Stand your Ground Laws; George Zimmerman and Travon Martin

As I look across this nation at all the protests related to the verdict rendered in the Travon Martin shooting I had to think about all those people from the past that had been imprisoned for properly and effectively defending themselves, a family member, or even an unknown stranger from a ruthless crime.

I watched once as a prosecutor, in Arvada, Colorado, drummed into the jury how a friend “had the duty to run,” when his son was being unmercilessly beaten by three others. To allow his son to be killed in other words. Four years later after he was released from the Department of Corrections I, and many others told him that he had done the right thing. The law be damned!

This was quite a few years ago, and just goes to show that political correctness has been around for longer than I have been living. That said…

George Zimmerman could have easily defused this entire situation simply by holding back and waiting for the police to show up. He could have watched from his vehicle from a distance and monitored Travon’s whereabouts and communicated that to the police.

Nevertheless he did have the right to defend himself when Travon started beating his head into the sidewalk. With deadly force I might add. The Jury agreed with that, and the prosecution, the entire team should be brought up on charges of malicious prosecution. It was in fact that bad.

This tragedy was turned into something else by the race baiters, hucksters, and the main stream media, and continues to do so. What has not happened, at least has not been reported to the best of my knowledge so far? The rioting and such. The race war by The New Black Panthers that would accomplish what so many race hatred groups and individuals have tried to get going in the past, like Charles Manson for one example.

I am very much in favor of Stand Your Ground Laws, Castle Doctrine, and Self Defense laws. I support their expansion, and would be in favor of full rights restoration after a person has proved that they are rehabilitated if convicted of a crime. After all, didn’t we lock them up long enough to pay for their transgressions? If not that is our fault. I am also in favor of laws that would imprison those that seek to abuse our laws by twisting them to push their agenda. Such as media types that knowingly alter evidence. Prosecutors that know, or should have known that they were abusing the law, and any other grand-standers that abuse our system of justice.

Enraging organized labor and Democrats; Sorry about that…

Seems that Labor Unions and Communists, I mean Democrats, sorry. Got a little peeved when a few brave souls decided to do what was right, and said to hell with political correctness.

What happens when the votes are counted after the massive recall election will be a signal to the rest of the nation, and the world, about what really matters to mainstream America anymore.

We can only hope that the voters in Wisconsin will use their brains and not follow the populist rhetoric.

This election can be viewed as a referendum on contemporary America. On our collective morals, our dignity, and our pride.

Our forefathers were not at all about handouts, or people living at the government trough. They fought, bled, and in many cases died so that we, as a people, have the freedom to succeed or fail as individuals and as a corporate whole.

We are a representative democracy for a reason. We have a Bill of Rights for a reason. We have a Constitution for a reason as well.

Think about it.

This nation has many problems besetting it. Will we allow others to dictate to us what freedoms we shall have, and exercise? Let’s draw up a list of those problems, and in the coming months go a little deeper into what is going on, the implications involved, and history around them.

  • The Economy; Khrushchev’s shoe at the U. N?
  • Race Wars; Charles Manson, Timothy McVeigh, and the KKK?
  • The Bill of Rights; Private Property, Search and Seizure, The Patriot Act, GCA 1968, Brady Bill, and the Lautenberg abomination?
  • Taxation; “User Fees” and other taxes that are not taxes?
  • Political Correctness; Populism unleashed, full blown social democracy, mob rule anyone?

This is a short list to be sure. However, any of those things could, and very well might trigger a full blown civil war.

Bureaucratic belligerence and official oppression..?

Assault weapons and the truth: Here we go again..!

The Obama administration is moving into high gear in putting gun-control advocates into important government positions. The administration’s nominee to head the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE), Andrew Traver, should be of particular concern. His attacks on the civilian use of so-called assault weapons raise real questions about his willingness to distort the truth for political purposes. The person nominated to be the nation’s top gun cop shouldn’t use inaccurate descriptions to scare people into supporting gun control.

