More shenanigans in Wyoming

September 11, 2015

Yesterday on your behalf, I testified at Cheyenne’s city council on the record and against an egregious scheme that will place power in a small group of politically appointed bureaucrats.

This so-called Human Rights Advisory Council measure was led by (Phony Republican) Cheyenne city councilman Dicky Shanor.

The push for these shady local councils – is modeled directly after the similarly named “United Nations Human Rights Advisory Council” – and they first started popping up in San Francisco and neighboring California communities during the mid sixties.

Today these United Nations styled Human Rights Councils span America from coast to coast. And wouldn’t you know, they all have one thing in common…the United Nation’s demand for the confiscation of guns from American citizens as a “human right” for safety.

These councils use a variation of the Delphi-Method to lobby the public as well as influence state government. By using specially picked political appointees that appear as everyday concerned citizens, they push to advance support on a host of progressive ideals, including gun control.

Cleverly this is how politicians can push an agenda — then hide behind a citizen panel, when they ask for your vote at reelection time.

Too bad for them, we’re on to them!

In Wyoming, it’s always the usual suspects like Dicky Shanor pushing the progressive envelope. These Liberal-Progressives work within the confines of the Republican party because they just can’t get elected as Democrats.

Republicans like Shanor, and a Party that refuses to hold their own accountable — is the very reason we must be so critical of the recent statewide Republican fund-raising campaign dubbed – “Grow The Party.”

It should be noted that Shanor was the prior Chairman of the Laramie Republican Party.

And it’s just as it seems, Republican ‘Elitists’ like Shanor quickly find the revolving door into Wyoming government.

It’s flat out sickening that councilman Shanor used the usual tactics to make it difficult for the public to participate in the proceedings by having the hearing at 12 noon, and to schedule the hearing in the smallest room possible with people literally lining the hallway.

All while 20 feet away, the much larger Cheyenne city council chambers were empty. You just can’t make this stuff up!

Besides being a lawyer and city council member, phony Republican Shanor also works as the Chief of Staff of another Phony Republican, Jillian Balow, Wyoming’s Superintendent of Education who testified in both the House and Senate committees against the Repeal of Gun Free Zones in Wyoming.

Like the old saying goes, “Birds of a Feather flock Together.”
Jillian Balow and Dicky Shanor

So yesterday, it came at no surprise, that Dicky Shanor was leading the charge to implement an unscrupulous Marxist government scheme.

The good news is…

On it’s initial introduction we made sure Shanor’s move met hard scrutiny from gun owners.

But here’s the warning…

While the measure was temporarily tabled in yesterdays sub-committee—->Despite the opposition, Shanor stated, in open committee, that he will rework the language and bring it before the council again.

This is why I will be keeping a close eye on every move of Cheyenne’s city council as they act to repackage and reintroduce Shanor’s United Nations scheme.

Remember, as I am at the ready to aggressively push back at Wyoming’s progressive anti-gun politicians—->where ever they may be. This will continue to be possible only because of your financial support.

If you are a regularly reader, but have not become an active supporter – please consider chipping in $10 or $20, so WyGO can remain the strong voice for gun rights in Wyoming.

They are circling the wagons so they can stifle any advancement of gun rights in Wyoming.

December 20, 2014

But that’s what they’ve been doing all along.

As an example, the University of Wyoming’s governing body and the Wyoming Teachers Union are at the ready with an entire team of lobbyists who will stand in the way of the Second Amendment.

This is exactly how they’ve taken over states like Colorado…utilizing an army of paid lobbyists that all move in unison pushing similar ‘progressive’ values.

By being on the ground at the State Capitol we have documented the anti-gun operatives. This gives us a clear advantage.

Like in other States, the progressives have an active ‘paid’ lobbyist base here in Wyoming.

There’s a teachers association, a higher education association, a school board association. And standing with them, a municipality association, and let’s not forget the police association — all on the record — lobbying to defend their gun free victim killing zones.

Here’s the good news…

We have the ability to throw a monkey wrench in the works — by exposing every single politician who works with these well paid anti-gun lobbyists.

You see, no matter how hard they try to hide, we now know who they are, and just who they are working for.

Another example hidden by the media is — Wyoming Senator John Hastert (Democrat-Green River) who is a corporate officer in a least two anti-gun lobby groups.

And the so-called ‘leadership’ in the Republican majority says…”Our institution [legislature] is under attack from Wyoming Gun Owners”.

