In case you missed it, Piers Morgan called GOA Executive Director Pratt and his Second Amendment friends “idiots” on Tuesday night.
Yes, Piers thinks you’re an idiot.
But Pratt ruffled Piers’ feathers by shooting back, telling him that “Brits like him” just don’t like listening to facts.
Well, Gun Owners of America has been out front defending your gun rights and has appeared on scores of media outlets all across the country — and even across the world. Some of the notable highlights include:
* GOA’s Larry Pratt on Piers Morgan on Tuesday night
*Director of Communications Erich Pratt in US News & World Report
* And Larry Pratt again with the opposing view piece for USA Today on Monday.
Make no mistake about it! We are in the fight of our lives.
Barack Obama has made it his central priority to destroy us. And he and his anti-gun allies have billions of dollars of support from the TV, print, and cable media.
Obama will start out trying to ban semi-automatics, magazines and gun shows. But make no mistake about it. Obama’s initial efforts to crush us will just be the first step to making the entire country a replica of Chicago -– complete with across-the-board gun bans and defenseless citizens.
Julian Epstein, an MSNBC commentator, candidly revealed that the point of Obama’s campaign was not any particular piece of legislation, but rather to “break the back” of the gun lobby.
You can be sure of this: The battle against Obama and his anti-gun stooges will be the biggest fight of our lives.
Already, Gun Owners of America has been the most prominent spokesman for the Second Amendment in the wake of the horrific Newtown tragedy.
Roll Call, the newspaper of record on Capitol Hill, remarked that, in the immediate aftermath of the shooting, “the reaction from one gun rights group [GOA] stood out.”
The liberal Huffington Post trumpeted: “Gun Owners of America steals Newtown gun debate while NRA hides.” It went on to say that “[w]hat is surprising is that [GOA Executive Director] Pratt is the only gun lobby representative willing to discuss his beliefs in public in the days after the Connecticut massacre.”
GOA has virtually been a solitary voice giving interviews all over the country –- and the world -– on behalf of gun rights and the Second Amendment.
Please stand with us so that we can continue fighting against the anti-gun onslaught.
As much as anyone, we deplore the efforts of anti-gun zealots to exploit this tragedy for political gain. But if we hide in fear, we will have lost the debate and the legislative battle before even coming onto the battlefield.
We cannot let that happen.
This has not been without cost. We have received death threats against us and our children, and hundreds of profanity-laced emails. One writer said he wished our own children had died at Sandy Hook. Another said he wished that all our GOA members would “just put a gun to their heads and pull the trigger.”
But, when you stand up to sick-minded opportunistic people –- as we have –- you can expect their true colors to show through.
We hope our members are proud of us. As our legislative counsel told one liberal reporter: “I think a lot of people who see and hear us fighting, at a time when [gun control advocates] are ready for battle, they’ll remember it.”
So we need your help to keep fighting.
And we need you to fight alongside us.

