What Barack Hussein Obama has done for America

Photobucket

Barack Hussein Obama is the most fiscally unsound, destructive poser to ever take the Oval Office. Obama was NOT elected because he was the BEST choice for America, he was elected because the GOP ran the WORST possible pair of candidates that could be found.

Here is the TRUTH America; the GOP, in their all-inclusive BIG TENT mind set are about to give Obama the White House again … UNLESS: we can turn out the Conservative vote like never before as WE hold our noses and vote for what will truly be The Lesser of the Evils.

If you have any Liberal friends, I don’t, but if YOU do, forward this to them and encourage them to vote Obama OUT of office in November, NOT because he’s Black, or, half Black, NOT because WE are racists, but because Barack Hussein Obama is the biggest failure we have ever seen!

31 Foregone Facts Barack Obama Fans Should Ponder!

1. If a previous president had doubled the national debt which had taken more than two centuries to accumulate, in just one year, would you have approved?

2. If a previous president had then proposed to double the debt again within 10 years, would you have approved?

3. If a previous president would have spent nearly a trillion dollars in stimulus and guaranteed unemployment would not exceed 8%, would you have called him a liar?

4. If a previous president would have played golf for thirteen weekends in a row leaving it up to congressional leaders to deal with the greatest financial crisis since the great depression, would you have considered him disengaged and out of touch?

5. If a previous president had criticized a state law that he admitted to never even reading, would you have thought him an ignoramus?

6. If a previous president had passed an unconstitutional law that would have absorbed 1/6th of the America’s entire GDP, forced Americans to purchase a private product (in violation of the commerce clause), fined them if they didn’t, hired 16,000 new IRS agents to enforce it, and exempted 1400 organizations from having to abide by that new law, would you have thought him a mafia boss?

7. If a previous president joined the country of Mexico and sued a state in America to force that state to continue to allow illegal immigration, would you have questioned his patriotism and priorities and wonder who his allegiance was to?

8. If a previous president had pronounced Army Corpsman like you pronounce a dead corpse, would you have thought he was stupid?

9. If a previous president had put 87,000 people out of work by arbitrarily placing a moratorium on offshore oil drilling on companies that have one of the best safety records because one foreign company had an accident, would you have agreed?

10. If a previous president had used a forged document as the basis of the moratorium that would render 87,000 American workers unemployed would you have supported him?

11. If a previous president had been the first president to need a teleprompter to get through a press conference, would you have thought this is more proof of how inept he is on his own and that he’s really controlled by smarter people behind the scenes?

12. If a previous president had spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to take his wife to a play in NYC, would you have approved?

13. If a previous president had reduced your retirement plan holdings of GM stock by 90%, given the unions a majority stake in the car maker and shut down 789 perfectly profitable Chrysler dealerships because they were were owned by registered republicans, would you have approved?

14. If a previous president had made a joke at the expense of the Special Olympics, would you have approved?

15. If a previous president had given Gordon Brown a set of inexpensive and incorrectly formatted DVDs when Gordon Brown gave him a thoughtful and historically significant gift, would you have approved?

16. If a previous president had given the Queen of England an iPod containing audios of his speeches, would you have thought it a proud moment for America, or that a narcissist occupied the White House?

17. If a previous president had bowed to Kings of third world countries while on an apologetic tour, would you have approved?

18. If a previous president had visited Austria and made reference to the nonexistent “Austrian language,” would you have thought it a minor slip?

19. If a previous president had filled his cabinet and circle of advisers with people who don’t pay their own income taxes, would you have approved?

20. If a previous president had said there were 57 states in the United States, wouldn’t you have been shocked?

21. If a previous president would have flown all the way to Denmark to make a five minute speech about how the Olympics would benefit him walking out of his front door in his home town, would you not have thought him a conceited, egomaniac?

22. If a previous president had been so Spanish illiterate as to refer to “Cinco de Cuatro” in front of the Mexican ambassador when it was the fourth of May (Cuatro de Mayo), and continued to flub it when he tried again, would you have not been embarrassed?

23. If a previous president had burned 9,000 gallons of jet fuel to go plant a single tree on “Earth Day,” would you have concluded he’s a hypocrite?

