Hey Buffalo Bill…

January 5, 2016

Buffalo Bill Cody is probably turning over in his grave!

Tomorrow (Jan 6) in Cody WY the school board is having what they call a ‘special meeting’ that includes both school board members and state legislators about…guns in schools.

This meeting is so ‘special’ – that they decided the meeting shouldn’t be advertised to the public.

The truth is, they don’t want you to know!

You see, Park county’s anti-gun school superintendent Ray Schulte is working hard to ensure law abiding Citizens like YOU are NEVER allowed to exercise the God-given right to self defense.

And just what is Schulte pushing?

He is in support of legislation strikingly similar to Senator Hank Coe’s substitute bill that effectively derailed the repeal of gun free zones in Wyoming.

And this isn’t the first time superintendent Schulte has been on the wrong side of your right to keep and bear arms. The more that you see him in action, the more you realize he is aligned with Joe Biden, the author of gun free zone legislation.

Here’s the low down…

Schulte in his capacity as superintendent of schools in Torrington Wy —-> testified against repealing gun free zones in a Wyoming Senate committee in 2012.

It was at this moment we discovered that superintendent Schulte doesn’t even trust the citizens who submit to a full background check.

Schulte stated in open committee, “I spoke with our police chief and he told me there over two thousand permit holders right here in out district, can you imagine all of them being in the school at the same time?”

It was shortly after, that the Goshen School board had enough of Schulte…

In June of 2012 the school board voted against Schulte and one board member even stated publicly that, “the superintendent wasn’t doing a good job” and “his salary was too high.”

The Torrington headline actually read, “District Superintendent Ray Schulte does not have the full support of the Goshen County School Board.”

Sadly by the following year, the folks in Cody took him in as their new school superintendent, at an even higher salary of $150,000 a year.

It should be noted that instead of inviting the public to a meeting where the only agenda is about guns, Schulte invited several neighboring district board members – Now you know why it’s called a “special meeting.”

Please contact the following Park county school board members and let them know you are on to their scheme.

More shenanigans in Wyoming

September 11, 2015

Yesterday on your behalf, I testified at Cheyenne’s city council on the record and against an egregious scheme that will place power in a small group of politically appointed bureaucrats.

This so-called Human Rights Advisory Council measure was led by (Phony Republican) Cheyenne city councilman Dicky Shanor.

The push for these shady local councils – is modeled directly after the similarly named “United Nations Human Rights Advisory Council” – and they first started popping up in San Francisco and neighboring California communities during the mid sixties.

Today these United Nations styled Human Rights Councils span America from coast to coast. And wouldn’t you know, they all have one thing in common…the United Nation’s demand for the confiscation of guns from American citizens as a “human right” for safety.

These councils use a variation of the Delphi-Method to lobby the public as well as influence state government. By using specially picked political appointees that appear as everyday concerned citizens, they push to advance support on a host of progressive ideals, including gun control.

Cleverly this is how politicians can push an agenda — then hide behind a citizen panel, when they ask for your vote at reelection time.

Too bad for them, we’re on to them!

In Wyoming, it’s always the usual suspects like Dicky Shanor pushing the progressive envelope. These Liberal-Progressives work within the confines of the Republican party because they just can’t get elected as Democrats.

Republicans like Shanor, and a Party that refuses to hold their own accountable — is the very reason we must be so critical of the recent statewide Republican fund-raising campaign dubbed – “Grow The Party.”

It should be noted that Shanor was the prior Chairman of the Laramie Republican Party.

And it’s just as it seems, Republican ‘Elitists’ like Shanor quickly find the revolving door into Wyoming government.

It’s flat out sickening that councilman Shanor used the usual tactics to make it difficult for the public to participate in the proceedings by having the hearing at 12 noon, and to schedule the hearing in the smallest room possible with people literally lining the hallway.

All while 20 feet away, the much larger Cheyenne city council chambers were empty. You just can’t make this stuff up!

Besides being a lawyer and city council member, phony Republican Shanor also works as the Chief of Staff of another Phony Republican, Jillian Balow, Wyoming’s Superintendent of Education who testified in both the House and Senate committees against the Repeal of Gun Free Zones in Wyoming.