From far and wide it seems that all we hear is the hue and cry about how to fix the economy. I read about how we should be “fair” about taxing the “rich.”
That’s all fine and good if you are simply stuck on stupid. Think about it people. Who pays the lions share already when it comes to taxes? The upper middle class and the truly wealthy, that’s who. If everyone paid taxes at the same rate, yes, even welfare recipients, there would be no budget crisis. In fact though, taxes would probably drop to levels unheard of in modern times. Even on those of us that really are much better off than the rest of us.
But no, we would rather sit around and play the class warfare game. Answer me this socialist pundits. When was the last time that a poor person gave you a job? Any job, even a poor paying job? It’s called trickle down, or yes, up, economics. The system works, and yes, it is part and parcel of free market economic models. Before the lefty’s jump all over me about how we got into this mess through free market policies just remember that there has never, in all history been a true full economic system. From the Soviet Unions official Black Market to the unofficial black market there was a degree of capitalism at work there. Here in the United States we have onerous regulation that destroys most of what would be described as a free market. Leftest lawmakers dabbled in the free market, and guess what happened? You are living through it! Not to mention that we do indeed have a black market at work here as well. Drugs, weapons, and even tobacco products thrive in the era of taxation beyond the pale.
So what do we do? Turning over our own responsibilities to a bunch of elected officials that really are clueless is not the answer. Revolution, while quite attractive to many, would take generations to achieve the standard of living that we now enjoy to be achieved once again. Compromise, when addressing ones deepest held values is no virtue. In a nation so diverse as The United States those values may indeed be just as diverse. How do we address that Pandora’s box?
I submit that we should look to our own history for the answers to this all. Restore the original intent of The Declaration of Independence, The Constitution, and The Bill of Rights.
Here are just a few things that would get us headed back on the road to prosperity.
- Reign in The Supreme Court. Rulings that serve only the interests of government and cronies have destroyed the actual owning of private property. The taking of civil rights for much less than true mental deficiency or felonious behaviors. Forcing the purchase of anything that is a private product that does not involve the safety of others are just a few examples.
- End the drug war, period. All drugs, period. We could still have purity and efficiency laws for medicinals. Plus we would not be party to making thugs and murderers into millionaires. There will always be alcoholics and drug abusers and gangsters will always find some vehicle of prey but we will not be enablers to that on a national scale.
- Develop a system whereby elected officials are subject to a performance evaluation that is more than simply winning an election.
- End the barriers to new political persuasions entering the market of ideas. The Republicans and Democrats have had a free ride for way to long and have done little for anyone but themselves. As in the politicians themselves. Just look at how the Democrat Party has used and abused people of color, and how the Republicans have done the same to the working man.
- Overhaul the education system here from top to bottom. I should not even begin to have to go into that issue!
- Community Service: All people, unless gravely disabled, should be required to have spent some time in service to the nation. Be that as a volunteer in EMS, Firefighting, or Armed Forces or Police work. All persons I should reemphasize, no getting out of it because you are the son or daughter of a Senator such as happened all to often during the draft. I myself would like to see a two year mandatory period of service in the armed forces. Right out of High school, no deferments, no straight into any Officers program that includes basic training in Infantry skills. The national bonus to that is obvious. But that is just me.
I am sure that many will argue against what I just offered. Feel free to defend your positions. But, being a Marine Corps Brat, you had better have a better alternative to offer, and not just say that you don’t like this or that.
Keep the shiny side up!

Seems that the top jurist’s in Egypt have figured out what so many of us knew as the so called Arab Spring unfolded before the world. Nothing but a takeover by radical muslims in the guise of some sort of democracy, and epic fail obama even tried to make us all believe that this would be a good thing. Talk about a sales pitch that would make snake oil marketers proud!
Then we have this; Chris Brown still being hammered over his row with Rhianna. Didn’t he do enough time? Didn’t he go through all the counseling, and pay the fines? Why is this big news ? Why bother with it at all? From all accounts they have resolved their issues. Let them both go on with their lives without others telling them how to live those lives or castigating either one for how they go about it?
Two deaths of note, or better said that made the news. Hector Camacho took a dirt bath after taking a bullet in the face. Damn! He was one hell of a boxer! Even if he was one of the sweet sciences bad boys. Larry Hagman, the man everyone loved to hate every week on Dallas passed away after a terrible battle with cancer. Rest in peace men.
Then there has been the weather. From “Super Storm Sandy” to the latest cold front and attendant storm that chased me from Seattle to just outside of Chicago the idiots are all calling it a result of man made global warming. In Wyoming, we call it winter and never mind that scientific fact that we are emerging from the “Little Ice Age.”
The absolute joke of the week, as usual, involve the epic failure known as the obama. Yes, we knew this would happen. The election is being hailed as an overwhelming victory and mandate. Sorry folks, but it simply was not. He barely won. We lost, but not by much, and we have only ourselves to blame for running yet another half-assed conservative instead of a real non compromiser that loves the nation as well as the Constitution and Bill of Rights.
On to better things! Those that roll there own check out Magnum Pistol 300! Talk about some serious bang!
Keep the shiny side up…

