Mourning in America

November 5, 2008

“If there is anyone out there who still doubts that America is a place where all things are possible, who still wonders if the dream of our founders is alive in our time, who still questions the power of our democracy, tonight is your answer. … It’s been a long time coming, but tonight, because of what we did on this date in this election at this defining moment change has come to America.” –Barack Obama, declaring victory on Election Day

Redistributing wealth: “The reason that we want to do this, change our tax code, is not because I have anything against the rich. I love rich people! I want all of you to be rich. Go for it. That’s the America dream, that’s the American way, that’s terrific. The point is, though, that — and it’s not just charity, it’s not just that I want to help the middle class and working people who are trying to get in the middle class — it’s that when we actually make sure that everybody’s got a shot — when young people can all go to college, when everybody’s got decent health care, when everybody’s got a little more money at the end of the month — then guess what? Everybody starts spending that money … and everybody is better off. All boats rise. That’s what happened in the 1990s, that’s what we need to restore. And that’s what I’m gonna do as president of the United States of America. John McCain and Sarah Palin they call this socialistic. You know I don’t know when they decided they wanted to make a virtue out of selfishness.” –Barack Obama

Bankrupting coal: “What I’ve said is that we would put a cap and trade system in place that is as aggressive, if not more aggressive, than anybody else’s out there. … So if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can; it’s just that it will bankrupt them because they’re going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that’s being emitted.” –Barack Obama in January in an interview with the San Francisco Chronicle — the Chronicle spiked this part of the interview ++ “Under my plan of a cap and trade system, electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket. Even regardless of what I say about whether coal is good or bad. Because I’m capping greenhouse gases, coal power plants, you know, natural gas, you name it — whatever the plants were, whatever the industry was, uh, they would have to retrofit their operations. That will cost money. They will pass that money on to consumers.” –Barack Obama in the same interview

We can hardly wait: “I can’t think of a time that I have been more excited at the prospect of change. … It’s issue after issue. I think we will have a better policy on Iraq. I think we will have a better policy on energy. I think we will have a better policy on immigration. I think we will have a better policy on education. I think we will have a better policy on health care. It’s a huge list.” –Sen. Chuck Schumer

Some reflections on the election

November 5, 2008

“The American electorate has handed [Barack Obama] and his fellow Democrats the kind of sweeping victory they haven’t had since at least 1976 and in certain respects since 1964. We’ll now find out if the Democratic Party has learned anything since the last two times it held all the levers of power in Washington. … The economy was by far the dominant issue, and voters held GOP Members who belonged to the party in the White House responsible. There’s some injustice in this, because if anything Democratic policies have prevailed the past two years in Washington. But neither Mr. Bush nor John McCain made that case clearly to voters. The Democratic temptation will be to interpret this victory as a mandate for renewed liberal government. Republicans hope they do. The last three times the Democrats won this kind of victory — in 1964, 1976 and 1992 — they overreached and suffered big losses two years later. … Republicans can console themselves that soon Democrats won’t have George W. Bush to kick around anymore. They’ll now have to take responsibility if the economy stays in recession, or if Iraq turns chaotic again after an abrupt U.S. withdrawal. Americans have entrusted Democrats with what will essentially be unrestrained power, and we’ll soon see if liberals have learned to govern.” —The Wall Street Journal

“Ok. It was a bad night. It wasn’t the blow-out the Democrats were hoping for, but it was plenty bad enough.” –Rich Galen

“I come to this moment of national decision with deep concerns about the next president. [Barack Obama’s] victory is likely to unleash an ideological and vengeful Democratic Congress.” –Michael Gerson

“Obama … talks less and less about bipartisanship, his calling card during his earlier messianic stage. He does not need to. [Obama now has] large Democratic majorities in both houses. And unlike Clinton in 1992, Obama is no centrist.” –Charles Krauthammer

“‘E Pluribus Unum’ is no longer our national motto. These three words are: ‘Do For Me.’ As in: What will the government do for me?” –Michelle Malkin

“Politicians have immense power to do harm to the economy. But they have very little power to do good.” –Walter Williams

“Most change in America doesn’t come from politicians. It comes from people inventing things and creating. The telephone, the telegraph, the computer, all those things didn’t come from government. Our world is going to get better and better, as long as we keep the politicians from screwing it up.” –David Boaz

