A Colorado Voter Guide

November 2, 2008

The Colorado ballot is pretty cluttered this year compared to others that I have seen over the course of thirty years. I am using Gunny Bob’s template from radio 850 KOA . Although I disagree with him in some instances as to the “why” my recommendations are the same. I also realize that many of my Libertarian friends will disagree with me, and that’s fine. They are after all, the very same people that put forth a gun grabber as a Senate candidate. As well as the current candidate for President that helped write a law that turned Anglo American law on it’s head. ( some items were re-spelled so that Marc would have to look beyond spelling to bitch about what was posted.)

Amendment 46: Vote YES. This is an anti-racism, sexism and bigotry measure. It will outlaw the granting of preferential treatment based upon physical characteristics. In other words, it prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, gender, national origin or ethnicity.

Amendment 47: Vote YES. This proposal would protect workers from corrupt unions by making Colorado a right-to-work state by disallowing the mandating of union dues or fees as a condition of employment. In other words, it prevents a union from placing a choke hold on workers who choose not be part of a union. Unions are against this proposal, naturally.

Amendment 48: Vote YES. Planned Parenthood, the eugenics-based largest abortion mill in the world, is against this proposal, which would grant person hood status to the unborn. It would NOT outlaw abortions in any way, shape or form.

Amendment 49: Vote YES. Unions are attacking this one because it would prohibit unions from automatically seizing dues directly from paycheck if you work for the state, as if the money is theirs rather than yours.

Amendment 50: Vote YES. The nanny state is against this measure, which would give people more freedom to play gambling games and make bets they wish to make. If you want to play roulette or shoot craps or bet more in a game, what business is it of big government’s?

Amendment 51: Vote NO. This is a tax increase for another special-interest group. The developmentally disabled are already funded just fine.

Amendment 54: Vote YES. This measure would outlaw what amounts to bribery in government contract bidding with contractors making gigantic contributions in order to win contracts. This is an anti-bid-rigging proposal.

Referendum L: Vote YES. This would lower the minimum age to serve in the Colorado House or Senate from 25 to 21. If a citizen can serve in the military at 17, why not the legislature at 21?

Referendum M: VOTE YES. This is simply eliminating obsolete old laws relating to land value increases.

Referendum N: Vote YES. Ditto above but this one eliminates obsolete laws on liquor.

Referendum O: Vote NO. The people’s right to place state constitution amendment proposals on the ballot must be protected. Referendum O, if passed, will restrict that right. This is an anti-voters’-rights proposal.

Pakistani’s fight back

November 1, 2008

Pakistani’s are taking the war to the Taliban in a way that reminds me of the American Revolution. They are fed up with the strong arm tactics of those that know better than they do how to live their lives. Apparently, they are doing thios on their own. No help from the C.I.A. or anyone else.

Three cheers for these people! Freedom and liberty are all to often found on the edge of a sword, or from the muzzle of a gun. The time very well may come that Americans will need to do something along the same lines. Our very own government is becoming more, and more “Big Brother” as we enter this new century.

Another Obama crony on his way to the Big House

October 31, 2008

Government does not get much more corrupt than in Obama’s home state of Illinois. Democrat Governor Rod Blagojevich, a close ally of Obama, was elected on a promise to clean up the corruption, but how does one get rid of corruption when Democrats have control of the Illinois House, Senate and all but one statewide office?

Blagojevich is under investigation for a number of, shall we say, suspect campaign and business dealings. The most notable of these is Blagojevich’s close association with one Antonin “Tony” Rezko, who has been indicted for his part in a scheme to obtain kickbacks from the state. Blagojevich’s wife, Patricia, was a real estate business partner with Rezko for more than a decade. In Rezko’s trial, it was revealed that 75 percent of those who gave more than $25,000 to Blagojevich’s campaign received state contracts or appointments to state boards. Rezko was also indicted in January on charges of money laundering for an Iraqi billionaire, Nadhmi Auchi, whom military analysts describe as one of Saddam’s bagmen.

Rezko’s fingerprints are all over Obama’s political campaigns. He was Obama’s Chicago fundraising patriarch, a “fixer.” Rezko and his bagmen donated more than $225,000 to Obama’s campaigns.