Mr. Traver is the special agent in charge of the BATFE’s Chicago field division. Therefore, he knows what was covered by the federal assault-weapons ban that sunset in 2004. But in November 2009, NBC interviewed Traver and reported: “Traver says the power and randomness of the heavy caliber, military-style weapons make them so dangerous not only to people, but to police. They’re so powerful, body armor can’t withstand a hit, and they’re so difficult to control, their bullets often get sprayed beyond the intended targets, striking innocent victims even when they’re in their own homes.”

The list of problems with Mr. Traver’s claims is very long. If he really believes that these weapons fire unacceptably “heavy caliber” bullets, he is going to have to ban virtually all rifles. Small-game rifles — guns designed to kill squirrels and rabbits without destroying too much meat — typically fire .22-caliber bullets, which are only slightly smaller than the .223-caliber bullets fired by the M16 (used by the U.S. military since Vietnam) and the newer M4 carbine (used in the Afghanistan and Iraq wars). Deer-hunting rifles fire rounds that are very similar to those used by the AK-47.

Speaking of M16s, M4s, and AK-47s, Traver is correct when he states that the guns covered by the federal assault-weapons ban were “military-style weapons.” But he fails to note that this really just deals with style — the cosmetics of the guns, not how they actually operate. The guns covered by the ban were not the machine guns actually used by the military, but civilian, semi-automatic versions of those guns. The civilian version of the AK-47 may look like the guns used by militaries around the world, but it is different. It fires essentially the same bullets as deer-hunting rifles at the same rapidity (one bullet per pull of the trigger), and does the same damage.

On penetrating body armor, Mr. Traver leaves out one important detail: Rifles in general are often able to penetrate body armor simply because their bullets travel faster than those fired from handguns. The same can be said for going through the walls of houses. But if he had said that deer-hunting rifles can often penetrate walls and lower-level types of body armor, it is unlikely that his comments would have generated the same fear.

Unfortunately, Mr. Traver has done more than make clearly inaccurate claims about so-called “assault weapons.” He has supported banning .50-caliber rifles, regulations that would force many gun shows to close down, the Chicago handgun ban, and repealing the Tiahrt Amendment, which protects sensitive trace data from being misused in frivolous municipal lawsuits against gun makers. He also worked with the Joyce Foundation, which has funded gun-ban groups such as the Violence Policy Center, on the “Gun Violence Reduction Project.”

The fact that Mr. Traver uses the same misleading claims as groups such as the Brady Campaign shouldn’t make it too surprising that gun-control groups are applauding his nomination. Nor is Traver’s nomination very surprising after President Obama appointed two strong anti-self-defense members to the Supreme Court. But Mr. Traver’s nomination is dangerous. Making up claims about guns to demonize them is beyond what is acceptable for someone who wants a position in which he will be regulating American gun ownership.

More of the same from the nanny government types that ignore the Constitution and Bill of Rights. Now, as a retired Paramedic I can tell you a truism. Get smacked between the eyes with a single shot twenty gauge shotgun, or a fully automatic M2 Fifty caliber machine gun, the result is the exact same thing. You got smacked to death, period. So stop blaming calibers.

“Assault” weapons..? Hey creeps I got a question for you. Why is it that you want to ban effective weaponry to American citizens when the bad guys; be they terrorist’s or criminals don’t bother with things like background checks, or proper training (Mexican Drug Cartels aside.) and buy black market “Choppers” (Full Auto AK47’s) but think that Americans shouldn’t be allowed similar effective weapons..?

The answer is indeed oh so obvious. You “Hate America First.” As well as all things American. Such as refusing to bend a knee toward oppression, kneeling firing position notwithstanding.

Since I support the Minutemen, and other similar groups that support Freedom and Liberty I will in all probability be branded a racist.’ That is after all, what the hell you people do when you cannot argue anything at all based upon logic or reason.