It’s just not politically advantageous for the Republican politicians to call out a standing Senator who is a high ranking officer in a political nonprofit — when both of them work on the same gun-control team.

It’s these same politicians who work in unison that have now created this target rich environment detrimental to their own careers.

But it will be detrimental only if we expose them!

After several years of our ‘boots on the ground’ activism, it’s now time to use their anti-gun voting records, and their anti-gun alliances (with the well funded lobbyists) against them. And do this not only when they ask for your vote during elections, but during legislative season.

There’s more lobbyist corruption…

Lobbyists from afar are part of the problem, including the NRA, who flies-in their Washington D.C. based lobbyist to Wyoming.

Dakota Moore (the NRA lobbyist) along with another (well paid) lobbyist who based in Wyoming, together pushed for background expansion in Wyoming.

Fortunately it was WyGO’s aggressive postal campaign funded by members like you that creating a tidal-wave of direct mail reaching thousands of households.

In the end there was a loud and clear message telling lawmakers “we were watching” that put the brakes on this dangerous legislation.

Of course the background check expansion bill sponsor, Senator Fred Emerich (Republican-Cheyenne) — was endorsed for re-election by no other than, Dakota Moore, the NRA lobbyist…

What we’ve learned is that the NRA lobbyist is a typical lawyer type who plays very well with the anti-gun establishment.

Mr. Moore has told our bill sponsor that they [NRA] work differently than WyGO does.

That is no lie! It’s very apparent that the NRA works differently.

The NRA endorsement of Sen. Fred Emerich — ignored important facts about the gun-grabbing Senator’s voting record.

Here it comes…

Sen. Fred Emerich voted against Constitutional-Carry in 2011, not only in his Senate committee, but additionally in all three floor votes as well.

As it seems, this is the best the NRA can do, to take millions of dollars raised — then send us a ‘lawyered-up’ lobbyist who advances gun control.

But it could be worse.

How bad would be if you didn’t know about all this damaging collaboration between multiple lobbyists?

Or, what if you didn’t know the truth about the NRA lawyer-lobbyist (that resides in the D.C. Beltway) who pals around with the gun-grabbing politicians in Wyoming?

WyGO supporters have always had an edge…

This was true in 2011 when WyGO launched a real grassroots campaign to repeal the permit requirement for concealed carry.

And it’s true now, even though the GOP leadership has fought us every step of the way since 2011, WyGO’s edge is apparent.

With WyGO on the ground, the anti-gun politicians, their lobbyist collaborators, and their pals in the anti-gun media cannot pull the wool over the eyes of gun owners so easily.

But now with so many alliances working against us — things are going to get even tougher.

And as we quickly approach Wyoming’s 2015 legislative session, I need everyone on board.

Wyoming has two choices:

1. Follow States like Colorado into the abyss.

-OR-

2. We can take our position on high ground, wait for them to march in, then let them have it!

Everyone knows that in battle one must have plenty of ammo, right?

In this case, we need to be ready at a moment’s notice to pay for and deploy hard hitting postal-mailing campaigns, radio ads and internet ads.

I know how tough times are, and yes I know what time of year it is.

But I also know what kind of fight is coming in just 30 days when the legislature starts up — and this is the reason I’m asking for your financial support today.

Whatever the amount is — I’ll leave that entirely up to you.

It will be only with your help that I can deliver the necessary pain to the anti-gun politicians.

Your support will help WyGO get lined up for the 2015 session — so please contribute to WyGO as generously as you can.

I Thank You in advance.

Big Government antics in The Cowboy State: Sherriff Bill belongs in a movie about the old south!

November 21, 2014

Will you let House leadership get away with this?

Wyoming’s new House Speaker Kermit Brown (Albany) and the majority floor leader Rosie Berger (Sheridan) — are playing dirty right out of the gate.

And these are the same folks in so-called leadership that pushed to stop me from video taping floor activity (on behalf of WyGO) from the “public” gallery in the Capitol — because they don’t want you to know what’s really going on under their so-called “leadership.”

The orders were to stop Bouchard (me) from video recording because it’s “their house” and they make the rules!

The reality is they just don’t want to be held accountable by anyone, and certainly not by Wyoming Gun Owners!

But now as a corrupt politician slides into the Wyoming Legislature, we see more of the same from the leaders.