24. If a previous presidents’ administration had okayed Air Force One flying low over millions of people followed by a jet fighter in downtown Manhattan that caused widespread panic, would you have thought him insensitive and clueless about what actually happened on 9/11?

25. If a previous president had created the position of 45 Czars who reported directly to him, bypassing the House and Senate and usurping the Constitution, would you have ever approved?

26. If a previous president had ordered the firing of the CEO of a major corporation, even though he had no constitutional authority to do so, would you have approved?

27. If a previous president had spent nearly $2 million dollars hiding his identity all the way back to his childhood, would you have been suspicious?

28. If a previous president had been raised a Muslim, spent more time living abroad in Islamic countries than he did in the United States, hung out with terrorists, and attended a hate church for 20 years, would you have not thought him brainwashed?

29. If a previous president had received a Nobel Peace Prize for nothing more than out campaigning his competitors, would you have thought him the laughing stock of recipients?

30. If a previous president had ordered a botched illegal gun running operation that resulted in American arms winding up in the hands of foreign drug cartels who in turn murdered Americans, would he have not had blood on his hands and been ordered to resign?

31. If a previous president had released a fraudulent long form birth certificate and was factually proven ineligible to even be the president whether he was born on American soil or not, would you have not demanded impeachment?

America can’t stand another 4 years of Barack Hussein Obama, sadly, I’m not sure that the GOP candidate is going to be any better; different does not necessarily equate to BETTER.

We’re in for a rough ride America, that’s all there is to it, and WHO is to blame?

We are.

Brock and Glock armed men guarded media matters boss as he took $400000 gun control donation

March 4, 2012

Media Matters reportedly took more than $400,000 from a pro-gun control group even as its boss walked the streets of Washington with a Glock-toting personal assistant acting as his bodyguard.

A donation from the Joyce Foundation was specifically earmarked for use by Media Matters to promote a $600,000 initiative on “gun and public safety issues.” But reports that paint Media Matters boss David Brock as a gun-guarded boss obsessed with security might make the next solicitation for Joyce funds a bit awkward.

“It doesn’t look good,” said Fraser Seitel, President of Emerald Partners Communications and public relations expert who authored the book “Rethinking Reputation.” “It’s subject to easy criticism.

“But it is a gray area in terms of public relations. Since [Media Matters] is so anti-NRA, to have their members packing heat leaves them open to criticism.”

Yes, I know, hypocrisy and Media Matters go hand in hand, as does the Soros funded Joyce Foundation.

Colorado Hunting Updates

I’m combining these various articles, enjoy!

GET READY TO HUNT COLORADO

DENVER – The Colorado Parks and Wildlife 2012 Big Game Hunting brochure is now available and limited license applications are being accepted for this fall’s big-game hunts. License applications for deer, elk, pronghorn, moose, sheep, goat and bear are due Tuesday, April 3.

For 2012, Colorado Parks and Wildlife has updated the interactive online version of the big game brochure that features videos with online application tips and hunting tips to use in the field. New tables in the brochure also help hunters easily identify units where licenses are valid and whether a hunter can hold more than one license at a time.

This year, Colorado Parks and Wildlife is again encouraging hunters to use the secure internet portal to submit their limited license applications. About 75 percent of hunters applied online in 2011, up from 64 percent in 2010.

Henrietta Turner, Colorado Parks and Wildlife’s license administration manager, said that last year, her staff called more than 15,000 individuals to address more than 45,000 errors or problems with their big game applications. Many of the errors would have resulted in the rejection of the license application. Only 25 of those calls went to hunters who submitted their application through the web.

“Our online system is easy, convenient and it keeps you from making some of the more common mistakes that could affect success in the drawing,” Turner said. “The web site also has a wealth of resources for hunters looking to plan a memorable hunt.”

Seven Parks and Wildlife offices, including Denver, Grand Junction, Colorado Springs, Fort Collins, Hot Sulphur Springs and Montrose offer internet terminals for hunters to use. In addition, the secure application site can be accessed through any public internet terminal.

The 2012 brochure also explains some significant changes to Colorado’s late youth elk hunting regulations. Since 2000, 12- to 17-year-olds with an unfilled elk tag could take advantage of cow elk hunting opportunities in any unit offering a late-season hunt. These late hunts were extremely successful in encouraging youth participation, but some areas around Craig, Meeker and Steamboat Springs experienced high levels of hunting pressure. Changes to the program this year will ensure hunting pressure is more evenly distributed.