After all, you lost the “sexist” angle when so many women started buying weapons to defend themselves and their families from leftist’s goons… Not from me or others like me. Those folks are often, defined as Social Services, and the BATFE. Best watch out when you go out to destroy a family these days. After all, you never know when that Cop standing next to you is an “Oath Keeper.”

Keep the fire burning friends. As in our newly elected Taxed Enough Already butts. No more of the same old game. No more compromise when Liberty and Freedom are at stake.

PERIOD!

I have no faith whatsoever, in the Country Club Blue Blood Republicans.

Perjury in Black Panther Case?

We’re closer to the next election than we are the last, but the fallout from the Black Panther case percolates on. Recall that New Black Panther Party members stood outside a Philadelphia polling place in Nov. 2008 brandishing a billy club, shouting racial epithets and otherwise intimidating white voters. This week, the watchdog group Judicial Watch obtained internal e-mail logs from the Department of Justice that suggest that senior officials had a hand in making the decision to pull the plug on the case, contradicting sworn testimony by Thomas Perez, the Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights. Perez said in May that the decision was, “a case of career people disagreeing with career people.”

While it’s doubtful that Perez will be on the rack for these allegations anytime soon, the incident reveals both the difficulty of extracting information on how a slam-dunk case was dropped and the lengths to which Attorney General Eric Holder may be going in not pursuing certain cases based on race. It took a Freedom of Information Act request by Judicial Watch just to receive the logs and a summary of what particular e-mails stated, with a court ordering the disclosure.

“It’s pretty ugly out there,”

“A violent new film from cult director Robert Rodriguez is declaring war on Arizona with a “special Cinco de Mayo message” in the wake of the state’s controversial illegal immigration law.”

So, after all is said and done Arizona takes it on the chin for passing a law that is almost word for word a mirror of the Federal Law on immigration?

I remember many of the past Cinco parades in Denver. One of the more popular signs being carried said “It’s about culture not color.” Well golly gee Robert  if this is the sort of culture that you want to import then yes, we do have a serious problem.

Playing the Race card: A dead mans hand…

When people on the left simply cannot come up with rational arguments to use against their opponents it is inevitable that they play the race card. Often in conjunction with the “it’s for the children” card.  Sorry, but that just does not cut it anymore, we are  on to you, and those things just don’t work any longer.  But? You just keep on playing those ace’s and eights.

Racist, or just tired of too much government?

“Democrats last week began a well-orchestrated campaign to change the subject from Obamacare by declaring Republicans the newest terrorist threat. House Majority leader Steny H. Hoyer claimed that Democrats faced threats of violence in their home districts. He demanded that Republicans take a stand against it. ‘Silence gives consent,’ added Majority Whip James E. Clyburn, who accused Republicans of ‘aiding and abetting this kind of terrorism.’ Democrats promptly exploited their own fear-mongering by rushing out a fundraising letter. Meanwhile, a shot was fired through the window of Republican House Minority Whip Eric Cantor’s Richmond office. Instead of attempting to fill his campaign coffers over the incident, Mr. Cantor denounced Democratic recklessness in creating ‘media vehicles for political gain.’ To hear Mr. Clyburn talk, you’d think the Capitol had been bombed — like President Obama’s spiritual mentor Bill Ayers and the Weather Underground did in 1971 or the communist Revolutionary Fighting Group did in 1983. We don’t recall Republicans placing the blame on Democrats for those bona fide terror attacks committed by the Democrats’ ideological cousins. For the party’s leaders to make such insinuations now rings hollow. The Democrats and their supporters have consistently demeaned and mischaracterized the broad, nationwide, nonviolent grass-roots movement that arose in opposition to their radical agenda. A willing press establishment relays baseless claims that these protesters are violent uncritically and without investigation. … Any leftist thug is now free to toss a brick through a Democratic congressional district office window secure in the knowledge that the act of vandalism will be blamed automatically on Tea Partiers or Republicans. Such hoaxes are tickets to instant press coverage. … This victimization sideshow is meant to hide the fact that Democrats are pursuing policies that the American people oppose, and they are beginning to face a political price.” —The Washington Times

