Animal Control: Gray Panthers cause Swat Team call out!

April 29, 2010

This is really a difficult post to categorize… Seems that a group of oldsters went to voice their opinions to the impostor in chief. Then, the Secret Service, apparently detecting a threat to their beloved had the local SWAT TEAM called out because these graying old folks had the audacity of hoping (pun intended) to sing in the “one’s” august presence…

I have to wonder though, having personally known more than a few members of SWAT TEAMS… If the Secret Service would have ordered them into action? I have a deep feeling that the team would have gone after the Feds rather than the Grandmothers…

Rachael Maddow: Hopeless Hoplophobe

April 28, 2010

“After months of hysterically warning viewers that cheerful, well-dressed tea partiers carrying ‘I Can See November From My House’ signs could suddenly erupt into wanton violence, MSNBC finally had proof: Timothy McVeigh. … On her April 14 show, [Rachel] Maddow gave a ‘War of the Worlds’ report on gun rights activists whom she claimed were planning tributes to Timothy McVeigh’s bombing of a federal building in Oklahoma City. ‘On the anniversary of the bombing of the federal building in Oklahoma City by Timothy McVeigh,’ she said, ‘there will be two marches on Washington.’ After reminding viewers that McVeigh was ‘an anti-government extremist with ties to the militia movement’ (his only ‘ties’ being that he tried to join the Michigan Militia, but was rejected) Maddow said one of the groups, the Second Amendment March, had ‘been holding armed rallies at state capitols from Kentucky to Montana to Virginia — anti-government marches and rallies at which participants are encouraged to wear and display their guns.’ So if I have this straight, the pro-Second Amendment marchers were both armed … AND displaying guns! Having received an ‘A plus’ from the Department of Redundancy Department, a deadly earnest Maddow continued: ‘Also on the occasion of the Oklahoma City bombing anniversary,’ there would be an Open Carry rally. Participants, she said, ‘are being encouraged to bring guns’ (you know, just like the guns Timothy McVeigh used to shoot up the federal building in Oklahoma City). True, April 19 is the anniversary of the Oklahoma City bombing. It’s also the anniversary of Lexington and Concord. Once upon a time, the skirmish that sparked the Revolutionary War was a date that every schoolchild knew. When British soldiers moved to seize the gunpowder and arms of voluntary militias, armed citizens defended themselves, firing upon the British in ‘the shot heard ’round the world’ — as Ralph Waldo Emerson put it in his ‘Concord Hymn.’ Hmmm, I wonder if the gun rights activists chose April 19 for their rallies because it was the anniversary of Lexington and Concord — or because it was the anniversary of Oklahoma City?” –columnist Ann Coulter

Gangsta Government: Epic Fail obama

April 28, 2010

“The Obama Democrats portray the Dodd [financial ‘reform’] bill as a brave attempt to clamp tougher regulation on Wall Street. They know that polls show voters strongly reject just about all their programs to expand the size and scope of government, with the conspicuous exception of financial regulation. Republicans have been accurately attacking the Dodd bill for authorizing bailouts of big Wall Street firms and giving them unfair advantages over small competitors. They might want to add that it authorizes Gangster Government — the channeling of vast sums from the politically unprotected to the politically connected. That can boomerang even against the latter. Goldman Sachs employees gave nearly $1 million to the Obama campaign and $4.5 million to Democrats in 2008. That didn’t prevent Goldman from being shoved under the SEC bus. Gangster Government may look good to those currently in favor, but as some of Al Capone’s confederates found out, that status is not permanent, and there is always more room under the bus.” –political analyst Michael Barone

