The important thing is that YOU got the job done!!!

March 11, 2010

HB-95 was signed today by Governor Dave Freudenthal.

It should be noted it is being reported that in addition to signing HB-95, Freudenthal has sent a letter to the Legislature advising them about his reservations. At this time the Governor’s office has not made this letter public.

The important thing is that YOU got the job done!!!

If it wasn’t for you taking the time to be involved, this legislation would never have made it.

Again Congratulations!

Just say no to epic fail obamacare

Code Red, Red Alert,

OPERATION URGENT CARE

Many Blue Dogs are saying that Speaker Pelosi will have the votes before or by next Thursday and they are saying this very confidently.  The important thing to note is that as soon as Speaker Pelosi thinks she has the votes, she will immediately call for the vote on the House Floor.  That means it the vote could come as early as tomorrow, or it could be later.

Dear Fellow Tea Party Patriots,

National Coordinator Jenny Beth Martin just got off the phone with 2 reliable sources in Washington DC who have told us that the Blue Dog Democrats are caving on health care and will be voting for it.

It is up to each and every one of us to stop this health care bill.  Over 60% of Americans do NOT want this bill yet that does not matter to the Democrats in Congress.  Sen. Coburn said on Tea Party Patriots’ Hot Tea Radio program today, that current polling shows 48% of Americans want the entire health care bill scrapped and to start over.  Only 25% of Americans even want this bill, and polling shows jobs is the top priority for Americans and health care reform ranks well down the list at number six.  Yet Speaker Pelosi and the Democrat leadership in the House and the Senate are prepared to shove this bill down our throats, regardless of what the American people want.

We cannot let our liberty go without fighting for it with everything we have.  In the battle to prevent the government from taking over our health care, Tea Party Patriots across the country have left no stone unturned.  Right now we must keep the pressure up!!! The Blue Dog Democrats must feel as much pressure from the “Tea Party folks” as they are feeling from Speaker Pelosi and the Democrat House Leadership.

The absolute most effective thing that you can do is to go to the office of the Congressmen who are on the fence and still undecided on this government takeover of health care bill.  Let the Undecided Congressmen see the live faces of the people who do not want this health care bill shoved down our throats.  Make them look in your eyes.

In addition to the action items emailed late last night, we need you right now to plan an event and have car loads of people visiting the local district offices in a constant stream this week.

Here is how to do it:
  1. Check our site to see when other events are currently planned in your area to protest government take over of health care. You can see this by going to teapartypatriots.org, click on Tea Parties. Then click on your state and then click on Events.  Make a mental note of when events are currently planned.
  2. Now plan a visit to the targeted Congressmen in your state who are still undecided in their office tomorrow, Friday, over the weekend, and/or each day next week.  Plan an event that does not conflict with the time, date, and place of a currently planned event. For instance if one is planned at noon tomorrow, then plan on for 3:00 tomorrow.  We need as much constant pressure as possible.
  3. Login to teapartypatriots.org and list your event on our website. After logging in, click on My Account. Then click on Add Event.  Fill out the pertinent information.  Click Submit. We will have people approving events every couple of hours and you will get an email as soon as it is approved.
  4. Email all of your friends, family, co-workers, and neighbors an invitation to the event you are planning.  Each of us has a unique circle of influence that no one else has. Use that circle of influence to contact the people within it and tell them how important this vote is. Tell them why you are taking time away from your family, work, and other normal activities to plan an event and ask them to attend.
Create an event for it on Facebook as well.  You can do this by click logging into facebook.com. On the left hand side, click on Events. Then click Create an Event and follow the directions on the site. Once your event is created, invite your friends on Facebook to attend as well.

You can do this too. We are here to help you.   If you have never planned a tea party event before and need help you can email tppatriotssupport@gmail.com. We will have several people monitoring this email address throughout the day so that someone will reply to you in a timely manner. (Jenny Beth Martin’s email inbox is overflowing and she is not keeping up with email as well as she would like.)

Next week, we need absolutely as many people as can possibly go to DC to be in DC visiting the Congressional offices.  If you are in the Congressional office in DC, it is much more difficult for the Congressmen to ignore you and they get to see the feedback first hand rather than filter through their staff.  If it is a stretch on your budget and a sacrifice for you to make the visit, remember that that an office visit next week, will be less expensive than the increased taxes this bill cause over the next 10 years.

DOW STARTING FIVE-YEAR REVIEW OF FISHING REGULATIONS

March 11, 2010

DENVER, Colo. — The Colorado Division of Wildlife is starting its 5-year review of statewide fishing regulations and is asking anglers throughout the state to provide comments and suggestions on regulations and possible changes.