Senator Jon Tester (D-MT) — who is “F” rated by Gun Owners of America — is pushing a “hunting” bill that authorizes the Obama administration almost unlimited power to seize private lands for “environmental” purposes.
Anti-gun Majority Leader Harry Reid has scheduled Tester’s bill for a vote, and it will probably take place on Thursday.
BACKGROUND
(1) When the “wetlands” provisions of the Clean Water Act were originally enacted, no one could have foreseen that a landowner would go to prison for applying clean dirt to a junkyard adjacent to a sewer, which was determined to be “wetlands.” But environmentalists have been brilliant in taking seemingly innocuous programs and massively expanding them through fraudulent interpretations or tiny loopholes.
(2) S. 3525 has “sweeteners.” It allows archery bows to be transported through national parks under very limited circumstances, although Obama could do this by administrative fiat. It also allows, but does not mandate, Pittman-Robertson funds to be used for target ranges. But none of these small discretionary provisions offset the potential damage this does to the rights of individual landowners.
(3) THE ISSUE OF LOST OPPORTUNITY: If this is the Democrats’ sop to gun owners, it may make it a lot more difficult to secure national concealed carry reciprocity or to stop anti-gun measures and treaties.
THE CENTRAL PROBLEM WITH S. 3525
The central problem with the bill is that it allows seizure of private lands for “aquatic habitats” [Sections 201(8) and 204 (d) (2)]. The definition of this term is limitless and includes seizure of lands in order to “protec[t] the quality and quantity of water sources” and to “serv[e] as a buffer protecting the aquatic environment.” [Section 201 (2)]
Thus, a factory that “pollutes” can be seized to protect an “aquatic habitat.” The only real limit on seizure in Section 204 is the requirement that the government manage the seized property “in accordance with the purposes of this subtitle.”
WHO ARE THE DECISION MAKERS?
The National Fish Habitat Board consists of 27 members. The initial members (Obama appointees) select the remaining members. Thus while the “commercial fishing industry” supposedly has a representative, you can bet that that fisherman is an Obama-supporter and will support his agenda.
The board then enters into “partnerships” with, inter alia, outside groups. And you can bet that every liberal environmental organization in the country will now be feeding at this pig sty. The outside groups recommend fish habitat programs and plans for seizing private lands.
Bottom line: This will give immense powers to unelected bureaucrats — a clear violation of the Separation of Powers which our Founders implemented as a way of protecting our rights.
WHAT ABOUT SECTION 211 (e) (2)?
This supposedly requires the consent of landowners prior to having their lands seized. But, note the sneaky loophole: Section 211 (e) (2) applies only to property that is being seized with federal funds and, under Section 204 (e), half the funds need to come from non-federal sources.
So while this section is put forward as a “protection,” it actually doesn’t provide total immunity because the government can take a land owner’s property using non-federal funds — and there is no protection in the bill against that.

Better late than never I guess.