“If President Obama’s financial regulations are adopted, there will be fewer loans, credit will be more costly, and individuals will face more risk. Obama argues today that his reforms are necessary to prevent ‘a second Great Depression’ from occurring, but he does nothing to fix what the government did. Nothing is done to reform Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, despite their problems with fraud and costing taxpayers $400 billion in bailouts. Nothing is done to change government regulations that force banks to make risky mortgages. The powers that would be given to the president and the Federal Reserve are unprecedented. The bill gives the government the power to regulate the capital, liquidity and permissible activities for a long list of firms, including securities firms, insurance companies, bank holding companies, hedge funds, finance companies as well as others. The government will be also able to limit the size of these companies. … In another of his proposals … Obama says that he wants to stop government bailouts of companies. And that should be the goal. Otherwise, firms have an incentive to take too many risks when they keep their profits but taxpayers pick up their losses. Who wouldn’t head straight to Las Vegas if you got to keep your winnings and the taxpayers picked up your losses? But Obama’s solution … is to still allow bailouts, but try to prevent them from becoming necessary by stopping financial institutions from taking what he considers to be risky behavior. … The government caused the current financial crisis by forcing banks to make bad mortgages. And the solution is less, not more, government control.” –economist John R. Lott Jr.

“Ironically, the United States is moving in the direction of the kind of economy that China has been forced to move away from. China once had complete government control of medical care, but eventually gave it up as the disaster that it was. The current leadership in Washington operates as if they can just set arbitrary goals, whether ‘affordable housing’ or ‘universal health care’ or anything else — and not concern themselves with the repercussions — since they have the power to simply force individuals, businesses, doctors or anyone else to knuckle under and follow their dictates. Friedrich Hayek called this mindset ‘the road to serfdom.’ But, even under serfdom and slavery, experience forced those with power to recognize the limits of their power. What this administration — and especially the President — does not have is experience. Barack Obama had no experience running even the most modest business, and personally paying the consequences of his mistakes, before becoming President of the United States. He can believe that his heady new power is the answer to all things.” –economist Thomas Sowell

Will Controversy cool Arizona tourism?

April 27, 2010

Folks, this is straight out of the “stupid is as stupid does” folder. From The Communist News Network, as may well be expected…

Political Correctness at the expense of profit? No, simply political correctness. Arizona will see a tremendous drop in personal, as well as property crimes if the new law is properly enforced. That draws customers. That means money, and lot’s of it. Think about it folks. Las Vegas, Nevada was founded by big time crooks. They knew how to make money. Serious money. They also had, and to an extent still do, some of the toughest street crime fighters around. Why? MONEY!

When people feel safe they will bring their families, and, spend money! Right now? Arizona is the nations capital for kidnapping, home invasions, and God only knows what else! Most of said activities can be directly related to Illegal Aliens. As in drug runners, gang members, and white slavery… Then there is auto theft, and the list just goes on….

More epic fail obama: Surrender to the invaders

March 19, 2010

The impostor in chief, along with the usual suspects is steaming full throttle toward handing over the nation to the invaders. Nothing new about that of course. Remember, epic fail obamacare isn’t the only issue out there.

President Barack Obama promised to make overhauling the immigration system a top priority in his first year as president. He’s now in Year Two, and the odds that he’ll get to sign a bill before the November midterm elections appear long.

Grass-roots activists are frustrated by the wait for a new system and are organizing a rally Sunday on the National Mall by what they hope will be thousands of people from across the country loudly voicing their displeasure at the pace of action.

SOURCE

“Grass roots activists” are  liable to run headlong into American activists over this, and yes, I will not rule out violence. All too many Americans have had their lives utterly shattered by these so-called “immigrants.” People are fed up with having their lives destroyed by people that refuse to follow our laws but demand to have all of the rights and privileges that so many people, from all races and nations have fought and died for.

Want to be an American? Great! I’m all for having new people come here, and become a part of this once great nation. Just do it according to our laws…

General Quarters General Quarters Man your battle stations!

February 22, 2010

Remember the old navy movies when the speaker would squak out that you were being attacked? Well, the obamanites are cruising at ramming speed, and they are aiming straight at you, your children, and your grandchildren.

The economic disaster that is obamacare is about to be force fed to you. Guess what Mister President? I refuse to eat the broccoli!

I don’t want you involved in my health care decisions, and if all the demonstrations that made the news last year didn’t get your attention? Then perhaps the absolute backlash that will occur as a result of your lairding it over the soiled masses will be all yours. You will not be able to blame it on Bush. You will own it, lock, stock, and barrel, period.