Like the old saying goes, “Birds of a Feather flock Together.”
Jillian Balow and Dicky Shanor

So yesterday, it came at no surprise, that Dicky Shanor was leading the charge to implement an unscrupulous Marxist government scheme.

The good news is…

On it’s initial introduction we made sure Shanor’s move met hard scrutiny from gun owners.

But here’s the warning…

While the measure was temporarily tabled in yesterdays sub-committee—->Despite the opposition, Shanor stated, in open committee, that he will rework the language and bring it before the council again.

This is why I will be keeping a close eye on every move of Cheyenne’s city council as they act to repackage and reintroduce Shanor’s United Nations scheme.

Remember, as I am at the ready to aggressively push back at Wyoming’s progressive anti-gun politicians—->where ever they may be. This will continue to be possible only because of your financial support.

If you are a regularly reader, but have not become an active supporter – please consider chipping in $10 or $20, so WyGO can remain the strong voice for gun rights in Wyoming.

Wyoming Politics: Actions have Consequences HB 114, are you listening Mike Madden?

March 3, 2015
Mr. Madden;
A vote to concur with the Senate modifications to HB 114 is a vote not only to bypass State preemption but also a return to the good old boys system that prevailed before Constitutional Carry was properly implemented in Wyoming.
Actually, I don’t have any real problems with that. Just so long as an additional amendment goes hand in hand with it. That being; That any person in any capacity of authority that implements any restrictions on the use or possession of weapons in any public place shall be charged as an accessory to any crimes, including homicide, that could or would have been prevented had those rules or regulations not been in place.
Sir, this retired Paramedic is sick of people that are mentally ill with Hoplophobia implementing Free Fire Zones that get innocent people killed, maimed, and wounded. Actions should have consequences and that includes those that fail miserably in positions of leadership.

HB-114; The first step in a long road to security and freedom

January 30, 2015
Today HB-114 repeal gun free zones passed out of Judiciary Committee 8-1 without any amendments.

Take a few seconds to cheer. Okay…that’s enough.

Today’s vote was just a small first step on a long road filled with potholes.

I watched as the Education Lobby lined up against the people’s right to self defense. They literally will do and say anything to keep their precious ‘gun free’ killing zones.

Testimony based on anti-gun feelings were kicked off by liberal-progressive Jillian Balow, the Superintendent of Public Instruction.

Balow simply used her office and salary to rob the people of their right to self defense.

The first thing that came to mind were images of Hillary Clinton’s, “it takes a village to raise a child.”

Please be watching for my future emails so you can be involved.

HB-114 could be heard for first floor reading as early as tomorrow.

If you haven’t done so already, please contact your House Representative and ask them to support HB-114-without amendments.

For Liberty,

The NRA isn’t listening and continues to push the so-called Fix NICS agenda in Wyoming!

June 24, 2014
Even though you have voiced your concerns about data sharing and said NO to the expansion of the federal background checks in Wyoming…

Even though the recent Judiciary committee heard you ‘loud and clear’ when they shut down the background check expansion legislation in May.

The NRA isn’t listening and continues to push the so-called Fix NICS agenda in Wyoming!

The 2014 NRA candidate survey is so telling of their real intentions:

The fact that this question is on their survey means that they will be pushing this agenda again — and if he’s re-elected, use their own NRA “A” rated Senator Fred Emerich, who BTW voted NO on pro-gun legislation SF-104 in 2011.

Because when it comes to the background check expansion scheme, Anti-Gun Senator Emerich is their boy!

You can bet he earns another “A” rating for it too.

This agenda to expand NICS is also being spearheaded by former NY Mayor Bloomberg’s Anti-Gun organization, touted as Fatal Gaps.

Sadly this is happening on the heels of Obama’s 11 signed Executive Orders to change — background checks, health-care privacy regulations and gun owner data sharing — into a keystroke gun registration system.