Regulation planning will be discussed throughout Colorado at “Angler Roundtable” meetings that will begin in late March. Management and research for various waters will also be discussed at the meetings. Dates and locations of those meetings are still being scheduled and will be announced later.

Aquatic biologists continually evaluate fisheries, and every five years the Colorado Wildlife Commission looks at all fishing regulations to ensure that the DOW continues to meet fisheries management objectives and recreational needs of anglers. The regulations set allowable methods of take, season dates, size requirements and bag limits. The regulations include statewide rules that apply to individual waters throughout Colorado.

Besides regulations, DOW biologists will examine biological and social data from state waters. These include fish and creel surveys, research and trend information, water quality issues, stocking activity and angler-satisfaction surveys. That information will be considered in the decision-making process for setting new regulations.

“We actively seek input from anglers during this process,” said Greg Gerlich, aquatic section manager for the DOW. “Colorado’s anglers represent a diverse group who enjoy angling for everything from trout to walleye. We enjoy hearing from anglers and also educating them on how they play a role in management and regulatory decisions.”

Every year more than 600,000 people buy fishing licenses in Colorado. The state offers a wide variety of angling opportunities. Anglers can fish at warm- and cold-water lakes and reservoirs, in numerous big rivers, and in alpine streams and lakes. Every year, fishing in Colorado generates about $1.2 billion in economic benefits.

The DOW requests that angler comments be received by the end of April.

The DOW is also asking for comments from fishing organizations, sportsmen’s groups; water resource managers including ditch companies, conservancy districts, and state and federal government agencies; land management agencies, local governments and private landowners; and businesses and communities that have an economic stake in fishing activity.

In addition to specific suggestions for individual waters, the DOW also wants to hear suggestions on statewide “big picture” issues.

“Colorado has very active associations that are concerned about specific species, such as bass, walleye and trout. We want to hear from those groups. But it’s also important for us to receive comments from individual anglers to get a balance of opinions,” Gerlich said.

After receiving input from anglers and an internal review, draft regulations will be prepared by July and presented for more public comment. The draft regulations will be sent to the wildlife commission in September for review; more public comment will be allowed at that time. New regulations will be adopted formally in November.

The Colorado Division of Wildlife is divided into four regions: northeast, northwest, southeast and southwest. Aquatic biologists in each region are responsible for maintaining waters.

Comments on regulations can be submitted to:
Dave Chadwick, statewide issues, (303)291-7174, dave.chadwick@state.co.us; Southwest Region, John Alves, (719)587-6907, john.alves@state.co.us; Northwest Region, Sherman Hebein, (970)255-6186, sherman.hebein@state.co.us; Southeast Region, Doug Krieger, (719)227-5202, doug.krieger@state.co.us; Northeast Region, Ken Kehmeier, (970)291-4350. ken.kehmeier@state.co.us.

State of the Nation: Just a quick round up

March 10, 2010

You don’t say: “I have thus far failed, and our world has thus fair failed to respond adequately to this crisis.” –Algore on his efforts to educate the world about climate change

Unsolicited advice: “I understand you may be looking to replace Rahm Emanuel as your chief of staff. I would like to humbly offer myself, yours truly, as his replacement. I will come to D.C. and clean up the mess that’s been created around you. I will work for $1 a year. I will help the Dems on Capitol Hill find their spines and I will teach them how to nonviolently beat the Republicans to a pulp. And I will help you get done what the American people sent you there to do.” –from an open letter to BO from crockumentarian Michael Moore

Useful idiot: “Every day, this elected leader is called a dictator here, and we just accept it, and accept it. … [T]ruly, there should be a bar by which one goes to prison for these kinds of lies.” –actor Sean Penn on his buddy Hugo Chavez, Venezuelan dictator (No wonder they get along so well!)

In need of remedial history: “Back in World War II, we viewed the Japanese as ‘yellow, slant-eyed dogs’ that believed in different gods. They were out to kill us because our way of living was different. We, in turn, wanted to annihilate them because they were different. Does that sound familiar, by any chance, to what’s going on today?” –actor Tom Hanks promoting his upcoming HBO miniseries “The Pacific”

Somehow not comforting: “Believe me, if we were charting this administration as a political exercise, the first thing we would have done would not have been a massive recovery act, stabilizing the banks and helping to keep the auto companies from collapsing. Those would not even be the first hundred things he would want to do.” –White House adviser David Axelrod

Delusions from a parallel universe: “Campaign promises are about getting elected; once there, they are quickly forgotten. Courage is not a word you hear very often in discussions about politics. Not Barack Obama. Whether or not you support or even understand his health care plan — and the polls suggest that right now most Americans don’t — you must admit this: Obama is a man who does everything humanly possible to keep his promises. He promised health care reform, and he is risking his presidency to deliver it. If that’s not courage, what is?” –political commentator Susan Estrich (Try blind ideology.)