Rezko’s fingerprints also adorn Obama’s 2005 purchase of his swanky Georgian mansion on Chicago’s south side—right down the street from where Obama’s new neighbor, terrorist William Ayers, launched Obama’s political career. (We know, given Obama’s rhetoric, he must have lived in a government housing project and commuted by mass transit.) That mansion and the adjacent lot were originally one parcel, but the owner divided it into two, and the adjacent lot was purchased by Rezko for the full $625,000 asking price—far above market value. On the same day, Obama purchased his mansion on the first lot for well under market value. One might conclude that Rezko subsidized Obama’s discount with the purchase of the adjacent lot but Rezko conveniently holds a receipt for a “loan” from his Iraqi friend, Auchi.

Who will be next? Governor Rod Blagojevich? Perhaps Mayor Daley? One can only hope!

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month

October 31, 2008

The forces of misandry have spread their doctrine of hatred like a metastatic cancer. Thoroughly trouncing the Constitution in the process. Nearly every day we hear about “abuses” at Gitmo. But, I ask, what about those same things that have been going on right here in America for years? How is it that the American people have stood by while these forces of hatred have imposed de facto sexist ex post facto law? This immoral law has been used as a stepping stone toward passing other laws that restrict, or deny rights to people based upon such trivial things as not paying parking tickets. Hence the need to once again post about this deadly threat to the American way of life.

A report put out by RADAR (Respecting Accuracy in Domestic Abuse Reporting) entitled “An Epidemic of Civil Rights Abuses: Ranking of States’ Domestic Violence Laws” ranks New Jersey’s domestic violence statute as one of the laws “most likely to violate the civil rights of persons accused of domestic violence.” Nevertheless, New Jersey’s statute is not an anomaly, as a review of the report and another RADAR report, “Perverse Incentives, False Allegations, and Forgotten Children“, reveals. Political scientist Stephen Baskerville’s online report “Family Violence in America: The Truth about Domestic Violence and Child Abuse” makes it clear that false allegations of domestic violence and the legal system that rewards them is not only a national problem, but an international one as well. His book, Taken Into Custody: The War Against Fathers, Marriage, and the Family, confirms this. Just released by Cumberland House, it cites as an example of the national problem a shocking statistic put out by the Department of Justice: “a restraining order is issued every two minutes in Massachusetts.”

Big Media probably won’t report on the problem anytime soon. It’s therefore up to bloggers, podcasters, and You Tubers to expose the due process fiasco that media silence has allowed to persist.

While that article deals primarily with New Jersey virtually every state as a mirror system that specializes in the destruction of lives based upon political correctness and misandry. Not to mention prosecutors that care little for what is right or wrong. Indeed, they only care about getting another feather for their war bonnet.

Domestic violence is a real problem. The taking of civil rights for less than felonious behavior by omnipotent government agencies is a tragedy( If not outright treason.). If these people are so evil, then why were they not tried as felons? Why turn Anglo American law on it’s head by allowing for the rules and penalties to be changed after the fact. Why allow felons to be allowed to have their rights restored, but not misdemeanor or even people convicted of infractions? This situation is about hate, power, and political correctness. Not about wife beating or any of the other red herrings that get infused into the issue.

A Day at the Range … cont.

October 31, 2008

cont. from : https://patricksperry.wordpress.com/2008/10/29/a-day-at-the-range-new-rifles/#comments

Diane’s new rifle: She is sixteen years old and recently took the Hunter Safety Course after deciding that if all the boys were out hunting that is where she wanted to be. After all, she makes a habit of showing up the boys at their own game. Her mother thinks it is more like “she wants to be around the boys…” In any case I passed some pleasantries with her mother while everyone was getting set up. I learned that Diane’s father had been killed in an accident when she was twelve, and that her mother worked as a waitress. That she had looked for an inexpensive rifle for her daughter, and that a friend had given Diane an old scope for her new rifle. It was a Burris 3 X 9, and appeared to still be in very good condition. I personally know those scopes to be among the best that are made, anywhere, at any price. Her rifle? It was a Mossberg ATR 100 chambered in 270 Winchester. Her ammunition was Remington Core-Lokt 130 grain. This, friends, is a hunting set up on the cheap. Other than the scope this is, well, to be honest, a Wal-Mart set up front to rear. Thank God these folks have friends… Jim’s Grandfather (see above story) offered to give it a once over, and they took the offer. He swabbed out the barrel removing a lot of shipping / storage gunk, and cleaned off the bolt, a tiny squirt of Rem Oil down the trigger group, and she was ready to go! Folks, after what I went through with an early production 835 I am not a big Mossberg fan, to say the least! So, what happened went Diane got to shooting? I had yet another experience in crow pie eating. I am beginning to think that I am an expert of such fare… Diane shot five strings of three rounds each. Results? The last two strings were both on the eight, and roughly three quarters of an inch… This entire set up cost less than three hundred dollars. Go figure! I have to believe that with more practice and refinement Diane will, in fact, be showing up most of the boys!

