the Presidential race are in the United States Senate, where we must take the gavel away from left-wing dictator Senator Harry Reid.

There is only one Republican candidate running for President who has not committed to reversing the Obama/Clinton position on the Arms Trade Treaty — Mitt Romney.

While every other candidate still in the running for the Republican Presidential nomination has said they would oppose this treaty, Mitt Romney has refused to state his position, refusing to answer the Gun Owners of America questionnaire on this and many other gun-related issues.

Many in the media have tried to coronate Mitt Romney as the eventual nominee, but we think the nomination is still up for grabs.  This is why we want to get every Republican on record.

There is too much at stake to allow Mitt Romney a “pass” on this issue. With the field getting smaller–we need an answer from Romney.

Gun Owners of America is asking every person who reads this alert to contact the Romney campaign and ask why he is ducking our Questionnaire, especially on the question of the UN Arms Trade Treaty.

You can email the Romney headquarters at info@mittromney.com, or call 857-288-3500.  Let him know what you think and tell him you would like an answer.

Time is running out. It’s time to get EVERY candidate to answer the tough questions. Stop dodging, Mitt . . . start answering.

Sincerely,

Tim Macy
Vice Chairman

PS  Of the four Republican candidates remaining in the race, only Mitt Romney has refused to take a stand on important issues such as opposing a UN gun control treaty.  Please contact the Romney campaign at info@mittromney.com, or call 857-288-3500 and urge him to return the Gun Owners of America Presidential Questionnaire.

From Wyoming Gun Owners

February 1, 2012

Vying for your vote in the field of “Republicans” are candidates with a documented history of supporting gun control schemes backed by the Brady campaign against guns.

And like usual the tough gun rights questions aren’t being asked of the Presidential candidates by the liberal anti-gun media.

Even the so called “conservative” talking heads seem to sidestep the real meaning of the right to keep and bear arms.

This is very concerning since here in Wyoming “constitutional carry” was passed into law eliminating the need to–ask big brother permission–before exercising your God-given right to self defense.

That’s why now more than ever we must demand to know if these candidates will defend or strike down the rights that you and I have worked so hard to restore.

Wyoming Gun Owners is the only state organization working at this level, asking the hard questions in a–Wyoming Gun Owners 2012 Presidential Gun Rights Survey–that was sent to the candidates by certified mail.

Ron Paul is the only Republican candidate who has returned the survey. His response was 100% in favor of your gun rights.

The remaining candidates, Mitt Romney, Newt Gingrich, and Rick Santorum, have all decided to stonewall gun owners by refusing to return their surveys!

Also receiving Mitt Romney’s survey was his Wyoming Campaign Chairwoman–Cynthia Lummis.

During a state wide radio tour Representative Lummis announced her personal endorsement and declared Romney as the best candidate for Wyoming.

Unfortunately Romney’s past is riddled with heavy support of gun control, even signing some of the most draconian gun laws in the nation during his occupancy of the Massachusetts governor’s office.

Romney says he has “changed his mind” on a laundry list of issues. But how can anyone truly believe he has had a change of heart concerning the second amendment if Romney now refuses to put his answers on paper and place his signature on it?

In my personal experience, when a candidate refuses to put their views on the second amendment in writing, it’s a early sign that if sent to Washington they would just lay down and pander to those in the gun control crowd.

This is why it’s so important for you to contact Mitt Romney’s campaign chair Cynthia Lummis and demand an answer of why we are hearing–absolutely nothing but silence–on tough gun rights questions.

Please call and email Cynthia Lummis today!