“Conservatism always has been and always will be a force to reckon with because it most closely approximates the reality of the human condition, based, as it is, on the cumulative judgment and experience of a people. It is the heir, not the apostate, to the accumulated wisdom, morality and faith of the people. … Our challenge is not to retreat to the comfort of self-congratulatory exile but to sweat and bleed — and be victorious — in the arena of public opinion.” –Tony Blankley

“We should never despair, our Situation before has been unpromising and has changed for the better, so I trust, it will again. If new difficulties arise, we must only put forth new Exertions and proportion our Efforts to the exigency of the times.” –George Washington

One last shot at “Progress Now”

November 3, 2008

Obama’s mentors include Marxists Frank Marshall Davis and Saul Alinsky, Marxist terrorist William Ayers, racist Muslim hate group leader Rev. Louis Farrakhan, and racist hate group leader Rev. Jeremiah Wright.

Obama belonged to one of the nation’s most vile racist hate groups, Trinity United Church of Christ, for 20 years and says this group is not particularly controversial.

Obama is quoted in the San Francisco Chronicle as saying he will bankrupt the coal industry in America, a threat echoed by Joe Biden who says under Obama there will be no coal plants in America.

Obama says he is a citizen of the world and will personally change the entire world to reflect his core beliefs.

Obama stated in Colorado Springs that as president he would create a federal para-military police force with the same weapons as our military and with the same powers at home that our military has at war abroad.

Obama made a special video for an anti-military hate group in which he says he will personally disembowel the evil US war machine.

Obama has voted “present” hundreds of times rather than take a stand on an issue.

Obama’s political career was launched in the living room of his friend, colleague, fundraiser, and business partner Bill Ayers, an admitted terrorist.

Obama raised $75,000 for PLO terrorist Rashid Khalili.

Obama is an attorney, fundraiser and instructor for the ACORN voter fraud organization under investigation by the FBI.

Tony Rezko, Obama’s business partner, is a convicted felon who helped arrange a land deal for Obama and who raised funds for Obama.

Obama has voted time and again to strip Americans of their right to defend themselves, their families and homes from armed home invaders.

Obama has taken many millions of dollars from mysterious sources abroad and refuses to release who and what those sources are.

Obama is on video repeatedly threatening to redistribute Americans’ wealth as he sees fit.

Obama stated in the second presidential debate that he will seek permission from foreign governments before instituting his economic plan for the US.

Obama is endorsed or officially supported by:

Cuban Marxist dictator Fidel Castro

Venezuelan Marxist dictator Hugo Chavez

Libyan terrorist dictator Moammar Gadhafi

North Korean Communist dictator Kim Jung-il

The Muslim terrorist group Hamas

Muslim hate group leader Rev. Louis Farrakhan

The Muslim terrorist group al Qaeda

The Iranian Muslim terrorist regime

Kenyan genocidal strongman Raila Odinga

Fight racism. Fight bigotry. Fight hate. Defend the Constitution. Defeat fascism. Defend our military. Defend your rights. Win the war on terror. Defeat al Qaeda. Defeat all Muslim terrorism.

Valhalla, another Marine guards the streets of Heaven.

Gads… I was there. No, not a Marine, I was further west…

John Ripley dead at 59

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Retired Marine Col. John Ripley, who was credited with stopping a column of North Vietnamese tanks by blowing up a pair of bridges during the 1972 Easter Offensive of the Vietnam War, died at home at age 69, friends and relatives said Sunday.

Ripley’s son, Stephen Ripley, said his father was found at his Annapolis home Saturday after missing a speaking engagement on Friday. The son said the cause of death had not been determined but it appeared his father died in his sleep.

In a videotaped interview with the U.S. Naval Institute for its Americans at War program, Ripley said he and about 600 South Vietnamese were ordered to “hold and die” against 20,000 North Vietnamese soldiers with about 200 tanks.

“I’ll never forget that order, ‘hold and die’,” Ripley said. The only way to stop the enormous force with their tiny force was to destroy the bridge, he said.

A Colorado Voter Guide

November 2, 2008

The Colorado ballot is pretty cluttered this year compared to others that I have seen over the course of thirty years. I am using Gunny Bob’s template from radio 850 KOA . Although I disagree with him in some instances as to the “why” my recommendations are the same. I also realize that many of my Libertarian friends will disagree with me, and that’s fine. They are after all, the very same people that put forth a gun grabber as a Senate candidate. As well as the current candidate for President that helped write a law that turned Anglo American law on it’s head. ( some items were re-spelled so that Marc would have to look beyond spelling to bitch about what was posted.)