“When we were over our elk population objective, we committed to landowners that we would develop innovative ways of reducing elk numbers and elk conflict,” said Ron Velarde, Regional Manager for northwest Colorado. “We’ve accomplished that and we found a great way to encourage youth participation. Now that we’re getting close to population objectives, we want to be sure these young hunters have a quality experience in the field if they take advantage of these late hunts.”

Colorado Parks and Wildlife hunt planners are available again this year to help hunters who have application questions or are looking for areas to hunt. Hunt planners can be reached Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mountain time at 303-291-7526 (303-291-PLAN).

Hunters ages 18 to 64 are reminded that they must have a $10 Habitat Stamp prior to applying for or purchasing a hunting or fishing license in Colorado. Only one stamp is required per hunter per year. A lifetime Habitat Stamp is available for $300.

The Colorado Wildlife Habitat Stamp program was initiated by sportsmen and established by the Colorado legislature in 2005. Proceeds from the Habitat Stamp have helped conserve more than 124,000 acres of wildlife habitat and secure more than 54,000 acres of new public hunting and fishing access.

Hunters born on or after Jan. 1, 1949 are also reminded that they must complete an approved state or provincial hunter education course prior to applying for a hunting license in Colorado. Since the hunter education requirement was imposed in 1970, hunting accidents have significantly declined in the state.

The interactive version of the brochure can be accessed at www.bit.ly/COBigGame2012

BEAR HUNTING WORKSHOP PLANNED IN MONTROSE

MONTROSE, Colo. — If you’ve ever wanted to hunt bears or if you want to improve your chances of harvesting one, plan to attend a workshop sponsored by Colorado Parks and Wildlife on March 10 in Montrose.

Tony Bonacquista, a district wildlife manager and experienced bear hunter, will lead the presentation on hunting Colorado’s black bears. He’ll discuss bear biology, hunting tactics, field dressing, rules and regulations, and human-bear conflict issues.

“Bears are very challenging to hunt, but hunters who know where to look and how to hunt them can improve their success rates,” Bonacquista said.

Bear populations are healthy throughout the Montrose area of western Colorado. During hunting season in the early fall, bears are eating for up to 20 hours per day. They concentrate on acorns and berries, high-energy food sources they need to pack on the pounds in preparation for hibernation.

Cost for the workshop is $10 which includes lunch. To register, call the Montrose Parks and Wildlife office at 970-252-6000. The class will be limited to 30 people.

What: Bear hunting workshop When: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., March 10 Where: Colorado Parks and Wildlife, 2300 S. Townsend Ave., in Montrose.

Cynthia Lummis closet anti Bill of Rights?

March 2, 2012

From Wyoming Gun Owners, used with permission.

While you and I were busy fighting an expansion of gun-free zones here in Wyoming, the folks in Washington D.C. were moving to enact new gun control on a unsuspecting public.

Sadly Representative Cynthia Lummis voted YES on a measure that criminalizes someone that is lawfully carrying a firearm for self defense.

Under this federal legislation, H.R. 347 – Restricted Buildings and Grounds Improvement Act, anyone addressing the government with grievances (like the first amendment guarantees) while lawfully in possession of a firearm, could face ten years in prison.

The gun grabbers recipe is simple:

Create new places where the second amendment no longer applies – Start by taking something as harmless as tea party gathering, combine new regulations that say it’s disruptive of government business, finally throw law abiding gun owners into the mix, and there you have it, gun owners under the bus again!

Cheyenne--Tea-Party protesters in front of the Capital, many were lawfully armed.
Cheyenne Tea-Party gathered in front of the Wyoming Capital — many were lawfully armed. (Federal building in background)

The text in H.R. 347 is so telling of the real agenda — expansive gun control– just being in the “proximity” of federal property — could be punishable.

Who defines “proximity”?

Does it mean 10 or 10,000 feet?

Please call Rep. Cynthia Lummis and tell her a vote for “gun control” no matter how insignificant it may seem is a vote against Wyoming.