Over the years several complaints have been filed against a politician while in office. And it is unfortunate for Campbell county residents that all prior complaints fell on deaf ears.

Sometimes justice comes later than sooner…

The current Governor, previous Governors, and let’s not forget the several prosecutors who were all given an opportunity to review complaints. Now they are all in a real conundrum for covering up for Sheriff Bill Pownall.

Of course WyGO was “on the ground” during Bill Pownall’s last Sheriff campaign in 2010.

***During his campaign several recordings of Sheriff Pownall were revealed, including evidence that he obtained and possessed at least one class III weapon without forgoing the required federal paperwork.
(You and I would go to jail and serve a hefty term for that offense)

***Insiders close to Pownall stated that as Sheriff he would refuse any applications by lawful citizens for Class III weapons.
(We take that as, only Pownall should own them)

***Insiders also leaked that Pownall was working on a gun owners database.
(A traffic stop gun registry for law abiding citizens)

There was even more…In fact, an entire slew of other reasons led us to believe that Pownall was a bad apple. Like all criminals, by the time they are finally discovered, they have already broken the law repeatedly.

And this is what election cycles are about, looking at backgrounds, reviewing actions, and verifying the credibility of any accusations against a candidate. Check, WyGO did that.

This is why WyGO worked diligently to expose Pownall’s real record and his refusal to answer our gun rights survey. And back in the sheriff’s race WyGO also pointed out that Pownall’s opponent, Dave Lauck, answered WyGO’s survey 100% correct .

Accordingly, WyGO ran a hard hitting radio campaign in Campbell county, and was the only organization taking a stand against Pownall.

During his run for House district 52, Pownall refused to answer WyGO’s survey once again.

Pownall is a fine example of this: If any candidate doesn’t trust you with your own guns, then you shouldn’t trust them with anything at all!

So why am I dragging out  Pownall’s past corrupt accusations?

Here it comes, wait for it…

Recently unnamed complainants working inside of Pownall’s Sheriff Administration finally had enough of it, and sealed and delivered the evidence. Only this time there were too many people in the loop to turn a blind eye.

Hollywood style corruption in Wyoming – Sheriff Bill Pownall on right

As it was during Pownall’s previous elections, the corruption could no longer be covered up. He and his political operatives could no longer cry foul against the evidence.

And what is the latest charge against the Campbell county top law enforcement officer?

Pownall directed his deputies to cover-up an arrest of his own son for — drunk driving.

And now with the WY Attorney General advancing to remove Pownall as Sheriff. We see exactly the opposite from the House leadership who call the legislature “their house.”

Instead of putting the brakes on Pownall, as they are empowered to do, they are just going about business as usual. Just last week leadership appointed Pownall to the powerful Wyoming House Judiciary Committee.

This is the committee, that is most likely to hear gun bills. And Pownall, a politician whose actions as Sheriff puts himself above the law — is now empowered by House leadership to dictate over the lives of Wyoming citizens statewide.

Real leadership would have refused to place Pownell on Judiciary and instead be calling for a special election for House District 52!

But all of this isn’t only on the shoulders of the so-called Leadership!

A super majority in the Wyoming house elected Kermit Brown and Rosie Berger to be their leaders — all by a secret ballot behind closed doors.

But we have a very reliable indication of who the house reps are in this “secret” majority. They are likely the same candidates who ran for the Wyoming house that also refused to answer Wyoming Gun Owners gun rights survey.

These are the politicians who refuse to put their real views on the Second Amendment in writing. And are the likely bunch that is responsible for electing current House leadership.

Kermit Brown and Rosie Berger have repeatedly refused to answer WyGO’s surveys as well.

All of this is the same kind of action you see in Washington DC, the good old boys are in control!

Like you, we’re mad as hell and were not to take it anymore!

Please share this e-mail with as many people as you can, because in the coming days WyGO is going to be calling for action!

Please consider becoming a financial supporter of Wyoming Gun Owners, the only organization working at this level to expose the corrupt anti-gun politicians.

Be watching for my coming eAlerts, and if you haven’t done so already, join with over 16,000 WyGO supporters and followers on our Facebook page.

The NRA isn’t listening and continues to push the so-called Fix NICS agenda in Wyoming!

June 24, 2014
Even though you have voiced your concerns about data sharing and said NO to the expansion of the federal background checks in Wyoming…

Even though the recent Judiciary committee heard you ‘loud and clear’ when they shut down the background check expansion legislation in May.