Amendment 46: Vote YES. This is an anti-racism, sexism and bigotry measure. It will outlaw the granting of preferential treatment based upon physical characteristics. In other words, it prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, gender, national origin or ethnicity.

Amendment 47: Vote YES. This proposal would protect workers from corrupt unions by making Colorado a right-to-work state by disallowing the mandating of union dues or fees as a condition of employment. In other words, it prevents a union from placing a choke hold on workers who choose not be part of a union. Unions are against this proposal, naturally.

Amendment 48: Vote YES. Planned Parenthood, the eugenics-based largest abortion mill in the world, is against this proposal, which would grant person hood status to the unborn. It would NOT outlaw abortions in any way, shape or form.

Amendment 49: Vote YES. Unions are attacking this one because it would prohibit unions from automatically seizing dues directly from paycheck if you work for the state, as if the money is theirs rather than yours.

Amendment 50: Vote YES. The nanny state is against this measure, which would give people more freedom to play gambling games and make bets they wish to make. If you want to play roulette or shoot craps or bet more in a game, what business is it of big government’s?

Amendment 51: Vote NO. This is a tax increase for another special-interest group. The developmentally disabled are already funded just fine.

Amendment 54: Vote YES. This measure would outlaw what amounts to bribery in government contract bidding with contractors making gigantic contributions in order to win contracts. This is an anti-bid-rigging proposal.

Referendum L: Vote YES. This would lower the minimum age to serve in the Colorado House or Senate from 25 to 21. If a citizen can serve in the military at 17, why not the legislature at 21?

Referendum M: VOTE YES. This is simply eliminating obsolete old laws relating to land value increases.

Referendum N: Vote YES. Ditto above but this one eliminates obsolete laws on liquor.

Referendum O: Vote NO. The people’s right to place state constitution amendment proposals on the ballot must be protected. Referendum O, if passed, will restrict that right. This is an anti-voters’-rights proposal.

Pakistani’s fight back

November 1, 2008

Pakistani’s are taking the war to the Taliban in a way that reminds me of the American Revolution. They are fed up with the strong arm tactics of those that know better than they do how to live their lives. Apparently, they are doing thios on their own. No help from the C.I.A. or anyone else.

Three cheers for these people! Freedom and liberty are all to often found on the edge of a sword, or from the muzzle of a gun. The time very well may come that Americans will need to do something along the same lines. Our very own government is becoming more, and more “Big Brother” as we enter this new century.

Another Obama crony on his way to the Big House

October 31, 2008

Government does not get much more corrupt than in Obama’s home state of Illinois. Democrat Governor Rod Blagojevich, a close ally of Obama, was elected on a promise to clean up the corruption, but how does one get rid of corruption when Democrats have control of the Illinois House, Senate and all but one statewide office?

Blagojevich is under investigation for a number of, shall we say, suspect campaign and business dealings. The most notable of these is Blagojevich’s close association with one Antonin “Tony” Rezko, who has been indicted for his part in a scheme to obtain kickbacks from the state. Blagojevich’s wife, Patricia, was a real estate business partner with Rezko for more than a decade. In Rezko’s trial, it was revealed that 75 percent of those who gave more than $25,000 to Blagojevich’s campaign received state contracts or appointments to state boards. Rezko was also indicted in January on charges of money laundering for an Iraqi billionaire, Nadhmi Auchi, whom military analysts describe as one of Saddam’s bagmen.

Rezko’s fingerprints are all over Obama’s political campaigns. He was Obama’s Chicago fundraising patriarch, a “fixer.” Rezko and his bagmen donated more than $225,000 to Obama’s campaigns.

Rezko’s fingerprints also adorn Obama’s 2005 purchase of his swanky Georgian mansion on Chicago’s south side—right down the street from where Obama’s new neighbor, terrorist William Ayers, launched Obama’s political career. (We know, given Obama’s rhetoric, he must have lived in a government housing project and commuted by mass transit.) That mansion and the adjacent lot were originally one parcel, but the owner divided it into two, and the adjacent lot was purchased by Rezko for the full $625,000 asking price—far above market value. On the same day, Obama purchased his mansion on the first lot for well under market value. One might conclude that Rezko subsidized Obama’s discount with the purchase of the adjacent lot but Rezko conveniently holds a receipt for a “loan” from his Iraqi friend, Auchi.