Call and email Rep. Lummis here

To Liberty,

Anthony Bouchard
   Executive Director
Wyoming Gun Owners

P.S. Wyoming Gun Owners is the ONLY pro-gun organization working at this level — please consider contributing to the effort by chipping in just $20 so we can stay in the fight.

Free fire zones for the unlawful are not the answer to some perceived “problem.” Remember, it’s the forces of anti freedom and liberty that take the position of never letting a crisis, real or imaginary, go to waste.

The incremental chipping away of our rights and freedoms is not to be taken lightly and we should, each and every one of us let our leaders at all levels know that.

“A right delayed is a right denied.”

March 1, 2012
BELLEVUE, WA – The Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms today condemned Democrat members of the Iowa House of Representatives for leaving the capitol rather than debate , and possibly vote on, two pro-gun measures affirming the right to keep and bear arms, and the right of self-defense.

As reported by the Des Moines Register, “Iowa Democrats…left the Capitol in protest of two gun bills the Republican majority had planned to debate today…” House Joint Resolution 2009 proposes an amendment to the state constitution that includes a specific right to keep and bear arms. House Bill 2215 is a “stand-your-ground” measure that would expand the use of reasonable force to include lethal force, to resist grave bodily harm or death.

“Once again,” said CCRKBA Chairman Alan Gottlieb, “Democrats have painted themselves as the party of gun control by disappearing rather than debating measures to strengthen the firearm civil rights of Iowa citizens.”

Gottlieb is co-author of These Dogs Don’t Hunt: The Democrats’ War on Guns with Dave Workman. He noted that Democrats claim they were ‘double-crossed’ because the bills were scheduled for debate today, allegedly not giving them adequate time to prepare amendments. Yet, he said, it was reported that they had already offered at least one amendment to one of the bills.

“We are disappointed,” he said, “that once again Democrats choose to be disingenuous about ducking out on gun owners. It is a sad example of legislative cowardice, since both bills will likely pass the Republican-controlled House. Iowa’s Democrat caucus can’t run away from that and live in denial.

“It is telling that Iowa Democratic Party Chairwoman Sue Dvorsky referred to both of these measures as ‘dangerous bills’ when she spoke with the Des Moines Register,” Gottlieb noted. “There is nothing dangerous about protecting a civil right already delineated in several state constitutions and the Bill of Rights, nor is there anything dangerous about expanding the self-defense rights of Hawkeye State citizens. Democrats are living in denial if they think they can delay these measures into obscurity.

“I will remind them of the words spoken by Dr. Martin Luther King,” he concluded. “A right delayed is a right denied.”

With more than 650,000 members and supporters nationwide, the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms is one of the nation’s premier gun rights organizations. As a non-profit organization, the Citizens Committee is dedicated to preserving firearms freedoms through active lobbying of elected officials and facilitating grass-roots organization of gun rights activists in local communities throughout the United States. The Citizens Committee can be reached by phone at (425) 454-4911, on the Internet at www.ccrkba.org or by email to InformationRequest@ccrkba.org.

Where Does Romney Stand Today on the Second Amendment?

February 27, 2012
Gun Owners of America today sent an Open Letter to Gov. Mitt Romney, asking him — yet again — to submit his survey responses to GOA.
“We sent you a questionnaire not once, not twice but three times now,” said GOA Vice Chairman Tim Macy.
“What did you send back? A form letter stating you are pro-Second Amendment — with absolutely nothing to back up this laughable claim. As Governor, you were proudly anti-Second Amendment, but as you have with most issues, you have now changed your stripes to spots.”
GOA has posted a description of Romney’s Second Amendment record at: http://gunowners.org/mittromney-2012.htm
In this analysis, you will see his past support for all of Massachusetts’ strict gun control laws, including his support for semi-auto bans and waiting periods.
Mitt Romney said in a recent speech that he was “severely conservative” as Governor of Massachusetts. But if that’s true, then why is he steadfastly refusing to answer the Gun Owners of America questionnaire on Second Amendment issues?
GOA’s Tim Macy asks: “Do you want to clear up this possible misconception I (and most members of Gun Owners of America) have about you? If you do, then call me at (916) 984-1400. Even better, why don’t you fill out one of the THREE GOA questionnaires we’ve sent to you so that millions of American gun owners will know where you stand?”
GOA would ask its members to forward our open letter — which can be read at http://gunowners.org/open-letter-romney.htm — to Gov. Romney.
You may contact Mitt Romney at:
* Email: info@mittromney.com
* Phone: (857) 288-3500
Please let us know of any response you get from Gov. Romney.
And be sure to forward the Open Letter to your friends and family.