The NRA isn’t listening and continues to push the so-called Fix NICS agenda in Wyoming!

The 2014 NRA candidate survey is so telling of their real intentions:

The fact that this question is on their survey means that they will be pushing this agenda again — and if he’s re-elected, use their own NRA “A” rated Senator Fred Emerich, who BTW voted NO on pro-gun legislation SF-104 in 2011.

Because when it comes to the background check expansion scheme, Anti-Gun Senator Emerich is their boy!

You can bet he earns another “A” rating for it too.

This agenda to expand NICS is also being spearheaded by former NY Mayor Bloomberg’s Anti-Gun organization, touted as Fatal Gaps.

Sadly this is happening on the heels of Obama’s 11 signed Executive Orders to change — background checks, health-care privacy regulations and gun owner data sharing — into a keystroke gun registration system.

Obama’s executive order summary:
1. Require federal agencies to make relevant data available to the federal background check system. (Share all data)
2. Address unnecessary legal barriers particularly relating to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, that may prevent states from making information available to the background check system. (Privacy)
3. Improve incentives for states to share information with the background check system. (Bribes to the states)
4. Propose rule-making to give law enforcement the ability to run a full background check on an individual before returning a seized gun. (Even on a  simple traffic stop)
5. Publish a letter from ATF to federally licensed gun dealers providing guidance on how to run background checks for private sellers. (Preparing for regulations on private sales)
6. Clarify that the Affordable Care Act does not prohibit doctors asking their patients about guns in their homes. (This information was once private, it will now go on your permanent record)
7. Release a letter to health care providers clarifying that no federal law prohibits them from reporting threats of violence to law enforcement authorities. (Doctor patient confidentiality gone)
8. Release a letter to state health officials clarifying the scope of mental health services that Medicaid plans must cover. (Details to record gun owners)
9. Finalize regulations clarifying essential health benefits and parity requirements within Obamacare exchanges. (More gun owner  regulations underwritten in the details)
10. Commit to finalizing mental health parity regulations. (etc.)
11. Launch a national dialogue on mental health. (etc.)

By contrast WyGO’s 2014 candidate survey asks these questions relating to Brady and private sales:

The NRA isn’t working for gun owners in Wyoming and instead is using their  $300 million to work for the wrong team!

And the NRA’s actions?

In 2011 when WyGO was on the ground pushing Constitutional Carry at the legislature, the NRA was completly absent from the fight.

In 2012 the NRA actually provided a draft to the Wyoming Security Commission expanding gun free zones in every county building in Wyoming.

In 2014 the NRA didn’t even make a peep on HB-119, legislation that would have repealed gun free zones in Wyoming.

Later in 2014 the NRA flew in field Rep. Dakota Moore to support background check expansion, while WyGO was expending an incredible amount of WyGO member resources in direct mail to kill this dangerous legislation.

The NRA’s record in wyoming shows they have put their money to work just helping Obama’s keystroke registration scheme!

Please contact Wayne LaPierre at (800) 672-3888  and tell him how you feel!

And if you haven’t done so please throw your financial support to Wyoming’s ONLY ‘boots on the ground’ gun rights organization in the state.

Executive Director
Wyoming Gun Owners

P.S. The NRA is working to promote Obama’s background expansion/Registration scheme.

The NRA 2014 candidate survey has revealed that they will continue to push their so-called FixNICS campaign using the money taken from their members, under the premise they will fight against gun control.

Please get involved today by financially supporting the only ‘boots on the ground’ gun rights organization in Wyoming — with a generous contribution of whatever you can afford.

NAGR: What the NRA should be! No compromise with your rights, ever!

November 12, 2013

While there are many Second Amendment support groups the most well known, and reviled by those that suffer from the mental illness hoplophobia really does very little for the day to day supporter of the Bill of Rights. That being the National Rifle Association. Please don’t get me wrong about the NRA. They are possibly the very first safety organization of any type in history, and it is doubtless that the firearm safety programs started by them have saved countless lives, as well as reduced severe injuries all around the world, and have served the vital function of providing a working template for virtually all safety programs.