Gun Owners of America |
In wake of Election Day:
Multiple challenges & opportunities lay ahead for our gun rights
“I want to thank Gun Owners of America for coming into my district twice. Their involvement helped educate gun owners as to who the real pro-gun candidate was in this very close race.” — Rep.-elect Keith Rothfus (R-PA)
There is no doubt. Gun rights will come under attack in the next four years.
The President who said that he was pursuing gun control proposals “under the radar” during his first term can now come out of the closet. Just as Barack Obama told outgoing Russian President Dmitry Medvedev that he would have more “flexibility” after the election, we can expect an emboldened White House to pursue a UN gun control treaty … more gun owner registration … more Executive Orders designed to limit our rights … more anti-gun Supreme Court Justices, etc.
Sadly, Harry Reid is going to remain the Majority Leader of the Senate. We realized that it was an uphill battle to take the gavel out of Reid’s hands, but it was an important fight if we were going to stop the onslaught of future anti-gun judicial picks. And while we lost some heartbreaking races, there are some things to cheer about.
First, we did get three new pro-gun Senators elected: Ted Cruz in Texas, Deb Fischer in Nebraska and Jeff Flake in Arizona. The Cruz race in Texas was especially contentious during the primary, and GOA got involved early to help push Cruz over the finish line.
While many other pro-gun Senators also retained their seats, gun owners will find several new friendly faces in the House:
* Steve Stockman, who was perhaps the most aggressively pro-gun Representative in the 1990s, will return to Congress with a 70% mandate from his Texas district. Even if you don’t live in the Lone Star State, Steve Stockman will represent you by fiercely fighting for your Second Amendment rights. GOA helped push Stockman, who was an underdog in his primary, over the hump in July. His victory yesterday may well be the number one pick-up for gun rights in this election.
* Another key victory for gun owners is Keith Rothfus, who knocked off a “Blue Dog” compromiser in western Pennsylvania. There was tremendous confusion in this race since another gun group had endorsed his opponent. So GOA made multiple trips into the district to help gun owners see that Rothfus was the real pro-gun candidate in the contest. Happily, Rothfus will be joining the new freshmen class in January.
* In addition to Rothfus in Pennsylvania, GOA helped make distinctions in several other races — between real, pro-gun candidates and those who merely feign support for gun rights. Notable examples of “Blue Dog” compromisers who lost their jobs occurred in North Carolina and Kentucky, where Richard Hudson and Andy Barr emerged victorious.
* GOA also heavily backed Jackie Walorski in Indiana. As a state representative, she was a fierce defender of individual liberty and was even willing to take on members of her own party in defense of the Constitution. She will be a welcome addition in this next Congress.
* While gun owners lost a squeaker in the Montana Senate, the pro-gun Steve Daines won the open House seat. He replaces Denny Rehberg who failed narrowly to unseat “F” rated Senator Jon Tester (D).
* GOA also helped “A” rated Tom Cotton win a very contentious primary in the 4 th District of Arkansas. He went on to thump his opponent in the general election last night, collecting almost 60% of the vote.
* Across the nation, Gun Owners of America was able to assist several freshman Congressmen who were on the “endangered list.” Examples include Reps. Justin Amash of Michigan and Steve Southerland in Florida who are both “A” rated by GOA.
While the challenges are obvious, GOA will continue to fight for your gun rights in this next Congress.
By using guerilla-style tactics, GOA was actually able to work with Congressmen to REPEAL gun control laws like the Amtrak and National Parks bans during the Obama administration. No, Obama didn’t support these repeals, but we were able to get these repeals inserted into “must pass” bills which Obama couldn’t afford to veto.
This is the type of political warfare that we will be fighting for the next four years. And now, we have fresh troops reporting for duty in January who are ready and willing to fight.
So the election was not a total loss. Despite the majority of the people in America being solidly in the stuck on stupid camp.

Stolen from my friend and fellow conservative blogger. Fred expresses my own sentiments quite well.
Joe Biden was argumentative, rude, he interrupted, he was a disruptive force and he had an ally in Martha Raddatz.
Joe Biden came off as an oafish ass, in other words, Barack Hussein Obama got his wish, Joe was just being Joe.
Joe Biden had NO real argument, nothing that made sense, so he ranted and laughed a lot, he came off as highly unprofessional and NOT as someone that would make you feel the least bit confident if he were to have to take up the mantle of President.
Paul Ryan was trying very hard to use facts and figures but he was allowing Joe Biden to interrupt. Ryan was interrupted and challenged by Martha Raddatz on several occasions and he was far too polite for MY taste.
BUT … Ryan was far more professional, and gave a fine showing of himself.
It was VERY obvious, at least to me, that Martha Raddatz was a *partner* for Biden, a tag-team partner on several occasions. When Ryan was making a telling point Raddatz would interrupt, question Ryan herself, actually challenge him or change the topic and move back to Biden.
Much was made about Raddatz and her Obama Connection and many had hoped that she could put that aside and assume at least some degree of journalistic integrity.
That was NOT to be the case.
To Ryan’s credit, he didn’t get into any heated exchanges with Joe Biden, maybe this was running through his mind: If a wise man contends with a foolish man, whether the fool rages or laughs, there is no peace. Proverbs 29:9
I heard one of the FOX talking heads say that this debate was not terribly important because no one ever votes based on who the #2 was on the ticket.
THAT is pure BULLSHIT!
I know quite a few people that claimed they didn’t vote for McCain in ’08, they said their vote was for Palin, and that is the most STUPID thing they could have EVER said.
Not to be bashing Palin, but to vote for a particular candidate because you don’t like him but you love his running mate? Seriously?
If McCain has won HE would be POTUS and Sarah Palin would have been the Joe Biden of McCain’s administration, the Palin GAFFE machine.
OK, so I bashed her a little.
I don’t believe Paul Ryan WON the election for Mitt Romney; it will take Romney totally eviscerating Obama in the next 2 debates to make that happen.
I also don’t believe Biden did Obama any real favors. The VP Debate was a chance to see what the #2 guy was made of, and frankly, I liked what I saw in Paul Ryan a lot more than ANYTHING I saw from Joe Biden.