25 Reasons to Impeach Obama

February 25, 2012

By Fred Dardick, Impeach Obama Contributor       Hat Tip to Texas Fred

Last week Rep. Michelle Bachmann was asked what Republicans had in mind should they retake the House of Representatives this November, she replied “I think that all we should do is issue subpoenas and have one hearing after another and expose all the nonsense that is going on.”

Considering the sheer volume of illegal and impeachable offences committed by Obama and his cohorts over the past couple of years, the House will be very busy indeed.

Putting aside Obama’s inept leadership, weakening of our national defenses and transparent attempt to socialize our great nation, there are a number of more practical crimes that once investigated could lead to Obama’s impeachment and perhaps even his well deserved imprisonment.

25 Obama Crimes the House Should Investigate in 2011

  1. Convicted felon and Chicago real estate developer Tony Rezko’s purchase of land adjacent to Obama’s house in Hyde Park, IL. In 2006, Rezko sold a 10 foot strip of his property to Obama for $104,500, rendering the remainder of Rezko’s $625,000 investment too small to be developed and, for all intensive purposes, worthless.
  2. The provision of the Obama campaign donor lists to ACORN in 2007 and 2008, more complete lists than the ones he provided to the FEC. ACORN used the lists to illegally raise money for Obama’s election from donors who had already maxed out their legally allowable contributions.
  3. Widespread voter fraud including voter intimidation, ballot stuffing, falsified documents, and threats of violence against Hillary Clinton supporters committed by the Obama campaign and ACORN during the 2008 Democrat primary election. For more information see my CFP article How Obama Used an Army of Thugs to Steal the 2008 Democratic Party Nomination.
  4. Obama’s refusal to release his long form birth certificate which would show conclusively that he is a dual citizen and therefore not constitutionally eligible to serve as President. Obama’s college records, which have also not been released, would also contain information regarding his dual citizenship status.
  5. Protecting union interests over those of GM and Chrysler bond holders during bankruptcy proceedings, forcing investors to accept millions of dollars in losses in direct violation of bankruptcy laws, money to which they were legally entitled.
  6. Preferential treatment given to minority and women owned car dealerships by Obama administration officials as part of the auto industry bailout program and the forced closing of a disproportionate number of rural dealerships located in areas that did not vote for Obama.
  7. Unsubstantiated firing of Corporation for National and Community Service Inspector General Gerald Walpin for exposing Sacramento Mayor and Obama supporter Kevin Johnson’s misuse of an $850,000 AmeriCorps grant.
  8. Purchase of Congressional support for the passage of Obama’s healthcare bill including the “Cornhusker Kickback”, “Louisiana Purchase” and having the Department of Interior increase water allocations to the Central Valley of California to secure the votes of Democrat Reps. Dennis Cardoza and Jim Costa.
  9. Lying to the American people by promising they could keep their healthcare coverage if they wanted to, when in reality tens of millions will be forced out of their current plans.
  10. Attempted bribery of Rep. Joe Sestak with job offers to get him to drop out of the Senate primary race against Sen. Arlen Specter.
  11. Directing the EPA to unilaterally set carbon emission standards, thus bypassing Congress which opposes Obama’s energy reform bill. For more information see my CFP article Forget Cap and Trade: EPA Regulation of CO2 Emissions Will Begin in 10 Months.
  12. The Obama administration’s statement that a panel of experts had agreed with their plan for a 6 month Gulf Coast drilling moratorium, when in actuality none of them had supported the measure.
  13. Bullying BP to set up a $20 billion slush fund to compensate Gulf Coast businesses and residents affected by the oil spill, to be administered by an Obama political appointee without any judicial or congressional oversight.
  14. Implementing a third oil-drilling moratorium after the first two were thrown out of court, creating a de facto Gulf Coast offshore drilling ban in opposition to two judge’s rulings.
  15. Establishment of a commission to investigate the Gulf Coast oil spill that contains not one oil industry expert and whose transparent purpose is to push a partisan political agenda rather than investigate the cause of the disaster.