Obama’s executive order summary:
1. Require federal agencies to make relevant data available to the federal background check system. (Share all data)
2. Address unnecessary legal barriers particularly relating to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, that may prevent states from making information available to the background check system. (Privacy)
3. Improve incentives for states to share information with the background check system. (Bribes to the states)
4. Propose rule-making to give law enforcement the ability to run a full background check on an individual before returning a seized gun. (Even on a  simple traffic stop)
5. Publish a letter from ATF to federally licensed gun dealers providing guidance on how to run background checks for private sellers. (Preparing for regulations on private sales)
6. Clarify that the Affordable Care Act does not prohibit doctors asking their patients about guns in their homes. (This information was once private, it will now go on your permanent record)
7. Release a letter to health care providers clarifying that no federal law prohibits them from reporting threats of violence to law enforcement authorities. (Doctor patient confidentiality gone)
8. Release a letter to state health officials clarifying the scope of mental health services that Medicaid plans must cover. (Details to record gun owners)
9. Finalize regulations clarifying essential health benefits and parity requirements within Obamacare exchanges. (More gun owner  regulations underwritten in the details)
10. Commit to finalizing mental health parity regulations. (etc.)
11. Launch a national dialogue on mental health. (etc.)

By contrast WyGO’s 2014 candidate survey asks these questions relating to Brady and private sales:

The NRA isn’t working for gun owners in Wyoming and instead is using their  $300 million to work for the wrong team!

And the NRA’s actions?

In 2011 when WyGO was on the ground pushing Constitutional Carry at the legislature, the NRA was completly absent from the fight.

In 2012 the NRA actually provided a draft to the Wyoming Security Commission expanding gun free zones in every county building in Wyoming.

In 2014 the NRA didn’t even make a peep on HB-119, legislation that would have repealed gun free zones in Wyoming.

Later in 2014 the NRA flew in field Rep. Dakota Moore to support background check expansion, while WyGO was expending an incredible amount of WyGO member resources in direct mail to kill this dangerous legislation.

The NRA’s record in wyoming shows they have put their money to work just helping Obama’s keystroke registration scheme!

Please contact Wayne LaPierre at (800) 672-3888  and tell him how you feel!

And if you haven’t done so please throw your financial support to Wyoming’s ONLY ‘boots on the ground’ gun rights organization in the state.

Executive Director
Wyoming Gun Owners

P.S. The NRA is working to promote Obama’s background expansion/Registration scheme.

The NRA 2014 candidate survey has revealed that they will continue to push their so-called FixNICS campaign using the money taken from their members, under the premise they will fight against gun control.

Please get involved today by financially supporting the only ‘boots on the ground’ gun rights organization in Wyoming — with a generous contribution of whatever you can afford.

Representative Tom Lubnau (R-Gillette) Speaks with forked tongue

February 20, 2012

In an interview on Glenn Woods radio show (AM1270 in Gillette) Representative Tom Lubnau (R-Gillette) stated that HB-60 preemption reform legislationwas a “crazy gun bill”.

Of course Lubnau says he didn’t shoot down the bill –Reality Check– the bill failed 2 votes shy of the 2/3rds majority – 38-21. And YES Lubnau was a no vote!

Click here to listen Glenn Woods AM1270 — Tom Lubnau

In a stupendous reach he also said- “I’m not going to place police officers in jeopardy of being fired for going up to a suicidal person and saying, ‘Why don’t you put that gun down’”.

Using scare tactics regularly echoed by the gun control crowd, Lubnau has now reached a new plateau as he untruthfully suggested that all common sense would be thrown out the window if this bill advanced.

HB-60 is virtually identical to a bill that was signed into law by Florida’s governor — putting an end to three decades of local government crushing the citizen’s right to keep and bear arms.

Incredibly during his interview Lubnau also defended his “so-called” pro-gun position while adding he is in Cheyenne to read the bills. But don’t be fooled!

Because soon afterwards, the “Republican Floor Leader” slithered back to his previous mode of operation.

Here it comes. Wait for it…

The “Republican” floor leader is now supporting one of the largest expansions of gun free zones in Wyoming.

HB-70 a bill that is disguised as a court security measure — when in fact it specifies a change to current statute making “All COUNTY BUILDINGS containing a district or circuit court” a gun free zone or better named “criminal safe zone”.