Oh no! “Now that we have finally arrived at the do-or-die moment for Obama’s signature issue, we face the alarming prospect that his presidency could be toast if he doesn’t make good on a year’s worth of false starts. And it won’t even be the opposition’s fault. If too many Democrats in the House defect, health care will be dead.” –New York Times columnist Frank Rich

Propaganda FAIL: “John Patrick Bedell, whom authorities identified as the gunman in the Pentagon shooting on Thursday, appears to have been a right-wing extremist with virulent antigovernment feelings.” –Christian Science Monitor staff writer Peter Grier (Oops, Bedell was a registered Democrat and an anti-Bush 9/11 “truther.”)

Rather racist: “One, part of the undertow in the coming election is going to be President Obama’s leadership. And the Republicans will make a case and a lot of independents will buy this argument. ‘Listen he just hasn’t been, look at the health care bill. It was his number one priority. It took him forever to get it through and he had to compromise it to death.’ And a version of, ‘Listen he’s a nice person, he’s very articulate’ — this is what’s been used against him — ‘but he couldn’t sell watermelons if it, you gave him the state troopers to flag down the traffic.'” –HDNet’s Dan Rather trying to put words in Republicans’ mouths

“The more we come to rely on government, the fewer freedoms we will enjoy. Government will start dictating what we can own, eat and drive, how much of our money they will let us keep, how we run our businesses, how many — if any — guns we can own, and what we may and may not say. Oh, wait! They are already doing that. To preserve freedom we must fight for it.” –columnist Cal Thomas

“True rights, such as those in our Constitution, or those considered to be natural or human rights, exist simultaneously among people. That means exercise of a right by one person does not diminish those held by another.” –economist Walter E. Williams

“With their backs to the wall, Democratic leaders are preparing a complicated plan to pass their national health care bill. Standing in the way are Democrats who oppose the bill, whether on principle or out of fear that voting for a wildly unpopular measure will spell defeat for them in November. If you think House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is going to let them off easy, allowing them to kill the party’s top policy priority in more than a generation — well, that’s not gonna happen. Democrats who are considering voting against the bill are about to experience arm-twisting, threats, and pressure like they’ve never experienced.” –columnist Byron York

“In my entire career, I have never been as confounded as I am over President Obama and the Democratic leadership’s obsession with a piece of legislation that not one major national poll has shown to be popular. … So I have to ask, why are the president and the leaders of Congress willing to see their entire party and a multitude of other policy proposals go down in flames over something that the public can’t stand? … Folks, this is nothing more than a power grab. It’s an effort to take one of the most essential elements of every person’s life — their health — and put it under the control of government.” –columnist Matt Towery

“The president cannot show us he is looking out for our interests and our future by forcing a quick, partisan vote on an issue that will impact not only this time but generations to come. This is especially true since he was so adamant in his opposition to using this very parliamentary measure in governance during his campaign. And he cannot show us that he is listening when polls show that only 35-40 percent of Americans support this bill.” –radio talk-show host Michael Reagan

Concealed Carry Reform in Wyoming

March 9, 2010

While this is a step in the right direction it certainly does not go far enough, as was written about HERE, or HERE. Small victories are better than no victories. What really surprised me was that the pro epic fail obama Governor signed this. Along with his announcement last week that he will not be seeking reelection …

Concealed Carry Reform Becomes Law in Wyoming!

On Thursday, March 4, Governor Dave Freudenthal (D) signed Senate File 26 into law.  The bill is effective immediately.

Sponsored by State Senator Cale Case (R-25) and State Senator Eli Bebout (R-26), SF 26 will reform Wyoming’s concealed weapons permit laws regarding eligibility, reciprocity, and issuance of permits. This bill will limit the Attorney General’s ability to determine reciprocity by taking away his/her power to determine if that state has similar laws authorizing permits.

Please join us in thanking the sponsors of this bill, Senator Case and Senator Bebout, for all of their hard work and support.  Also please contact Governor Freudenthal to thank him for signing such important legislation into law. Contact information for the Governor can be found here.