What type of bloodshed will it take to get you to listen to the people of America? Your apparent disgust for the American military, as exemplified by hiring Hillary Clinton to a cabinet level post. Your abhorrent attitude toward decent Law Enforcement still doesn’t pass muster, even after a beer… Your apparent distaste for those that put their lives on the line on a daily basis, unless they are union Paramedics and Firefighters… That based upon reports from Chi Town from EMS workers while you were a “community organizer.”

Tell ya what Mister impostor in chief? I’ll keep my guns, and you can keep your “change!”

Yes, regular readers know that I really don’t get this fired up unless something  is amiss in a very big way. Well..?

A mere three days before President Obama’s supposedly bipartisan health-care summit, the White House yesterday released a new blueprint that Democrats say they will ram through Congress with or without Republican support. So after election defeats in Virginia, New Jersey and even Massachusetts, and amid overwhelming public opposition, Democrats have decided to give the voters want they don’t want anyway.

Ah, the glory of “progressive” governance and democratic consent.

“The President’s Proposal,” as the 11-page White House document is headlined, is in one sense a notable achievement: It manages to take the worst of both the House and Senate bills and combine them into something more destructive. It includes more taxes, more subsidies and even less cost control than the Senate bill. And it purports to fix the special-interest favors in the Senate bill not by eliminating them—but by expanding them to everyone.

What next? The FBI will be taken over by the BATFE?

Don’t forget folks, as posted earlier in a Gun Owners of America alert, the thing was chock full of anti liberty items, and now? Even more of the same? It’s just a bit after seven in the evening my time. Any bets on how long before the Commie America haters, say, at the SPLC, or the Brady Bunch will will chime in like good little brown nosing storm troopers..?

Figure it out: Just say no to obamacare

Crazed coon, PETA, and yet another example of stupid is as stupid does…

February 20, 2010

Well, those folks over at PETA, you know, the ones that kill animals that are in their “protection” wholesale? They have their panties all wadded up because someone actually had the unmitigated gall to defend home and hearth from a potentially deadly critter that was not acting normally in any way.

With all the great advances in medicine Hydrophobia, is still a scourge that even obamacare couldn’t handle on it’s best day.

Among other things, U.S. Representative Steve King (R-Iowa) is a responsible citizen, a family man, a firearm owner, and is staunchly pro-gun.  He also has a Twitter account from which he “tweets” fairly regularly.

According to a February 16, blog-post on Sioux City Journal.com, Rep. King recently tweeted the following during a snow storm he was riding out in his rural, western Iowa home:  “Mid day, mid blizzard, 15 degrees, Crazy Raccoon chewing and clawing his way into my house. Desert Eagle 1, Crazy Raccoon zero.”

Apparently the home-destroying–and potentially rabid–raccoon had been attempting to enter the King’s home for several days.  The blog post noted that King not only feared the raccoon might be rabid, but that King’s granddaughters often played in the area where the attempted “break-in” occurred.

So King did what most reasonable, self-reliant, self-preserving people in his situation would do:  he shot the raccoon.

Enter People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), the radical and increasingly irrelevant animal “rights” group who, predictably, criticized King for his action.

King should not have dispatched “a small animal seeking warmth in another blizzard,” said PETA spokesman Jaime Zalac.

A normally nocturnal wild animal that is known to be a frequent carrier of rabies, attempting to gain entry into your home in the middle of the day–and destroying your property in the process–is certainly just cause for concern.  And the desire and will to protect your family, home, and self by dispatching the wild animal before it can do more harm would certainly be considered reasonable by most.

Unless, of course, you’re PETA.  In that case, you place the welfare of a destructive animal that could potentially be carrying a fatal disease and is trying to gnaw its way into a home, above the welfare of the home’s human residents.

FAUX POLLS: Bloomberg strikes out against Gun Owners yet again!