Wishful thinking or conspiracy..?

October 30, 2008

One of the hottest stories in the world of blogging right now is the lawsuit concerning Barack Obama’s citizenship. While intriguing I have to believe that this issue comes from the Tin Foil Hat Brigade Anyone that reads this blog knows that I am no supporter of Obama. Further, that an Obama win could very well split this nation to the point of an actual civil war. Not to mention that a loss will lead to widespread rioting. We are in for a rough ride irrespective of who wins the election.

Then again, the popular election notwithstanding, we are not a democracy, we are a Constitutional Republic thank God! With a Bill of Rights that protects minorities from the majority.

Is, or has the United States ever been perfect? Of course not. This nation was, and is, a dynamic experiment in self governance. We do not have a King, although Chicago appears to have an aristocracy. We do not seek via government to impose religion upon the people by force of arms, although that has occurred in our past, and to a degree still do. Current laws seek to legislate morality in the conduct of religion. Least we not forget what happened at Waco.

Then we have the issue of effectively being able to defend ones self, family, and community. can you say gun control..? I knew you could!

So, after Obama is enthroned, what brand of tin foil should I make my hat from, so that I get the best reception for such mundane ideas as Liberty and Freedom..?

‘ACORN USES PUBLIC FUNDS TO STEAL ELECTIONS, KNOW YOUR GUN RIGHTS,’ SAYS SAF

October 28, 2008

BELLEVUE, WA – ACORN, the publicly-funded national organization linked to voter fraud in several states is now actively interfering with the exercise of firearm civil rights in New Jersey, and the Second Amendment Foundation is calling for an immediate federal investigation.

“ACORN has, since 1998, received an estimated $31 million in government funding,” said SAF founder Alan Gottlieb. “Now they have intervened in a New Jersey gun rights case in defense of an illegal Jersey City one-gun-a-month ordinance that violates the state preemption statute.

“For the past few election cycles,” Gottlieb noted, “ACORN has clearly grown more partisan toward the political Left. ACORN’S PAC has endorsed Sen. Barack Obama for president. That’s hardly surprising since he used to serve as their legal counsel and he taught the group about community organizing. ACORN and Obama are lockstep in seeking to destroy our Second Amendment rights.

“The organization is currently under FBI investigation over allegations of voter fraud in several states,” he added. “Bad enough that ACORN is implicated in fraudulent activities in several states, but now an ACORN chapter in the Garden State is working against the ability of New Jersey gun owners to exercise a constitutionally-protected individual civil right to own a handgun.

“It is an outrage that this group has intervened to defend an anti-gun ordinance that has already been declared illegal by the court,” he observed. “So long as ACORN accepts one penny of public funding, the organization should remain absolutely neutral on social issues, political campaigns and especially legal actions defending the right to keep and bear arms.

“We call upon the FBI to expand the scope of its ACORN investigation and focus on the group’s involvement in the Jersey City case,” Gottlieb stated. “We support Ohio Congressman John Boehner’s request that the White House immediately block all federal funding of ACORN activities until this group’s questionable activities are fully investigated. We want to know how they are paying for attorneys, and why Seton Hall’s Center for Social Justice and the Public Interest Law Center are providing legal assistance to ACORN for this effort.

“This is still the United States, not a socialist gulag” Gottlieb concluded. “Public money should not be given to private organizations which then turn around and utilize that funding to usurp the electoral process and erode constitutionally-guaranteed civil rights.”

If you ever run for office, don’t do this:

October 28, 2008

I received this from Senator Greg Brophy. It’s a laugh, but it is serious… kind of a gotcha!

In the middle of the campaign season, while everyone is tired of the ads and ready for this to just be over, this came to me and I just have to share.