Sometimes things just sit around under our noses until we eventually notice them. Now, in the case of the pointy eared alien that currently occupies the White House, pun intended, it is becoming an almost weekly thing for some new outrage to become common knowledge.
Read about this one HERE.
Vote for obama if you are simply stuck on stupid, or you really do like being lied to.

October 5, 2012
The 2012 elections have now entered the homestretch. The candidate debates are ramping up, and politicians all over the country are blanketing the airwaves with lies about their legislative records.
It’s not a new problem. Remember the now-infamous quote from presidential hopeful Kerry about the
Iraq War: “I actually did vote for the $87 billion before I voted against it.”
Rarely has a politician exposed himself more shamefully than the Massachusetts Democrat did back in 2003. Of course, everyone knows that most politicians do what Kerry did — they are just a lot better in disguising their duplicity.
Consider a recent letter from Democrat Senator
Claire McCaskill of Missouri to a GOA activist who is a constituent in her state. Asked whether she would support this pro-gun legislation to allow gun owners to carry their guns across the country, McCaskill said:
“I strongly support legal and safe gun ownership by law-abiding citizens and have consistently voted to uphold this constitutional right. For example, in the 111th Congress, I voted to … require the National Park Service to honor state gun laws when gun owners enter
National Parks in their states.”
Did this Senator — who is F-rated by GOA — really vote to repeal the National Parks gun ban? Hardly. You see, this is where McCaskill pulls a “
John Kerry,” essentially saying: “I supported gun rights before I opposed them.”
When the repeal of this gun ban came before her, McCaskill opposed it — voting against a stand-alone amendment to repeal the National Parks gun ban which was added to a credit card “reform” bill. (Senate Roll Call #188, May 12, 2009.)
Later on, she supported the underlying credit card bill so, presumably, Sen. McCaskill must think this allows her to say she helped repeal the National Parks gun ban — even though she voted against it when it was a stand-alone amendment.
In other words, she supported the National Parks gun ban before she “opposed” it.
Considering politicians’ tendency to obfuscate, how is a gun owner to know where his member of Congress
really stands on the
Second Amendment? To be honest, it’s a full-time job tracking down the voting records of all the candidates.
And this is why Gun Owners of America surveys all the candidates for Congress. It’s why we rate Congressmen, not on what they say, but on how they vote. It’s why we try to put a Candidate Rating into as many gun owners’ hands as we can prior to the election.
Print out your state. Copy it. Distribute it around.
Email it to all your pro-gun family and friends.
GOA is committed to helping millions of gun owners around the country make informed choices when they go to the polls this fall. Because when it comes to our Second Amendment rights, you can’t just go on what the politicians are telling you!
Upcoming guests include:
- Cody Wilson, the University of Texas student who was going to use a 3-D printer to create a gun, will appear on GOA Radio Live this coming Tuesday, October 9, to discuss his upcoming plans now that the company which had leased him the 3-D printer reclaimed it unexpectedly over concerns that it would be used for “illegal purposes.”
- Gary Kleck, criminologist and author of the groundbreaking study on self-defense with guns, will be discussing new gun-related research that he’s been conducting. Tune in on Thursday, October 11 to hear him.

Some thoughts on the epic failure known as obama, his regime, and his core beliefs.
The increased dependence of the individual upon government which inflation produces and the demand for move government action to which this leads may for the socialist be an argument in its favor. Those who wish to preserve freedom should recognize, however, that inflation is probably the most important single factor in that vicious circle wherein one kind of government action makes more and more government control necessary. For this reason, all those who wish to stop the drift toward increasing government control should concentrate their efforts on monetary policy. There is perhaps nothing more disheartening than the fact that there are still so many intelligent and informed people who in most other respects will defend freedom and yet are induced by the immediate benefits of an expansionist policy to support what, in the long run, must destroy the foundations of a free society.