  16. Obama’s policy of intentionally not securing our nation’s borders, in opposition to Article IV, Section 4 of the Constitution which calls for the President to protect states from foreign invasion, in an attempt to blackmail Republican support for comprehensive immigration reform. In essence, Obama is holding border states and residents politically hostage during a time they are being overrun by a narco-paramilitary invasion.
  17. Department of Justice illegal race based policies regarding voter fraud as exposed by former Justice attorney J. Christian Adams. This includes the dropping of voter intimidation charges against 2 Black Panthers brandishing weapons in front of a voting location in Philadelphia and the stated intention by political appointees to ignore voter crimes committed by African Americans, Latinos and other minorities.
  18. Department of Justice purposefully allowing some states to continue their disenfranchisement of military personnel serving overseas in direct opposition to the 2009 Military and Overseas Voter Empowerment (MOVE) Act, which was established in response to the more than 17,000 military votes that were not counted in the 2008 election because ballots had arrived after the deadline.
  19. Recess appointment of Donald Berwick as head of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services without even a token attempt to put him through the Congressional nomination process, signaling that Congress’s constitutional obligation to vet presidential appointees means nothing to Obama. The same can be said of the 30+ Obama administration czars.
  20. Spending $23 million of taxpayer money through the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) to support a constitutional referendum in Kenya in spite of the Siljander Amendment, which makes it illegal for the U.S. to lobby for abortion in other countries. The Kenyan referendum was partially written by Planned Parenthood and is designed to legalize abortion in that nation.
  21. The participation of the Obama administration in the firing of Sherry Sherrod from the USDA without due process because of publicized out of context remarks she made at a NAACP meeting in March 2010.
  22. The White House sham investigation of BP’s involvement in the release of the mass murdering Lockerbie bomber from prison. The Obama administration not only knew beforehand of the Scottish government’s plan to set Abdel Baset al-Megrahi free on “compassionate” grounds, they even sent a letter to Scottish authorities stating their preference for his remaining in Scotland over his transfer to a Libyan prison.
  23. The canceling of 77 properly filed oil field development contracts approved by the Bush administration by Interior Secretary Ken Salazar, preventing the extraction of up to 3 trillion gallons of oil buried under Colorado, Utah, Wyoming and North Dakota, more than enough to end our dependence on foreign oil and supply the U.S. with its energy needs for hundreds of years at current consumption rates.
  24. Investigations by the Department of Homeland Security to determine the political affiliation of people making Freedom of Information Act requests and the subsequent delay and even altogether ignoring of requests made by Republican affiliated individuals.
  25. The hardest to prosecute in court, but worst crime of all that Obama has perpetrated against the American people is the economic tyranny that his socialist policies have wrecked upon our nation. While Obama has been living the life of a king, including frequent 5 star vacations, dozens of concerts at the White House and endless rounds of golf, all paid for by taxpayer money—the increased transportation and security costs alone are in the millions of dollars—he has called for the rest of us to endure economic sacrifice. The annual trillion dollar deficits and borrowing of 41 cents of every dollar of government spending by Obama is leading to unsustainable and potentially catastrophic debt.

Something to Look Forward to
These 25 crimes are just what I’ve been able to dig up over the past couple of weeks. No doubt there are many more that I have missed or still as yet undiscovered. While any one may be sufficient to impeach Obama, taken as a whole it demonstrates that Obama has little to no regard for the rule of law.

I look forward to a Republican controlled House of Representatives uncovering Obama’s corrupt dealings and exposing this man as unworthy of the office of President

Turncoats add more fuel to the fire: Republicans Jon Kyl and John McCain (AZ), Bob Corker and Lamar Alexander (TN), Susan Collins and Olympia Snowe (ME), Jeff Sessions (AL), Lisa Murkowski (AK), Scott Brown (MA), and Lindsey Graham (SC)

February 24, 2012

Last week, we alerted you to a radical anti-gun nominee President Obama named to the federal bench, Jesse Furman.

To no one’s surprise, Furman is cut from the same judicial cloth as other Obama nominees such as Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan.