Feared by many politicians, the NRA has clout. However, when it comes to politics? The NRA is a true failure. They refuse to fight the tough fights. Only getting into those in which the probability of success is high. Indeed, the refusal to actually get involved in the dirty work led to the formation of Gun Owners of America as well as others. Wyoming Gun Owners, Rocky Mountain Gun Owners and others like them get into the trenches and fight. Also, The National Association for Gun Rights has been getting results that have been quite impressive as of late. Please watch the video for more about NAGR, and donate what you can to each of the groups mentioned above.

So much for swearing an oath…Obama’s collaborators in Wyoming

December 31, 2012

Earlier this year with your help we defeated state legislation that would have expanded gun free zones, or better called — victim disarmament zones — in all County buildings around the state.

But, as we know all too well, the gun-grabbers never sleep!

Like a broken record, the anti-gun crowd and their pals in the media blame law-abiding gun owners like you and me and try to use tragedies as an excuse to push for even more gun control.

And here in Wyoming, the bad actors are just as emboldened by the mainstream media’s non-stop badgering to ban guns.

The Wyoming Judge that pushed for a gun ban in all County buildings is furious with the legislature for killing his bill — so he decided to do what power hungry tyrants do best.

Two weeks ago Judge Jeffery A. Donnell violated his oath to the Wyoming Constitution when he issued a — gun free zone order — in the Albany County building, claiming he can do so by his OWN authority.

His plan to override the current law from the bench is devious to say the least. It’s very likely that Judge Donnell hopes in-time his unlawful order will be decided by collaborators in the Wyoming Supreme Court.

But this is how the gun control crowd has done it all across the country, by enacting a patchwork of “local” gun laws.

Their scheme is simple — leave our new Constitutional Carry Law on the books but render it virtually MEANINGLESS by allowing local governments to pass their own gun “regulations.”

And here’s where the bad news gets worse.

This power-grab has been orchestrated by none other than the Wyoming Court Security Commission, whose appointed members include the above mentioned Judge Donnell, along with several handpicked anti-gun puppets including the Director of WY Homeland Security, along with several other anti-gun bureaucrats.

We have one strong supporter on the committee. Thanks to the out-going Speaker of the House, Ed Buchanan, we have a voice on the courts panel.

Last month Speaker Buchanan appointed pro-gun champion Representative Allen Jaggi to the commission. But with only one soldier against so many foes — there may not be enough horsepower to stem the tides.

Let’s face it, this is how the progressive crowd works, with the push from the Obama administration and his anti-gun cronies now in full swing — the like minded here in Wyoming have joined forces to mount a battle of epic proportions.

This is the reason Wyoming Gun Owners exists. Join us today.

Judge Donnell’s orders, don’t be fooled by the terms “courthouse” — he’s talking about the entire “County business building”.

The Obama administration’s attempt to make a case for gun control.

July 1, 2012

Well regular readers know that this is precisely what I said a long time ago.

The House of Representatives today voted to hold Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt of Congress by a 255-to-67 vote.  Seventeen Democrats crossed party lines to support the contempt citation, which represents the first time in U.S. history that a house of Congress has ever taken such action against an Attorney General.
Let’s be clear:  Operation Fast & Furious was all about the Obama administration’s attempt to make a case for gun control.
Columnist Ann Coulter summarized this quite well yesterday when she said, “Administration officials intentionally put guns into the hands of Mexican drug cartels, so that when the guns taken from Mexican crime scenes turned out to be American guns, Democrats would have a reason to crack down on gun sellers in the United States.”
This is precisely what internal ATF documents reveal.  In her groundbreaking report last December, Sharyl Attkisson of CBS News quotes one law enforcement official who put the administration’s duplicity quite succinctly:  “It’s like ATF created or added to the problem [by helping run guns south of the border] so they could be the solution to it and pat themselves on the back.”
Of course, that “solution” was nothing other than new gun control regulations — such as the gun registration requirements the Obama administration unilaterally imposed last year in the four southwestern states.
Hence, at its core, Operation Fast & Furious was intended to foster “gun walking” in order to create the perceived need for gun control.  In February of last year, the Obama administration sent a letter to Congress denying this and falsely claimed they were not helping to “walk” guns south of the border.
But in December, after further whistleblowers came forward and more documents were revealed, the administration had to retract the February letter.
Part of what House investigators are now seeking relates to documents describing the internal deliberations between Justice Department officials, and why they decided to abandon the claims made in the February letter and to change their story ten months later.
Further complicating matters for House investigators like Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA) is the fact that President Obama has exerted executive privilege over the documents and is refusing to turn them over.
This even has many Democrats concerned.
Georgia Democrat Rep. John Barrow explained his vote for the contempt citation, stating that “the Attorney General has decided to withhold relevant documents. The only way to get to the bottom of what happened is for the Department of Justice to turn over the remaining documents, so that we can work together to ensure this tragedy never happens again.”
And Utah Democrat Rep. Jim Matheson (UT) also explained his vote, stating that, “The Terry family, the public and Congress deserve answers. Sadly, it seems that it will take holding the Attorney General in contempt to communicate that evasiveness is unacceptable.”
Make no mistake about it — it’s been a long, hard road getting the Congress to act like it did today.  GOA had heard whispers on Capitol Hill — and seen articles in the media — indicating that the House leadership was initially cool to the idea of holding the Attorney General accountable in an election year.
That’s why your involvement — keeping this issue on the front burner for so many months — has been so crucial.  You moved the House leadership to move this contempt citation to the floor today and to make history.
Today’s action has set into place a series of events that could result in Eric Holder being held in contempt of court and, ultimately, land him in jail if he continues to hide documents related to Operation Fast & Furious.
Again, thanks again for every phone call you have made and every email you have sent!