This legislation will relocate the “secured area” of the court room to the “front door of the county building”. Please forgive me for being redundant…If HB-70 passes it will be one of the largest expansions of gun free zones in Wyoming ever witnessed.

So much for Tom Lubnau “reading the bills in our best interest” and being (in his own words) an “ardent supporter of your gun rights” — Since he now is advancing legislation that goes hand in hand with a proposal by anti-gun Gillette Mayor who wants a similar gun ban on all city property.

By the way, when I confronted anti-gun Mayor Tom Murphy about his gun ban, he responded by boiling over and sticking his finger in my face.

It appears that Lubnau is working for his local government officials in “Gillette” instead of defending the rights of the voters that elected him to office.

Wyoming Gun Owners is the ONLY gun rights organization working at this level — Exposing anti-gun politicians, lobbying to pass pro gun legislation and working to stop all gun control in Wyoming.

I stand by my statement — Representative Tom Lubnau the “Republican floor leader” should step down and let someone else take the helm.

Yet another politician wants to change our state into a Free Fire Zone for criminals! His stated reasons, are as usual, illogical and based upon some distorted sense of political correctness. We, the people of Wyoming need better from our leaders. Think about it folks. The gang bangers are not just in Cheyenne where there is a tremendous amount of law enforcement. They have spread out all across our state, and it is only a matter of time before something disastrous happens.

Courts only..? Just how long will that last? Not to mention that the man literally insults the intelligence of our Police Officers. Even a dumb Paramedic like me knows better than to just walk up to a suicidal person with a gun… Blue suicide..? The steps leading up to the Courthouse work just as well for that.

Will the next Columbine or Virginia State happen here? Don’t think for one second that this will remain only a Court building thing. If so will only the criminals be lawfully armed until the Police arrive? Two or three minutes is a VERY long time when some misfit is armed with a full auto weapon that is practicing the spray and pray method of marksmanship.

We, the people of Wyoming need to hold our leaders feet to the fire whenever they practice the politics of political correctness, and I call upon every single member of  Mr. Lubnau’s district to give him an earful over this. Then, come next election cycle, send him back home and remind him about why he is there at home at every opportunity!

GOP RINO’s attack: Truth in politicing?

October 29, 2010

Seems that there are some behind the scenes activity going on in Wyoming politics. As usual, the mainstream GOP is attempting to co-op TEA Party people, and calling members of the movement out of touch, radicals, and all the usual garbage.

There are a number of letters circulating on the Internet telling people to Google Matt Mead — guns. When they do they are led to several websites (more than one of them designed by the same person giving the impression that there is a whole body of “evidence” regarding Matt’s position on gun control, when in fact just one person is pushing his own agenda). These phony sites are putting out erroneous information concerning Matt Mead’s record on gun issues.

Really? Have you bothered to notice all the comments? Or the fact that this blog certainly isn’t ran by that person?

A California transplant moved to Wyoming and started a blog about gun rights and gun issues. He published that Matt Mead was anti-gun and supported the BATF in lawsuits against Wyoming and Wyoming gun laws. These statements are not true and when confronted, said blogger refused to meet with Matt to correct his misrepresentations.

Sorry, but the facts are otherwise. Not to mention that he uses a website, not a blog… I’m also a California transplant just to let you know. I left there in 1978 because of the stupid anti freedom things that were going on. Now people are trying to pull the same sorts of insanity here..?

Matt Mead is a member of the NRA and has an A rating from them. He has not favored/does not favor gun control. People need to remember that the Internet is a tool which can be a very good source of information, but some who have an agenda can also use it to spread misinformation. Wyoming has seen its share of “dirty politics” but deliberate untruths which seek to malign a person’s character or present false information about him should be rejected.

One of Matt mead’s big campaign points is that he will stand up for Wyoming: FACT; He went after Wyoming as a U.S. Attorney. Just doing his job? Alright, I can understand that. That’s also what those folks said at Nuremberg, and things didn’t work out so well for them. Rightfully so I might add. So what if the NRA gave him a favorable rating? They gave favorable ratings to a lot of people that the membership, such as myself, deplore.

I have found Matt Mead to be very approachable and willing to sit down and rationally discuss any topic. I am certain that Matt will protect your Second Amendment rights as well as other constitutional rights and will be a good governor for Wyoming.