For instance, in an article published a number of years ago—but from which Furman has not distanced himself—he writes that: “Probably the best explanation for the amount of violent crime in the United States is its fascination with guns.”

GOA members flooded the Senate with emails, and many Senators voted against Furman.  But Majority Leader Harry Reid kept every single Democrat in lock-step with the Obama agenda, and Furman was confirmed to a lifetime appointment to the bench on a vote of 62-34.

Republicans Jon Kyl and John McCain (AZ), Bob Corker and Lamar Alexander (TN), Susan Collins and Olympia Snowe (ME), Jeff Sessions (AL), Lisa Murkowski (AK), Scott Brown (MA), and Lindsey Graham (SC) joined all Democrats in voting for Furman.

This vote serves to highlight the difficulty in protecting the courts from anti-Second Amendment nominees who come before the Congress.  Obama will continue to nominate far left gun grabbers, and Harry Reid will be his go-to guy for confirmation votes.

And if Obama wins a second term, his agenda will become only more brazen.  That’s why a top goal of GOA in 2012 is to help elect as many truly pro-gun friends as we can to the U.S. Senate.

It is crucial that Harry Reid does not retain the gavel next year.  But it is not enough to just elect members of the opposing party.  We need to elect strong candidates who understand the Constitution and who will not bow to pressure from the White House—whoever the occupant may be—or from the leadership of either party in the Congress.

Thank you for standing with GOA as we fight these battles on a daily basis.\

Sincerely,

Tim Macy
Vice Chairman

Fed’s Fisher: Obama Plans Fuel ‘Fears of Inflation’

February 22, 2012

More Fed easing might backfire, and Congress and the Obama administration should streamline tax and regulatory policies to spur long-term job growth, says Richard Fisher, president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas.

“No amount of monetary accommodation will change the pathology” that businesses face, Fisher said Feb. 15 in a speech in San Marco, Texas.

“Excessive monetary accommodation might only add a further dosage of angst, fueling fears of future inflation,” Bloomberg News quoted Fisher as saying.
On Jan. 25, the Fed said it would keep rates near zero at least through late 2014, extending a previous date of mid-2013 or later.

The Dallas Fed president, who doesn’t vote on policy this year, has been among the most vocal internal Fed critics, dissenting twice last year against moves to push down long-term rates and to keep the benchmark U.S. interest rate near zero until at least mid-2013. He voted five times in 2008 in favor of tighter policy.

“The greatest impediments to investing in and creating jobs in the U.S. are the current tax code and regulatory burden and uncertainty, as well as lagging workforce skills,” Fisher told the Texas Manufacturers Summit 2012.

The 62-year-old Fisher cited a recent Harvard Business School survey of businesses that “more than 70 percent of respondents expect U.S. competitiveness to decline” during the next few years.

“No one ? business operator, worker or consumer ? can plan for the long term with confidence until the federal government removes the angst that is associated with run-away deficits and unfunded liabilities that threaten to drown our economy in debt,” Fisher said.

Fed Chairman Ben S. Bernanke said during a news conference after the Jan. 25 Federal Open Market Committee meeting that the Fed is keeping the option open of buying more bonds. The Fed pushed down the rate close to zero in December 2008 and has engaged in two rounds of asset purchases totaling $2.3 trillion to boost the economy and reduce the jobless rate of more than 8 percent.

Fisher briefly described the U.S. economy, by saying, “The national unemployment rate is beginning to ebb. But too many Americans remain out of work and for too long.”

Fisher devoted most of his speech to describing the economy of Texas, which he said has been one of three states to reach peak employment again following the past recession in part because of tax and regulatory policies that favor job creation. A restaurant operator may spend as much as two years to get a permit for expansion in California that takes six weeks in Texas, Fisher said.

“If you examine the differences among New York and California and Texas, you will note that these former power states have less flexible labor rules,” said Fisher, who has been president of the Dallas Fed since 2005 and whose district includes Texas, northern Louisiana, and southern New Mexico.

The Dallas Fed and other regional banks released unprecedented details on Jan. 31 about their personal wealth. Fisher’s disclosure listed holdings exceeding $20 million, including millions of dollars in municipal bonds and 7,113 acres of land in states including Iowa, Missouri, and Texas.