Representative Tom Lubnau (R-Gillette) Speaks with forked tongue

February 20, 2012

In an interview on Glenn Woods radio show (AM1270 in Gillette) Representative Tom Lubnau (R-Gillette) stated that HB-60 preemption reform legislationwas a “crazy gun bill”.

Of course Lubnau says he didn’t shoot down the bill –Reality Check– the bill failed 2 votes shy of the 2/3rds majority – 38-21. And YES Lubnau was a no vote!

Click here to listen Glenn Woods AM1270 — Tom Lubnau

In a stupendous reach he also said- “I’m not going to place police officers in jeopardy of being fired for going up to a suicidal person and saying, ‘Why don’t you put that gun down’”.

Using scare tactics regularly echoed by the gun control crowd, Lubnau has now reached a new plateau as he untruthfully suggested that all common sense would be thrown out the window if this bill advanced.

HB-60 is virtually identical to a bill that was signed into law by Florida’s governor — putting an end to three decades of local government crushing the citizen’s right to keep and bear arms.

Incredibly during his interview Lubnau also defended his “so-called” pro-gun position while adding he is in Cheyenne to read the bills. But don’t be fooled!

Because soon afterwards, the “Republican Floor Leader” slithered back to his previous mode of operation.

Here it comes. Wait for it…

The “Republican” floor leader is now supporting one of the largest expansions of gun free zones in Wyoming.

HB-70 a bill that is disguised as a court security measure — when in fact it specifies a change to current statute making “All COUNTY BUILDINGS containing a district or circuit court” a gun free zone or better named “criminal safe zone”.

This legislation will relocate the “secured area” of the court room to the “front door of the county building”. Please forgive me for being redundant…If HB-70 passes it will be one of the largest expansions of gun free zones in Wyoming ever witnessed.

So much for Tom Lubnau “reading the bills in our best interest” and being (in his own words) an “ardent supporter of your gun rights” — Since he now is advancing legislation that goes hand in hand with a proposal by anti-gun Gillette Mayor who wants a similar gun ban on all city property.

By the way, when I confronted anti-gun Mayor Tom Murphy about his gun ban, he responded by boiling over and sticking his finger in my face.

It appears that Lubnau is working for his local government officials in “Gillette” instead of defending the rights of the voters that elected him to office.

Wyoming Gun Owners is the ONLY gun rights organization working at this level — Exposing anti-gun politicians, lobbying to pass pro gun legislation and working to stop all gun control in Wyoming.

I stand by my statement — Representative Tom Lubnau the “Republican floor leader” should step down and let someone else take the helm.

Yet another politician wants to change our state into a Free Fire Zone for criminals! His stated reasons, are as usual, illogical and based upon some distorted sense of political correctness. We, the people of Wyoming need better from our leaders. Think about it folks. The gang bangers are not just in Cheyenne where there is a tremendous amount of law enforcement. They have spread out all across our state, and it is only a matter of time before something disastrous happens.

Courts only..? Just how long will that last? Not to mention that the man literally insults the intelligence of our Police Officers. Even a dumb Paramedic like me knows better than to just walk up to a suicidal person with a gun… Blue suicide..? The steps leading up to the Courthouse work just as well for that.