February 20, 2010

Every since back in college during a Poly Sci class we were shown how to skew polls I have not been a big believer in them. Unless of course, it is something along the lines of obamacare with huge demonstrations by grass root people responding to some action that they are just plain dead set against. Well, the straw sale felon of New York City is getting his comeuppance…

On Dec. 11, 2009, we noted that a poll paid for by anti-gun politician-activist Michael Bloomberg, claiming to show that NRA members support gun control, was conducted by a pollster who has been reprimanded and censured by two professional polling organizations, and who (of course) doesn’t have access to NRA’s confidential member list.

Since then, gun control supporters have cited the poll in numerous newspaper editorials, opinion columns, and letters to editors, all attacking NRA’s opposition to gun control. Recently, however, Bloomberg’s pollster, Frank Luntz, admitted how he gets polls to turn out the way his employers want. In a “Penn and Teller” interview posted on YouTube, Luntz says, “The key in survey research is to ask questions that people care about the answers [sic], and to ask the question in a way that you get the right answer.” He added, “[W]ith just a single change of wording, you’ll get a very different reaction in terms of how they think and how they feel.”

Thanks, Frank, for making it easier for us to write letters to newspapers pointing out why no one should take your “poll of NRA members” seriously.

O.B.A.M.A. : An epic failure

February 15, 2010

“How could such smart people do so many stupid things? That question, or variations on it, is being asked in Washington and around the country about the Obama administration. The same people who directed the campaign that defeated Hillary Clinton and routed John McCain, a campaign that raised far more money and attracted far more volunteers than any before it, have within a year come up with a legislative program that is crashing in ruins and that, to judge from recent polls, has left the Democratic Party weaker than I have seen it in almost 50 years of closely following politics. … Team Obama failed to realize they were no longer running in Chicago or in the Democratic primaries or facing an electorate fed up with Republicans. And, more important, they failed to realize that vastly expanding government goes deeply against the American grain — and against the basic appeal of their successful campaign.” –political analyst Michael Barone

“If you’ve been paying attention to the left-wing punditry these days, you may be under the impression that the nation’s institutions are on the verge of collapse. Or that the rule of law is unraveling. Or maybe that this once-great nation is crippled and nearly beyond repair. You know why? Because the 40 percent (or so) political minority has far too much influence in Washington. Don’t you know? This minority, egged on by a howling mob of nitwits, is holding progress hostage using its revolting politics and parliamentary trickery. … President Barack Obama, after his agenda had come to a halt, claimed democracy is a ‘messy’ process — as if that were a bad thing. Actually, ‘democracy’ is not only messy but also immoral and unworkable. The Founding Fathers saw that coming, as well. So we don’t live under a system of simple majority rule for a reason, as most readers already know. The minority political party, luckily, has the ability to obstruct, nag, and filibuster the majority’s agenda. Otherwise, those in absolute power would run wild — or, in other words, you all would be living that Super Bowl Audi commercial by now. … [T]oday’s argument that the ruling party doesn’t have enough power is a reflection of a nearly spiritual belief in the wonders of government, not democracy.” –columnist David Harsanyi

“Government is taking us a long way down the Road to Serfdom. That doesn’t just mean that more of us must work for the government. It means that we are changing from independent, self-responsible people into a submissive flock. The welfare state kills the creative spirit. F.A. Hayek, an Austrian economist living in Britain, wrote ‘The Road to Serfdom’ in 1944 as a warning that central economic planning would extinguish freedom. … Hayek meant that governments can’t plan economies without planning people’s lives. After all, an economy is just individuals engaging in exchanges. The scientific-sounding language of President Obama’s economic planning hides the fact that people must shelve their own plans in favor of government’s single plan. At the beginning of ‘The Road to Serfdom,’ Hayek acknowledges that mere material wealth is not all that’s at stake when the government controls our lives: ‘The most important change … is a psychological change, an alteration in the character of the people.’ This shouldn’t be controversial. If government relieves us of the responsibility of living by bailing us out, character will atrophy. The welfare state, however good its intentions of creating material equality, can’t help but make us dependent. That changes the psychology of society. According to the Tax Foundation, 60 percent of the population now gets more in government benefits than it pays in taxes. What does it say about a society in which more than half the people live at the expense of the rest?” –columnist John Stossel