You need a little background information first. I helped a candidate for state senate, Don Ytterberg, put together a comparison piece that shows some votes made by his opponent, Dan Gibbs, that Don thinks are out of line with the people that live in SD16. Two of the votes were amendments to bills that Gibbs ultimately voted for after voting against the key amendments. The first amendment is known as Jessica’s Law, which puts sexual predators away for a minimum of 25 years (something that 99.9% of America thinks is a good idea). Dan Gibbs voted against that amendment on 5-1-2007. The second amendment is one that I ran to mandate a $50,000 bond on illegal alien drug dealers so that they won’t just skip the country when they are released. Gibbs voted against that one last session and then ultimately voted for the final bill. During a televised radio interview, Gibbs brings up the negative mailer (comparison piece) and tries to show that it is inaccurate. Big mistake because Ytterberg has the votes in his briefcase.

You also need to know that the Colorado General Assembly has rules on amendments to bills that say the amendment has to relate to the bill. In this case, I’m not writing about an appropriations Christmas tree project like you see in Washington D.C. I’m talking about crime bills that were being discussed and debated on the floor of the House and the floor of the Senate. Both of the amendments narrowly lost, so every voted mattered.

If you ever run for office, don’t do this:

Obama, and socialism… Tape located

October 28, 2008

The more Obama tries to cover his tracks, the more apparent his totalitarian goals become exposed.

“We now have Obama on tape saying the Constitution is this country’s problem and stating that socialism, beginning with the federally enforced redistribution of wealth from those who have to those who have less, are his core philosophies. What the hell have I been telling you for more than a year now?”

Then we have his ideas about the Constitution.
I myself am pretty fed up with the people that think Obama is no threat to our way of life.

Gun sales thriving in uncertain times

October 27, 2008

Well you knew it had to happen sooner or later. Someone in the mainstream media actually hit the “X” with a story about the American people, the economy, the election, and gun rights. This story is not from the NRA, the GOA, or anyone even remotely connected with them.

Americans have cut back on buying cars, furniture and clothes in a tough economy, but there’s one consumer item that’s still enjoying healthy sales: guns. Purchases of firearms and ammunition have risen 8 to 10 percent this year, according to state and federal data.

No kidding? I wonder why?

Several variables drive sales, but many dealers, buyers and experts attribute the increase in part to concerns about the economy and fears that if Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois wins the presidency, he will join with fellow Democrats in Congress to enact new gun controls. Obama has said that he believes in an individual right to bear arms but that he also supports “common-sense safety measures.”

Have they recently cleaned off those rose tinted spectacles and really taken a look at who is running for President perhaps?

Industry experts and law enforcement officials point to several examples over the years. In 1994, there was a rush to buy guns when President Bill Clinton pushed for a ban on military-style semiautomatic rifles. Handgun sales jumped last year after the massacre at Virginia Tech as some worried about personal protection and others feared sweeping restrictions on handguns, pushing applications for concealed gun permits in Virginia alone up 60 percent. People also rushed to buy guns after the 1992 riots in Los Angeles and the breakdown of order in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina.

This must be a misprint! he called them what they are!

Bob Leyshion, who visited a gun shop in Manassas recently, said the economic crisis and Obama’s lead in the polls were on his mind.

“People are preparing for catastrophe right now,” said Leyshion, 55, of Nokesville. “It’s insurance. With the stock market crash and people out of work, and the illegal aliens in this area, the probability of civil disorder is very high.”

This guy needs to listen, Palin might be alright, but her being selected as the V.P. candidate in no way cleans the slate with gun owners for McCain…

“The industry and sportsmen have not been in love with McCain, but the selection of Palin wiped that all away,” said Anthony Aeschliman, a spokesman for the National Shooting Sports Foundation.

Pandering is much to light a statement!

Brad, 42, and Margaret Marcus, 47, who were at a Fairfax County shooting range recently with their two children for weekly target practice, said they sped up the purchase of two semiautomatic rifles that had been banned during the Clinton administration because they feared they could become illegal again if Obama wins. The couple, who run an online retailing business from their Ashburn home, said they viewed Obama’s remarks about protecting the Second Amendment as campaign trail “pandering.”

I must admit that this writer had to show some serious chutzpa too actually say in a published story what the people in America really are thinking. Him, as well as his Editor and the Publisher might want to be sure that their last Will and Testament are up to date though.