Anger, venom and bile: “I know how the ‘tea party’ people feel, the anger, venom and bile that many of them showed during the recent House vote on health-care reform. Which one of these is not like the other? “[The ‘Don’t Tread on Me‘ flags are] the same imagery that was on [Oklahoma City bomber] Timothy McVeigh, you know? I mean, this is the kind of thing that’s worrisome to me. I don’t see how you can get away from it.” –Fox News contributor Juan Williams, trying desperately to make a connection between the Tea Parties and terrorism

Non Compos Mentis: “Because I think there’s been very consistent strategy from the right to racialize public policies so that poor white people who are often most vulnerable or most in need of those policies will vote against it to align themselves with a certain kind of whiteness, whiteness of property. So the poor white guy in Mississippi who needs welfare votes against welfare because he thinks he’s voting against a poor black woman in Harlem.” –CNN’s Marc Lamont Hill

It’s not fair: “[M]aybe we have reached the point where the Congress needs to equal it out. Say it loud! He’s black,and he’s Proud!

I am black and I support the Tea Party!

Those words alone have sent reverberations up and down both parties. In fact, I’ve been called an “enigma”. For now, there are not too many blacks in the Tea Party. My friend, that is about to change! And you can be a part of that change!

I’ve just participated in a recent Tea Party event that coincided with the first ever National Tea Party convention in Nashville, Tennessee.

THANKS TO BARACK OBAMA…a “revolution” has begun!

This Tea Party movement is not necessarily defined by any one group, leader or politician. It is a GRASSROOTS action that is forcing both regular parties to change the way that they do business! Conservatism is NOT dead! It is being resurrected…..thanks to President Obama!

Level-headed, clear-thinking, patriotic Americans are disheartened by what they are experiencing through this current administration. The Reid-Pelosi-Obama agenda is doing permanent damage to the very fiber of our ideals as a great country.

  • A Christmas Day bomber (moments away from killing 300 people on an airplane in Detroit) is treated like an American citizen, instead of a terrorist that he is!
  • A $3.8 TRILLION DOLLAR economy-busting, yearly proposed budget.
  • Multi-trillion dollar deficits that our children and grandchildren will be paying and paying and paying.
  • More BIG GOVERNMENT at any cost. We have been warned by Moody’s that we are in danger of losing our Triple A credit rating. In the meantime, he is mortgaging our country to China.
  • Promise of acceptance of an open gay lifestyle in our military. As a U. S. Marine and Vietnam Era Veteran, it makes me angry that they are doing social experiments with our military at a time of when our national security is under constant threat.
  • “Big Brother” (government) overseeing our everyday life
  • Admitted communists, radical homosexual activists and even a transgender in leadership positions “czars.”
  • A hard hearted refusal to drop OBAMACARE (SOCIALIZED MEDICINE), even though the American people have made clear in election after election that we don’t want it!
  • An Air Force Academy that is dedicating its first circle of pagan worship for witches and warlocks (and the whole Academy was invited!!)
  • He says, “We are not a Christian nation!” But according to Obama, “we are one of the largest Muslim countries in the world.”
  • Obama has traveled the world denigrating our country by bowing and apologizing before thugs, dictators and despots. They should be apologizing to us and the world, not vice versa.

In short, President Obama is destroying our economy and culture, and undermining our military and national security.

I get ridiculed by many because I am black and do not support Barack Obama’s ideology. But this is not personal. I honor the office of the Presidency. I pray for President Obama to have a real change of heart. Unfortunately, his heart is hardened in pursuit of his radical and destructive policies. At this past weekend’s first national Tea Party Convention in Nashville, Sarah Palin received a rousing welcome from a crowd of nearly 1,000 Tea Partiers as she sent a strong message of support for lower taxes, smaller government, transparency, energy independence and strong national security. She said, “I’m a big supporter of this movement. America is ready for another revolution!”