Will the next Columbine or Virginia State happen here? Don’t think for one second that this will remain only a Court building thing. If so will only the criminals be lawfully armed until the Police arrive? Two or three minutes is a VERY long time when some misfit is armed with a full auto weapon that is practicing the spray and pray method of marksmanship.

We, the people of Wyoming need to hold our leaders feet to the fire whenever they practice the politics of political correctness, and I call upon every single member of  Mr. Lubnau’s district to give him an earful over this. Then, come next election cycle, send him back home and remind him about why he is there at home at every opportunity!

From Wyoming Gun Owners

February 1, 2012

Vying for your vote in the field of “Republicans” are candidates with a documented history of supporting gun control schemes backed by the Brady campaign against guns.

And like usual the tough gun rights questions aren’t being asked of the Presidential candidates by the liberal anti-gun media.

Even the so called “conservative” talking heads seem to sidestep the real meaning of the right to keep and bear arms.

This is very concerning since here in Wyoming “constitutional carry” was passed into law eliminating the need to–ask big brother permission–before exercising your God-given right to self defense.

That’s why now more than ever we must demand to know if these candidates will defend or strike down the rights that you and I have worked so hard to restore.

Wyoming Gun Owners is the only state organization working at this level, asking the hard questions in a–Wyoming Gun Owners 2012 Presidential Gun Rights Survey–that was sent to the candidates by certified mail.

Ron Paul is the only Republican candidate who has returned the survey. His response was 100% in favor of your gun rights.

The remaining candidates, Mitt Romney, Newt Gingrich, and Rick Santorum, have all decided to stonewall gun owners by refusing to return their surveys!

Also receiving Mitt Romney’s survey was his Wyoming Campaign Chairwoman–Cynthia Lummis.

During a state wide radio tour Representative Lummis announced her personal endorsement and declared Romney as the best candidate for Wyoming.

Unfortunately Romney’s past is riddled with heavy support of gun control, even signing some of the most draconian gun laws in the nation during his occupancy of the Massachusetts governor’s office.

Romney says he has “changed his mind” on a laundry list of issues. But how can anyone truly believe he has had a change of heart concerning the second amendment if Romney now refuses to put his answers on paper and place his signature on it?

In my personal experience, when a candidate refuses to put their views on the second amendment in writing, it’s a early sign that if sent to Washington they would just lay down and pander to those in the gun control crowd.

This is why it’s so important for you to contact Mitt Romney’s campaign chair Cynthia Lummis and demand an answer of why we are hearing–absolutely nothing but silence–on tough gun rights questions.

Please call and email Cynthia Lummis today!

Comparision / Contrast: AKA holding your nose when you vote

January 29, 2012

We Americans are about to yet again have to hold our collective noses when we vote in the coming election.

One thing is clear, and that is that Obama must go. His attempts at undermining American sovereignty. His just plain lousy choices for advisers and people in high office such as Hillary Clinton and Eric Holder being the best examples. His idiotic handling of energy and economic issues, crony capitalism, and the list just goes on forever make his removal from office a no brainer. His inexcusable use of the military as an election tool just tops off the cake.

So, what are we left with? Yet another chorus of decidedly poor choices. Let’s take an observation  them through the looking glass of the Bill of Rights.

Mitt Romney

In the recent Presidential debate, Congresswoman Michelle Bachmann said America’s voters did not need to “settle” for the moderate candidate. Amen to that.

And gun owners do NOT want candidates who talk out of both sides of their mouths.

As the Gun Owners of America’s Board of Directors looks at the Republican candidates running to unseat radical anti-gun President Obama, we see several who have strong pro-gun backgrounds. Ron Paul, Rick Perry, Michelle Bachman all have solid pro-gun records and deserve a hard look from pro-gunners.

At least one frontrunner candidate stands in contrast with a decidedly mixed record on the gun issue. While Mitt Romney likes to “talk the pro-gun talk,” he has not always walked the walk.

“The Second Amendment protects the individual right of lawful citizens to keep and bear arms. I strongly support this essential freedom,” Romney assures gun owners these days.

But this is the same Mitt Romney who, as governor, promised not to do anything to “chip away” at Massachusetts’ extremely restrictive gun laws.