Who will be next? Governor Rod Blagojevich? Perhaps Mayor Daley? One can only hope!

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month

October 31, 2008

The forces of misandry have spread their doctrine of hatred like a metastatic cancer. Thoroughly trouncing the Constitution in the process. Nearly every day we hear about “abuses” at Gitmo. But, I ask, what about those same things that have been going on right here in America for years? How is it that the American people have stood by while these forces of hatred have imposed de facto sexist ex post facto law? This immoral law has been used as a stepping stone toward passing other laws that restrict, or deny rights to people based upon such trivial things as not paying parking tickets. Hence the need to once again post about this deadly threat to the American way of life.

A report put out by RADAR (Respecting Accuracy in Domestic Abuse Reporting) entitled “An Epidemic of Civil Rights Abuses: Ranking of States’ Domestic Violence Laws” ranks New Jersey’s domestic violence statute as one of the laws “most likely to violate the civil rights of persons accused of domestic violence.” Nevertheless, New Jersey’s statute is not an anomaly, as a review of the report and another RADAR report, “Perverse Incentives, False Allegations, and Forgotten Children“, reveals. Political scientist Stephen Baskerville’s online report “Family Violence in America: The Truth about Domestic Violence and Child Abuse” makes it clear that false allegations of domestic violence and the legal system that rewards them is not only a national problem, but an international one as well. His book, Taken Into Custody: The War Against Fathers, Marriage, and the Family, confirms this. Just released by Cumberland House, it cites as an example of the national problem a shocking statistic put out by the Department of Justice: “a restraining order is issued every two minutes in Massachusetts.”

Big Media probably won’t report on the problem anytime soon. It’s therefore up to bloggers, podcasters, and You Tubers to expose the due process fiasco that media silence has allowed to persist.

Read the full story here: Gitmo at Home

While that article deals primarily with New Jersey virtually every state as a mirror system that specializes in the destruction of lives based upon political correctness and misandry. Not to mention prosecutors that care little for what is right or wrong. Indeed, they only care about getting another feather for their war bonnet.

Domestic violence is a real problem. The taking of civil rights for less than felonious behavior by omnipotent government agencies is a tragedy( If not outright treason.). If these people are so evil, then why were they not tried as felons? Why turn Anglo American law on it’s head by allowing for the rules and penalties to be changed after the fact. Why allow felons to be allowed to have their rights restored, but not misdemeanor or even people convicted of infractions? This situation is about hate, power, and political correctness. Not about wife beating or any of the other red herrings that get infused into the issue.

A Day at the Range … cont.

October 31, 2008

cont. from : https://patricksperry.wordpress.com/2008/10/29/a-day-at-the-range-new-rifles/#comments

Diane’s new rifle: She is sixteen years old and recently took the Hunter Safety Course after deciding that if all the boys were out hunting that is where she wanted to be. After all, she makes a habit of showing up the boys at their own game. Her mother thinks it is more like “she wants to be around the boys…” In any case I passed some pleasantries with her mother while everyone was getting set up. I learned that Diane’s father had been killed in an accident when she was twelve, and that her mother worked as a waitress. That she had looked for an inexpensive rifle for her daughter, and that a friend had given Diane an old scope for her new rifle. It was a Burris 3 X 9, and appeared to still be in very good condition. I personally know those scopes to be among the best that are made, anywhere, at any price. Her rifle? It was a Mossberg ATR 100 chambered in 270 Winchester. Her ammunition was Remington Core-Lokt 130 grain. This, friends, is a hunting set up on the cheap. Other than the scope this is, well, to be honest, a Wal-Mart set up front to rear. Thank God these folks have friends… Jim’s Grandfather (see above story) offered to give it a once over, and they took the offer. He swabbed out the barrel removing a lot of shipping / storage gunk, and cleaned off the bolt, a tiny squirt of Rem Oil down the trigger group, and she was ready to go! Folks, after what I went through with an early production 835 I am not a big Mossberg fan, to say the least! So, what happened went Diane got to shooting? I had yet another experience in crow pie eating. I am beginning to think that I am an expert of such fare… Diane shot five strings of three rounds each. Results? The last two strings were both on the eight, and roughly three quarters of an inch… This entire set up cost less than three hundred dollars. Go figure! I have to believe that with more practice and refinement Diane will, in fact, be showing up most of the boys!