Rejecting Federalism is Not Amusing

March 8, 2010

Re-posting this with permission. Perhaps the impostor in chief should have read it prior to throwing his temper tantrum today? While this directly addresses Texas it should be a concern by every American everywhere.

I wanted to share the following commentary written by Commissioner Michael Williams on the subject of federalism and renewed commitments to the 10th amendment.

It is posted online:

http://www.williamsfortexas.com/posts/49

I have also pasted the text below. Let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you,

Rejecting Federalism is Not Amusing

By Michael Williams

All across Texas citizens are calling for a renewed commitment to the 10th amendment and a reinvigorated adherence to the principle of Federalism and the doctrine of enumerated powers.

These Texans believe they were created in the image and likeness of God and endowed by Him – not Washington, not Austin — with certain inalienable rights. They believe that governmental power properly resides, first, with the people, who then grant or delegate their power, reserve it, or prohibit its exercise. They believe the Constitution assigns the federal government specific, but limited powers, and that most government functions are left to the states. They believe the doctrine of enumerated powers is the principal line of defense against an overreaching federal government and that the Bill of Rights, added two years after the Constitution was ratified, provides further protection. They believe the principal role of government is to advance the cause of individual liberty.

For them the Constitution is not just some document. And the Tenth Amendment means something. The strength of the words, “The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people” cannot be overstated. They are central to determining the legitimacy of the exercise of federal power.

At the heart of conversations around water coolers, dinner tables, blogs, Twitter, Facebook and Tea Parties is this simple question – by what authority is the federal government doing what it’s doing? What’s the basis for the out-of-control spending, the bank and auto bailouts, the proposed takeover of healthcare, the specter of new taxes, and the vast and unchecked expansion of federal power?

Some seem not to realize that federal tax dollars do not grow on trees or fall from the sky; they come from taxing the American people. But hard-working Americans are already taxed too much, are struggling to reduce their debt and balance their budgets, and are wondering when their elected leaders will force the federal government to do the same.

Telling the people that all federally funded programs can and must eternally increase in funding and size, and that we need more of them, like nationalized healthcare, is proposing an economically unsustainable course, which is the polite expression for what it really is, which is fiscal insanity.  The American people already understand this; they want politicians who understand it, too.

Casting false and malicious aspersions of racial motives on those who are decrying today’s out-of-control federal government is plainly disingenuous, and unjustifiably incendiary. Moreover, making such fallacious racial accusations—which we also hear in the attacks on the Tea Partiers—distracts from and trivializes the serious issues we need to face as a nation.

Never should we forget the sorry compromise made by the Framers that allowed slavery to exist or the invocation of “states rights” to promote its continuation and the reign of Jim Crow. But there is nothing in current efforts to revive the Tenth Amendment and the doctrine of enumerated powers that is intended to return to such inglorious times. The promise of the Civil War Amendments to ensure equal rights to all can be best realized, not in opposition to federalism, but in harmony with it.

International effort to destroy the Second Amendment

March 7, 2010

Hat tip to Military.com for posting this. I had found it some time ago, and when I went to blog about it, it had vanished. This video lays out just how much hatred for liberty and freedom people like George Soros (international felon) and Michael Bloomberg (straw purchase felon) have for America, as well as many others throughout the world. Further, if you think that they will stop with the Second Amendment, you are either terminally ignorant, or you are one of them.

Hoplophobia, there is a cure, seek help.

Chi Town Gangsters verses the Second Amendment

March 7, 2010

Yes, the MacDonald vs. Chicago case certainly has brought out the thugs that would prefer to continue to laird it over the unwashed masses. A cursory scan of the web reveals serious thoughts on the issue, as well as the state run medias hopeless hoplophobia. Take a look at what people that do suffer from mental illness have to say about all this.

Remember, this is not simply about The Second Amendment. It is about the entire Bill of Rights!

It’s the Brady bunch, the Brady bunch…

March 7, 2010

Brady’s Push On Starbucks Continues: As we reported in February, the Brady Campaign has been plumbing the depths of desperation lately.  In an attempt at maintaining its relevance, the beleaguered group has attacked Starbucks for allowing the lawful carry of firearms in its stores as provided for by state law.

As we’ve pointed out, the Brady Campaign has been quick to fabricate a “right” to feel free from fear, while angrily scoffing at the right to self-protection.  To that end, last month the group encouraged its minions to sign a petition demanding that Starbucks establish a gun policy more restrictive than state law. “I demand that Starbucks stand up for the safety of its customers and prohibit guns in your [sic] retail establishments,” the petition read.