“We do have tough gun laws in Massachusetts; I support them,” he said during a gubernatorial debate. “I won’t chip away at them; I believe they protect us and provide for our safety.”[1]

Even worse, Romney signed a law to permanently ban many semi-automatic firearms. “These guns are not made for recreation or self-defense,” Romney said in 2004. “They are instruments of destruction with the sole purpose of hunting down and killing people.”[2]

Romney also spoke in favor of the Brady law’s five day waiting period on handguns. The Boston Herald quotes Romney saying, “I don’t think (the waiting period) will have a massive effect on crime but I think it will have a positive effect.”[3]

Mitt Romney doesn’t seem to understand the meaning of “SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED.”

And that makes it all the more troubling that Romney refuses to answer GOA’s simple candidate questionnaire. In our more than 36 years of experience, a candidate is usually hiding anti-gun views if he or she refuses to come clean in writing with specific commitments to the Second Amendment.

Today, Romney may be a favorite “Republican Establishment” candidate of the national press corps. But that is exactly what gun owners DON’T need in a new President. We need someone who will stand by true constitutional principles and protect the Second Amendment.

Newt Gingrich

Prior to the “Republican Revolution” of 1994, Rep. Newt Gingrich of Georgia had earned an A rating with Gun Owners of America.  But that all changed in 1995, after Republicans were swept to power and Gingrich became Speaker of the House.

The Republicans gained the majority, thanks in large part to gun owners outraged by the Clinton gun ban.  And upon taking the reins of the House, Speaker Gingrich said famously that, “As long as I am Speaker of this House, no gun control legislation is going to move in committee or on the floor of this House and there will be no further erosion of their rights.”

His promise didn’t hold up, however, and his GOA rating quickly dropped to well below the “C-level.”  In 1996, the Republican-led Congress passed the “gun free school zones act,” creating criminal safe zones like Virginia Tech, where the only person armed was a murderous criminal.  Speaker Newt Gingrich voted for the bill containing this ban.[1]

The same bill also contained the now infamous Lautenberg gun ban, which lowered the threshold for losing one’s Second Amendment rights to a mere misdemeanor.[2] Gun owners could, as a result of this ban, lose their gun rights forever for non-violent shouting matches that occurred in the home — and, in many cases, lose their rights without a jury trial.

While a legislator might sometimes vote for a spending bill which contains objectionable amendments, that was clearly NOT the case with Newt Gingrich in 1996.  Speaking on Meet the Press in September of that year, Speaker Gingrich said the Lautenberg gun ban was “a very reasonable position.”[3] He even refused to cosponsor a repeal of the gun ban during the next Congress — despite repeated requests to do so.[4]

Also in 1996, Speaker Gingrich cast his vote for an anti-gun terror bill which contained several harmful provisions.  For example, one of the versions he supported (in March of that year) contained a DeLauro amendment that would have severely punished gun owners for possessing a laser sighting device while committing an infraction as minor as speeding on a federal reservation.[5] (Not only would this provision have stigmatized laser sights, it would have served as a first step to banning these items.)  Another extremely harmful provision was the Schumer amendment to “centralize Federal, State and Local police.”[6]

Final passage of H.R. 3610, Sept. 28, 1996 at:  http://clerk.house.gov/evs/1996/roll455.xml . Rep. Steve Stockman (R-TX) warned his colleagues about the hidden dangers in H.R. 3610, and in regard to the Kohl ban, noted that it would “prohibit most persons from carrying unloaded firearms in their automobiles.”

[3] Associated Press, “Gingrich Favors Handgun Ban for Domestic Abuse Convicts,” Deseret News, Sept. 16, 1996.  The full quote reveals how much Speaker Gingrich had adopted the anti-gunners’ line of thinking:  “I’m very much in favor of stopping people who engage in violence against their spouses from having guns,” the Georgia Republican said Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press.” “I think that’s a very reasonable position.”  But the fact that this gun ban covers misdemeanors in the home is primary evidence that NON-violent people have been subjected to lifetime gun bans for things like:  shouting matches, throwing a set of keys in the direction of another person, spanking a child, etc.

Both the above assessments are from Gun Owners of America

Clearly, neither candidate is a real friend of the Bill of Rights, and especially of the Second Amendment. Both are hell on taxes after all the whitewash has been removed. Both support the taking of fundamental rights away from people forever for less than felonious behaviors. Both believe in government running your personal day to day lives. Both are supporters of big government authoritarianism. Both are unacceptable, period…