He may be, but if past behavior is any indicator of future actions then the people of Wyoming need to think long and hard about electing a RINO. Not that there is much out there to be had other than the lessor of evils, yet again.

Matt Mead: A clone of John McCain..?

August 31, 2010

The Republican nominee for Governor in Wyoming appears to be just another Republican in Name only. What the hell do we need that for?

CHEYENNE — Sen. John McCain says he is a supporter of the second amendment and proudly wears his endorsement by the NRA, even though he clearly joined gun grabber and Brady poster boy Mayor Bloomberg. You see, McCain was involved in a multi-state campaign against gun shows in an attempt to pass legislation he couldn’t get passed in his own state of Arizona.

Sadly and similarly Mead advertised he was a lifetime NRA member and gun collector and when questioned about fighting on the side of the feds in “BATF vs. Wyoming”, Mead shrugged it off as questionable information by “some blogger that refused to speak with him”. The truth is this is the first documented lie in his campaign.

As the Director of Wyoming Gun Owners I spoke with him not just once but two times. And so you know, Mead told me “he was just doing his job”. Certainly Mead wanted this withheld from the campaign trail and said anything but the truth to cover it up, so much for “integrity”.

When it comes to spending, Senator John McCain has out spent his rival spending more than $20 Million, that’s six times more than his opponent.

Again, similarly here in Wyoming Matt Mead spent a record amount of his money, a whopping 81% (that’s about $900,000) of his reported campaign finance came out of his own pocket. How do you spell D.C. style politics?

There are other similarities between Mead and McCain including statements that are designed to communicate to a more conservative base, even though past history reveals they were personally committed to a more liberal base.

Although widely unreported this moderate stance of Matt Mead is even more evident in how he was elected to office. There was an estimated “switch-voting” of up to nine thousand votes. In case you don’t know what this is, it is where Democrats changed their party affiliation at the polls so they could vote for the most liberal Republican candidate, in this case Matt Mead was the beneficiary. A Liberal state employee blogger mentions it here in – At the polls, Democrats are switching over in large numbers.

Another fact, the newspaper that endorsed Barack Obama went out of their way to stump for Matt Mead and after the elections many Democrat voters echoed the Casper Star Tribune endorsement saying, Mead would be most like Freudenthal.

Did I mention Obama-Care is now even closer?

I’m going to end with this, if the people of Wyoming want so much to keep Freudenthal and his policy of licking the boots of the federal government, why didn’t they suggest removing his term limits? I’m just saying….

Uniting in Wyoming..?

August 22, 2010

Already we are hearing about Republicans uniting behind Matt Mead for the Governorship in November. While he most certainly is better than his Democrat opponent Wyomingites need to remember that Matt Mead has some pretty serious flaws.

Mister Mead is anything but a supporter of limited government, or states rights. Those are two very big issues here in the Cowboy State. His positions regarding gun control are abominable, and no, his NRA membership and rating mean very little.

I have to wonder what Matt Mead’s positions, as a former U. S. Attorney are on things like Ex Post Facto Law, and unfunded mandates from the Federal Government? On economic sustainability as opposed to federal handouts? On taxation in general?

Ron Micheli: Never quit, never surrender!

August 18, 2010

Well folks guess what? Even in Wyoming, yes, Wyoming! Political correctness reached out like a Copperhead… That, and the basic political machinery of our nation… There is a reason that I joined the Libertarian Party back in 1980… We need to break the back of the two party system. It is that simple folks. Sure, reform the Republicans, or even the Democrats. I don’t give a hoot what you call it…

I used to say that once in power that there was not a dimes worth of difference between the two parties. Guess what folks? I was wrong. (Typed / said with a stutter ala “The Fonz.”) I bitched at the Republicans spending like not just drunken, but stoned sailors… No, it’s not a dimes worth, it is in the trillions of dollars!

And, not to mention: While the Republicans threatened to use the Constitution as toilet paper? The Democrats have. At least the Bill of Rights!

Then, we have what happened in Wyoming, of all places..?

Keep your chin up, and hold your head high Ron. You fought the good fight.