This is a movement—and a revolution—that cannot be stopped…..

They will forever OPPOSE the beliefs of President Barack Hussein Obama (and his cronies)! Help me to wipe out the “Obama Damage Factor”!

I am one of the most blessed people on earth to have been born a citizen of the United States of America. My forefather paid the price of slavery for me to be here. I love this country, and I do not like what President Obama is doing to it. The Tea Party offers tremendous hope of voting out people who are taking this country in an unconstitutional and ungodly direction. I support them whole-heartedly and I am urging all black Americans (as well as non-blacks whether Republican, Democrat or Independent!) who believe in the Judeo-Christian values which made this country great, to join with the Tea Party and their objectives.

Storm Warnings: Yelling fire

American balkanization is going full steam. The regional separatism that is unfolding before our eyes is telling. Even the terminology is getting twisted. The term “Redneck” is just one example. It originated in the Appalachian region, and defined union workers. Not exactly your right wing terrorists as the DHS likes to call anyone that disagrees with them, and that is not a communist or Muslim.

Anti liberty forces propagandize without bothering to note facts. Just today a WordPress blog that is anti liberty made a post about veterans and made it appear that those veterans were mentally incompetent, as defined by law. When, in fact, that statement was made by none other than the Brady Bunch. A group that has become notorious for being less than truthful.

These not so United States are being torn asunder. There appears to be little middle ground where differences can be hashed out that will be acceptable to all party’s. These things range from States Rights, to abortion, to taxes, gun control, the drug war, and beyond. Lets not forget Man Made Global Warming while we are at it.

These same arguments are all to often clouded with red herrings that further cloud issues. Be that gay rights, property rights, special rights for special groups, and racism to name but a few.

It used to be said that we are a nation of laws, and not of men. Yet, when law is used to belittle others, then respect for the law evaporates.

1984 has come and gone, yet newspeak is all the rage it seems. Most especially in the Senate and Congress. Are these concerns simply yelling fire in a crowded theater? If so, then what if the theater is in fact on fire? Do you allow those people to just burn alive?

As the song says, if you cannot stand for something, then you stand for nothing at all, or something like that.

Wary, but prepared?

I am seriously thinking about beginning an entirely new series here at Conservative Libertarian Outpost. Nothing that really would be new in the realm of knowledge, but, things that a lot of decent people just don’t have knowledge of. Important things, that might save your life, or those of your loved ones. Not to mention your community, your State, and, possibly, your nation.

I may need a little assistance in doing this. I mean, after all, this blog is more than a month old, to say the least. At a whopping two pages I am thinking that a new page, or, possibly, a new blog might be a better method. I am thinking of calling it “Militia Central.” A gathering point for knowledge, and beliefs that go beyond the normal spectrum. If you would like to participate in this venture leave a comment. If you think that it is a bad idea leave a comment also.

If you are of a crack head stoned out emotional adolescent mentality don’t bother applying. Same goes for supposed servants of the people that forswear their oaths.

If this becomes a go my first post may very well be about dispersed leadership, and how to address the attacks on “centers of gravity.” Then again  it might be about domestic terrorist’s that pretend to be Americans. The Brady Bunch, SLPC, BATFE and so on.

Joe Arpaio: American hero

People do what they are driven to do. Some address general issues within society, other times they are more specific, and still others sort of work along a general line but still focused within a parameter. Sheriff Joe Arpaio is one of those types. An equal opportunity Sheriff, he will arrest any law-breaker, and house them accordingly.

How to deal with such an upstart? By golly! Use the race card! It’s always worked in the past after all!  So, what do the people in the obamanure administration do? They try and brand him a racist, and attempt to pull his authority that’s what they do to those that don’t fit with their political correctness agenda. Judgment Day is coming next year progressives, and when that day comes your amnesty dream plan, along with many others will be heading straight into the toilet. Where it belongs…

The issue is not about racism. Not at all. It is about enforcing our laws, and national security. Nothing more, and nothing less.
